Wisc LB Biegel foot injury (Confirmed)

Submitted by MEZman on

Just saw this on the Wisconsin 247 board. They seem fairly despondent toward the bottom. Thought it was interesting enough to post. Sucks for the kid.

Edit: Rumor is broken foot in practice Wed.

Edit #2: Moms feel free to kill this if it's not appropriate rumormongering.

Biegal and Watt were all OVER the field versus MSU. Matt Millen kept trying to make a joke about his last name and David Beedle the Sparty LT. "A beagle beats a beetle every time! har har har har har!" "the beagle squashes the beetles attempt to block him again har har har har!" "Beagle really sniffed out that play! har har har har!"

It was awful...but the kid along with Watt were unreal.

Anonymous message board poster whose dentist plays cards with the player's uncle, later corroborated by this guy's buddy who heard it from someone who talked to his father?

Sure, why not.

That post was followed by two separate posts that require a subscription to read, followed by someone saying "ugh, i was just starting to feel good about our chances" and someone else saying "the spread is only going to grow once word gets out." It looks a little more realistic when you read the whole thread.

Too bad for the kid, hope it is nothing too serious. Personally, rather he was healthy so after we take care of business we don't have to hear that Wisconsin was missing a key player.

This guy is a potential 1st round pick, their top player and match-up problem on a college field. Clark is a very solid 3rd CB. To your other point, injuries are part of football and it takes an entire program to be a top team so UW better have a good backup to pick up the slack. No excuses, no sympathy.

I've never wanted to get trolled more than I do right now

That one is buried in the comments on the thread posted in the OP. If nothing else, Wisconsin fans can find a little humor in these situations, but if it is the case, that definitely hurts the Badgers even though they do seem at least somewhat confident in their backup.

I don't like when this happens to an opposing player unless that player is a truly bad character, and no evidence of Biegel being that.  Hope he recovers quickly and is 100% soon.

That stated, I would not make too much of their fans claiming they have depth so it will be OK.  Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, etc.  This is a huge loss for Wisconsin, coming into a huge game.

Hope the kid gets better soon never want any of 'em to get hurt but this is a physical game and it happens.  We'll be damn lucky if we don't experience this (again) before the end of the year.

That being said, with or without Biegel, the outcome won't be changed.
