|12/01/2018 - 3:49pm||This exactly. Oklahoma is…||
This exactly. Oklahoma is going to beat a better team (NW will have 5 losses) and a rival. Plus they are avenging their only loss, which is meaningful IMO.
I can’t fathom how the committee could justify OSU passing OK ragardless of how bad they beat NW. Then again the committee is idiotic at times so who knows.
|11/25/2018 - 3:21pm||I’d actually be interested…||
I’d actually be interested to play any of those opponents except Florida. And while the Rose Bowl would be great, the Peach and Fiesta would also be fun.
Regarding opponents is there any chance we draw Georgia or LSU as well? What about Oklahoma? Hopefully not, but I can’t remember the rules on the number of teams from one conference in the NY6.
Worst case scenario in my opinion would be Georgia or Florida in the Peach. Tired of playing SEC teams in the south.
|11/24/2018 - 12:18am||He played against Indiana…||
He played against Indiana. The concussion happened against Rutgers.
Stop drinking and go to bed. /s

Lagavulin 16, always neat and clean.
Smoke in my mouth, and fire in my belly.
Consumes OSU, and Let’s Go Blue!!!

I love scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly.
|11/23/2018 - 8:04pm||I will be pouring multiple…||
I will be pouring multiple drams of Dalmore KA3 and Lagavulin 16 if we win tomorrow.
The Dalmore was purchased at the source in Scotland, and only comes out on very special occasions.
|11/18/2018 - 11:28am||I’m probably just…||
I’m probably just rationalizing, but I actually like it better that OSU has everything to play for too.
I would have rather already wrapped the east of course, but that would have allowed OSU to play loose, with nothing to lose really. All the pressure would have been on Michigan.
Now the pressure is pretty much equal. And the vibes I get from OSU are not good if I’m a buckeye fan. Their players seem content to have just won and Haskins blamed it on Maryland being motivated because he was once committed there. Only Urban seems to recognize how bad they played.
|11/18/2018 - 11:16am||There are lots of former…||
There are lots of former Soviet block countries that are full of tough guys. You should think about visiting. I hear Belarus is nice this time of year!
|11/18/2018 - 11:12am||There are lots of former…||
Feels like this has to be the year. But I have major BPONE. Anything but another 2006 / 2016 redux.
This team seems different though.. LFG.
|11/14/2018 - 9:58pm||Troll city. Go back to RCMB…||
Troll city. Go back to RCMB with that garbage
We put it in cruise control in the second half, and still played them completely even.
This was a blowout, full stop. We took their cookies.
|11/12/2018 - 12:52am||How the hell does Indiana…||
How the hell does Indiana score 24 points on this defense? Even with garbage time, I’m guessing 17 is the hard ceiling.
|11/11/2018 - 12:02pm||In what world did we look…||
In what world did we look bad? We sleepwalked through the first quarter and then blew the doors off. All while resting anyone remotely injured (Metellus, Solomon) and not using half our offense. Patterson didn’t pull at all yesterday, by design, and I saw a lot more power, which hasn’t really worked much this year.
We kept the Ferrari in the garage and took the Volvo instead. And we still won going away, with minimal injuries. Perfect result IMO. Do the same against Indiana next week, and then it’s 2016 all over again. Hopefully with a different end result.
|11/04/2018 - 10:46am||Definitely We OWN Penn State…||
Definitely We OWN Penn State. We used to chant that all the time back in the early 2000s when they were like 1-8 against us since joining the conference. They also sucked at basketball and had no hockey team.
|10/14/2018 - 3:58pm||Well by that logic I’m…||
Well by that logic I’m looking forward to Rutgers being Jim’s biggest win in a few weeks.
Biggest win by far? This is objectively wrong. Full stop.
The importance of a win is also not just determined by the next game. Or by past years. Yesterday’s game will be a bigger win even after next week.
|10/14/2018 - 3:46pm||But this Wisconsin team may…||
But this Wisconsin team may end up losing two more games. PSU 2016 is bigger IMO.
And winning next week will NOT be the biggest win of the era. Sorry but if we win Sparty will be 4-3. Yes it’s a rival but come one.
|10/14/2018 - 3:31pm||Didn’t we beat 3 top 10…||
Didn’t we beat 3 top 10 teams in 2016?
Including a blowout of the BIG Champ PSU?
Seems like one of those is probably the best win of the harbaugh era.
|10/10/2018 - 11:46am||Spot on here. 2016 vs OSU…||
Spot on here. 2016 vs OSU was far and away the most important game in the Harbaugh era so far.
It will most likely remain so until we roll into Columbus at 10-1. In order to get there we need to beat the next 5 opponents, but that doesn’t make each of those the most important game IMO.
|10/07/2018 - 5:11pm||Personally, I’d wait a few…||
Personally, I’d wait a few more weeks before putting the NW win above WMU.
If NW continues to play well and gets to 4-3 then I’d move it up. Until then, they are a 2-3 team with a really bad loss and one good(ish) win.
Any wins over Wisc, MSU, PSU, and OSU will pretty much instantly jump all the games up until this point. And any losses to those teams (except OSU) will become our worst of the season given the circumstances.
We’re at home against Wisconsin and PSU. MSU is on the road, but they’re going to be 3-3 when we play them. Losing to any of those teams will be worse than the ND game.
|10/06/2018 - 9:15pm||Seriously, up until last…||
Seriously, up until last week everyone was saying that Dwumfor was the most disappointing player of the year. And now you’re terrified he’s hurt after a 20+ point win?
Seriously don’t understand my fellow Michigan fans sometimes. The boys looked solid today, Sparty lost, and there are still so many negative nancies out there.
Michigan did exactly what they needed to do these past 5 weeks, and have mostly looked good doing it. Relax and enjoy the ride! We’ll find out exactly what kind of team we have over the next 4 weeks
|10/06/2018 - 9:07pm||Well if you’re taking away…||
Well if you’re taking away the pick 6, I’m taking away the KO return TD. Because they certainly weren’t scoring in the first half without it.
Sorry, but based on your comment, it’s an 85% chance you are a troll.

