Michigan-Notre Dame to resume in 2018!

Submitted by LS And Play on

This is excellent news in my opinion. And so soon! As noted below, this will require a schedule adjustment for Michigan -- seemingly Arkansas will be cut -- in 2018. The tweet:

Source: #Michigan and #NotreDame to announce their football rivalry series will resume play in 2018. Announcement expected tomorrow.

I'm not one to count Harbaugh, especially in year 5 once he's fully rolling, out of going 3-0.

Will be extremely tough, but what's more special than getting to walk out of South Bend, East Lansing and Columbus with a win? Those players would have arguably one of the most special accomplishments of all time.

Either way, we don't even know this is the case yet

No they were not all road games but seeing as you have to add  a Joe Pa Penn State on the road and a Berry Alverez coached Wisconsin team on the road that was an amazing season.

Of the three you mention I know staee was on the koad I can't remember if  ND was a road game. The Game was in A2

The last ND game was away. No way Warde allows that to happen a second time. Noone is forgetting the MSU debacle. I wouldn't worry about this. ND will figure out their own schedule?

if manuel is that fucking dumb to cancel home vs SEC team for road vs notre dame, after they screwed us, he should be fired immediately, before the contract can be signed or in notre dame's case, "gentleman's agreement" how pathetically short does he think our memories are exactly, or is he and harbaugh just not at all aware of how the series ended??

Whenever something went wrong or he was exposed as a fraud, Brandon lied.  Lie after lie after lie.

Its blatantly obvious from numerous examples that Brandon had zero credibility to be the AD.

A contract of this sort isn't just magically canceled out of the blue.  Brandon was probably warned about over and over that they will cancel.

The common factor in all this is Brandon.  He is gone and magically negotiations and relations are perfectly fine.

Brandon got his ass kicked in everything he did.

2018 will be a home game. ND only has 10 games scheduled in 2018 right now. 5 at home, 1 voluntary neutral site game against Navy, and 4 road games. If they schedule a road game against Michigan and another home game to fill out the schedule, they'd have 6 home, 1 neutral, and 5 road games. That's what will happen.

Brandon admitted earlier this year or last fall, that he would have retained Hoke as coach.

The same guy that continually fired non-revenue coaches because they didn't perform well enough.

The guy was going to keep a bumbling imbecile as the coach of the most important program at the school while continuing to fire coaches for losing tennis matches.

Okay I guess. Notre Dame is take it or leave it for me if we can replace with a similar quality opponent.

Notre Dame's fans are probably my least favorite in the entire country (God's on their side!!) so getting a break from talking to them has been nice.

You're an asshole. Only staee fans use that phrase as a pejorative. If it wasn't for "Walmart wolverines" and us "old" people over 30, Michigan Stadium would be 1/2 empty for every game. ND is our second greatest rivalry and I couldn't be more pleased to have them back on the schedule.

I thought we should have made demands of them for the way they pulled out. But, it will still set up nicely for us. Kelly has the Irish back. I still maintain he's second only to Harbaugh in extending his roster through multi-faceted players.

We, on the other hand, will have Jim's first qb recruited out of high school, with first eam OL and DLmen, headed by the return of Defensive POY, Rashaun Gary. the offense will have the All Big combo of Kareem Walker and O'Maury Samuels and likewise at TE where both Asaisi and Wheatley are considered the two favorites for the Mackey. With Crawford, the pre-season Heisman favorite returning after smashing our single season receiving record set just two seasons earlier by Jehu Chesson, we'll try to live up to th preseason hype of the most dangerous offense in the past two decades.

Should be one hell of a return to the series for the Irish
