Illinois looked WAAAAY better than Nebraska to me, so not sure I would concede that game. Could be BC (NTBC) is their only real shot at a win...

Ah, Raj, reminds me of the Berlin concert we wandered into outside a mall in Ohio... We heard the unmistakable hits from the '80s, then heard about Terri Nunn's fabric allergies and the unfortunate choice of underwear she had made for the show... It was great fun, and wierd, and certainly not something I have forgotten

We just moved here in October and are year around (not many here through the winter). My job is a regional job, so being reasonably close to Chicago and GRR so I can fly were the only real requirements.
Depending on what you do I would think Holland and Grand Rapids would have reasonable options. Traffic isn't really an issue around here if you have ever lived where there is actual traffic.
|07/21/2018 - 12:23pm||I have been homebrewing for…||
I have been homebrewing for about 10 years now. I had taken a break to get ready to move back to Michigan, and finally brewed on the 4th and again Thursday. I have a Two Hearted kegged and cold, and a SMaSH called "Hulk SMaSH" that just started fermenting.
I would love to post full details on my setup with pics and everything, but don't have time right now. Net is I moved from bottling to kegging and freed up a ton of space. I switched from Extract to all grain about 3 years ago. It takes longer, but I think I am making better beer in the end. Process is more interesting as well.
Using a keg at a tailgate would work great, but you probably want to build or buy a jockey box (internet can help you)
I leveraged Adventures in Homebrewing early on, and now live close enough to Bells to get my ingredients there. I'm in Saugatuck if anyone wants to trade beers or get together and brew...

|10/16/2017 - 11:39am||Why is Peters not getting ANY snaps?||
If O'Korn gets dinged, we are really throwing BP into the fire, and I would think we would want to get some reps just to get some feel.
This seems to be a trend with Jim Harbaugh, leaving the starter in and not having them look over their shoulder.
At this point, I am surprised Jim isn't working Peters in just to make sure he has some confidence when he does need to go in for a play or two...

There is no way Peters is way behind Speight. I can't believe he hasn't gotten any snaps. We know what O'Korn is, and I cannot believe he is ahead of Peters

Have the top two from the bottom bracket play the bottom two (#7 & #8) from the top bracket as play-in games for the BTT... Then both are fighting for something those last few weeks.
Looking at the quality of #7 - #10 this past year, those would be good games, and playing for a spot in the 8 team BTT...
|05/09/2017 - 10:05am||He won't come back to play fullback...||
He will be starting in the NFL after following the proven path:
1. Burried in Michigan's depth chart
2. Transfer to obscure school for playing time
3. Get drafted in the mid to late rounds
4. Dominate in the NFL
5. Profit (?)

It really is that simple. If you wouldn't say it to a recruit at his HS in front of his friends, then you are really disconnected if you thing an annonymous tweet has a positive impact.
I doubt many of the negative tweets would have been said in person to the recruits. The annonymity provides entitlement and bravado to the self righteous. Amiright?

|12/15/2016 - 8:56am||Agree in concept, but a 30+ ACT is hard for good students||
The athletes that are struggling to be eligible are not going after 30+ ACT, they are trying to clear a minimum score hurdle that is probably low to mid 20's. Non-athletes need to get an ACT above 30 to have a chance in competing vs other top students, but athletes need to clear the minimum score/grade bar.

I've been homebrewing now for about 5 years and just now am moving to all-grain. I got all of my starter gear from Adventures in Homebrewing (AIH) in Ann Arbor. Highly recommend them, and their site is good as well (homebrewing.org)
Initially I had a basic setup with an 8 gal brew pot, a 220KBTU propane burner, glass carboys and bottling equipment. I moved to ball lock soda kegs 2 years ago and haven't bottled anything since. Force carbination takes 2+ weeks out of the waiting process.
This year I have added 10 gallon coolers for mash tun and HLT. I also bought an "Oxygenator" to improve fermentation and it works great (cuts fermentation time in half and it is more complete)
Next on my wish list is a permanent home for my setup so I don't have to haul it from the basement to the garage everytime I brew.
AIH has an outstanding clone of Bell's Two Hearted, and that is by far my favorite homebrew so far.
Thanks for starting this, hope to learn much from my MgoBrew family
|08/03/2016 - 10:12pm||If near Ann Arbor or Taylor go to Adventures in Homebrewing...||
You can also hit there web site at homebrewing.org.
Best advice I have gotten, and the best recipe kits (grain + extract).
I got all of my start-up with their packaged kits and it was excellent. I have since added all-grain epuipment. Only wish they were closer to me.