Come on man, you’re batter than that!

Gotta find a way to turn that into a first date.
“Sorry I broke your leg, let me take you to dinner to make up for it. Or perhaps you’d like a ride to the hospital?”
|10/02/2018 - 5:46pm||Didn’t we play an FCS team…||
Didn’t we play an FCS team in the RR era that kept it close?
I remember we were never in real danger of losing, but the defense looked awful all game. Gave me an ulcer for the season to come.
Edit: Had a moment to look it up. It was the 42-37 win over UMass. Gross.
|09/28/2018 - 11:15pm||I think they said he’s…||
I think they said he’s available to play tonight.
Kelly just went with the dual threat freshman, and I think he looks pretty good honestly.
|09/28/2018 - 10:02pm||I refuse to believe anyone…||
I refuse to believe anyone actually likes the taste of eating a lemon by itself.
That being said, whisky (nice job spelling it correctly btw) is the nectar of the gods. And neat is the only way to fly IMO.
|09/28/2018 - 8:41pm||Ha ha nice. I was about to…||
Ha ha nice. I was about to ask more about your Dalmore.
Best I’ve got is the Dalmore King Alexander III. Will probably have a dram of that later this evening.
Currently I’m drinking Pfreim’s Pumpkin Bier and getting ready for the Colorado-UCLA game. Montez and Shenault are on my fantasy teams.

I mean, Woody did punch a college kid on the sideline on national TV.
Let’s just call it a tie.

Woody Hayes would like a word with you. But point taken.
|09/26/2018 - 11:01am||While that may be true, how…||
While that may be true, how do we know that Bryant won’t graduate from Clemson this year? And then work on a grad degree next year?
Overall, I agree with your point. This move is almost certainly 100% football driven. But these players can also have the best of both worlds. Come out after 5 years with 1-2 degrees, take your shot at the NFL, and then start your career when you can’t play anymore.
I also think we should be paying players, so they get even more of a leg up on post football life.
|09/25/2018 - 11:07am||Yeah that’s totally fair…||
Yeah that’s totally fair. Like I said, it’s a pet peeve of mine. I realize it probably doesn’t bother others that much.
Maybe we could do a sticky about game times or add it to Ron Utah’s post?
|09/25/2018 - 10:33am||I know it’s silly, but these…||
I know it’s silly, but these threads really grind my gears. Call it a pet peeve.
The rules for when game times are announced has been the same for years. And yet, we get these threads pretty much on a weekly basis. If anyone knew the game time for the MSU game, it would be public knowledge. No one has anything to gain from keeping it a secret.
|09/24/2018 - 8:34pm||There certainly is a…||
There certainly is a universe where that happens. But it would take such an extraordinary turn of events that it’s barely worth talking about.
First of all, we have to go 12-1. Guessing that’s about a 5–7% chance if you averaged win probabilities.
Then ND would need to go undefeated. They obviously would have a pretty strong case to get in over us. Heck, they may even have a case with 1 loss to say...
Stanford. Stanford could also go undefeated and with their schedule (@ND, @Oregon, USC, UW, P12CG) would also have a great case to go over us.
SEC Champ, assuming they only have 0 or 1 losses is going to get in.
Undefeated Clemson is also getting in over us. Same with Oklahoma I suspect.
So there you go. A universe where Michigan is left out of the playoff, and probably for good reason if I’m honest.
|09/22/2018 - 3:51pm||I’m assuming Gary just…||
I’m assuming Gary just tweaked his shoulder slightly? He was rampant in the first half until they pulled him.
DTs looked great today IMO. Marshall and Dwumfor both had stand out plays. Mone and Kemp continued to look solid. If Solomon comes back at some point, that position starts looking like a major strength instead of the ? it appeared to be after the ND game. Mattison uber alles.
|09/22/2018 - 2:21am||Barring some really fluky or…||
Barring some really fluky or crazy stuff happening, Stanford is going to walk all over Oregon.
Chip’s Ducks are long gone. I’m honestly shocked the spread is only -2/-2.5 because Stanford is probably 10-12 points better on paper.

