Arkansas at TCU will be interesting to see.

because Louisiana Tech held Arkansas in check to the tune of 21...but then again TCU gave up 41 to South Dakota State. I think TCU's lack of defense prevails and Arkansas wins 38-30ish
September 8th, 2016 at 11:21 AM ^
Arkansas should have been 0-2 to start the season.

ND State has won like 5 straight titles
September 8th, 2016 at 9:13 AM ^
ND State is like 8-3 vs FBS competition since 2006 and have won their last 5 in a row. That will be a tough game for Iowa.
September 8th, 2016 at 9:45 AM ^
Serious manball team, that ND State... I saw a few highlights from last years FCS championship game - that OL was a beast! A few times the OL, as a unit, pushed 6-7 yds forward. The RB just skipped along behind them until something broke open, and then was immediately into the broken down secondary. They're well coached and disciplined. And I think they'll do some damage on Iowa. I can see them winning... Don't know if they will, but I could see it.

Week 3 looks like week 1.
I won't get shit done then either.
September 8th, 2016 at 12:15 PM ^
MSU has a bye before playing ND, while ND is playing Nevada a week after going on the road to Texas. No school will ever schedule power conference or historic program matchups in a week after opening against one.
An overload of marquee matchups on opening weekend, many of which could easily double as postseason bowl contests, were scheduled leaving slim pickings in Week 2. You just can't survive playing overly tough competition week in and week out, until conference play starts.
The fact that the SEC schedules non-conference like no other conference because it never leaves the region except on rare occasions, means there are some curious matchups in the first and third weeks of every season.
Our conference, the Big Ten, actually offers some of the best games this weekend, Illinois vs. North Carolina and Iowa vs. Iowa State, in one of the best in-state rivalries in the early season.
September 8th, 2016 at 3:33 PM ^
To be fair, the reason MSU has a bye is not because of Notre Dame.
It was put into effect after Alabama cancelled their series with MSU and they had to scramble last minute.
September 8th, 2016 at 8:45 AM ^
Not because of the game, but because of the alternate uniformz AF is breaking out.

Is it just me or has this happened a lot in the last several years in particular where the best games seem to be tucked away in second-tier slots in the TV schedule or, even worse for some, cozy corners of regional conference programming? I could be way off here, but a significant number - certainly not all of them, of course - of the marquee games in each time slot have not been as interesting as you would have thought.

That is a picture of a boy in a blonde wig. The director didn't want to ridicule a young girl...so he ridiculed a young boy.

Well at least he isn't sexist to women.
September 8th, 2016 at 10:37 AM ^
oh, so the director thought a male could handle the ridicule but not a female? so he's saying males are superior to females? sexist pig.
September 8th, 2016 at 4:51 PM ^
And now you're insulting those of the porcine persuassion and insinuating that sexist individuals should be equated with those selfless creatures? For shame! We need more moralistic PC outrage here!

September 8th, 2016 at 12:33 PM ^
Probably not. I mean, when has a game against Akron ever yielded any meaningful information about a B1G team's later fortunes?
September 8th, 2016 at 1:38 PM ^
Never has a win haunted me as much as that one. I kept telling myself it was a fluke. Fluke. Dear God please let this game have been a fluke. Deep down inside, I knew it wasn't a fluke.

Akron has been awful for a long time, but Bowden is doing a great rebuild there and is on the way to making them a force within the MAC. UM should never be at risk from them again, but I could see them taking down some of the other Big Ten teams in the near future (but not UW this weekend).
September 8th, 2016 at 9:05 AM ^
Florida can't score points against 11 traffic cones, and Kentucky just gave up 37 unanswered points to Southern Miss. But they're in the SEC, so one of them should be ranked.