Woohoo!! Go Blue!
|09/10/2018 - 1:54pm||That makes sense. I'm…||
That makes sense. I'm totally fine with 1230 (PT) games as well, mainly for the reason you and the previous poster mentioned.
However, my preference is still the 9am kickoffs. I don't like waiting for the game to start, especially when it's a big game. And if I really want to, I can start hitting the beer around halftime without feeling too guilty.
Mainly, I like the option of doing things outside after the game is over. With the shorter days Fall brings, that's hard to pull off even with a 1230pm start.
|09/10/2018 - 11:58am||First off, everyone has…||
First off, everyone has different schedules and priorities, so there will always be varying views on what time is the “best”.
That being said, as a West Coast wolverine who’s over 30, I enjoy the noon games, which are actually 9am kicks for me. Wake up at 6 or 7, drink some coffee, take care of a few things around the house, and then it’s kickoff time.
If things go well, Michigan has won, its 1230pm, the sun is shining, and it’s time to drink a beer and hit the outdoors. Doesn’t get much better than that, especially in the fall when the weather is perfect.

Pretty sure that’s Lewerke’s dad. Which makes it even better.

Nothing new my dude. Games times often get announced 7-10 days in advance. I don’t like it either, but it’s been that way for a long time.
|09/08/2018 - 6:44pm||I got quite a bit of…||
I got quite a bit of enjoyment out of this game. If you didn’t, I feel sorry for you as a sports fan. Learn to enjoy success, even if it’s expected.
|09/08/2018 - 6:40pm||I really hope you forgot the…||
I really hope you forgot the /s in your comment. Dude if you aren’t satisfied with this blowout, I don’t know what to tell you. The world must be a dark cold place for you. I’m guessing you were one of the “fans” grumbling after the first possession.
I’m proud of the team today, all around. Played really well and dominated an overmatched team. On to the next one. Go Blue!
|09/08/2018 - 6:36pm||Sounds like a problem with…||
Sounds like a problem with your TV or eyes. The endzones looked Blue to me, and they are spectacular.
|09/03/2018 - 11:05pm||I don’t know if 3 sacks were…||
I don’t know if 3 sacks were all his fault, but I did rewatch the game and he was solely responsible for several blown up plays. JBB also had a handful, the pick was mostly on Ruiz and a poor decision by Shea. Saw Onwenu make one big mistake. Higdon actually did quite well in pass pro.
But Runyan was clearly the weakest link, and I think UFR will bear that out.
|09/03/2018 - 10:05pm||I don’t know man. I’ve…||
I don’t know man. I’ve watched the game almost 3 times now, and he sticks out as the primary cause of most of the major play breakdowns.
Many times I watched a play full speed, and then went back to diagnose where the breakdown occurred. It wasn’t always Runyan, but he was definitely the weakest link on the line.
I agree that the personal attacks on him should not be happening, but he played very poorly IMO.
By contrast, I actually thought Higdon did a pretty solid job in pass pro. There was the one pressure he allowed up the middle, but I think that was more on Ruiz because Higdon was trying to release into a route when Ruiz allowed a guy to go right by him.
Long story short, if there is anyone else who seems plausible at LT, give him a shot.
|09/01/2018 - 5:34pm||Problem is he may have…||
Problem is he may have regained control, but it was only for an instant before it dislodged again. Look at it this way, imagine there is a fumble laying on the turf and a player jumps on it, has control for an instant, but then it squirts out again. That’s still a live ball 99% of the time.
Once the ball is loose, it has to be secured to the ground. And the Texas player didn’t do that in my opinion.
|09/01/2018 - 5:22pm||Pretty clear fumble IMO. I’m…||
Pretty clear fumble IMO. I’m not rooting for Maryland, but I want Texas to lose.

I’m pretty sure Harbaugh will start the best player. Full stop.
What other motivation could there be than to beat ND? And why would you start anyone other than the guy that gives you the best chance to do so?

I’m pretty sure posbang is one word. Otherwise it looks a bit awkward.
