Gary narrows list to 2. Still undecided
ESPN article essentially says it's down to 2 schools and there doesn't seem to be much separating them.

It's quotes from his mom, so it's somewhat more legit than that.
“He doesn’t know yet and it scares me,” she said. “There are similar points to both schools with little differences. It depends on what’s most important to him and where he wants to go, because I’ve lead him as far as I can.
“He’s stuck right now and I can’t unstick him. That’s something he has to do.”

Jesus! That's... ominous.

if this comment is true:
"There are similar points to both schools"
then, well, it's not about academics...

I keep wondering who buys the ESPN subscription? They have no message boards for teams anymore. All of their information is usually just copied from other sides and written into article form. And their rankings are the least referenced when it comes to recruiting. Unless you get one of those deals where you get the ESPN Magazine for like $3 for an entire year, I just don't see why anyone would pay into that ESPN crap. The content is just so bad.
February 1st, 2016 at 5:01 PM ^
Every year I call to cancel, and every year they offer me another year for dirt cheap.
February 1st, 2016 at 5:15 PM ^
I use it a lot for fantasy content and I don't mind paying the 3 bucks a month for it as I'm a fantasy nut. But yeah, they unfortunutely got rid of their message boards and Wolverine Nation a couple years ago. Their recruiting stuff generally sucks but I like the other stuff it offers
February 1st, 2016 at 5:37 PM ^
the other day, is pretty good, and the write ups of prospects are more in depth than the other services. And I get the cheap sub so...

I don't even understand how or why this is bullshit. Its bullshit that he's down to two teams? That's neither good news or bad news, and it sure as hell isn't bullshit.

That is exactly what I though, which is why I did not click the link, especially since it is Insider.
February 1st, 2016 at 3:59 PM ^
I'm not sure a paywalled article could be considered click-bait. Assuming the quotes from his mom are not out of context or not made up (It's a TVH article, so I don't think that's the case) it sounds like he's struggling between 2 schools and will make the decision on his own. Mom seems to indicate at this time that she's stepping back.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:03 PM ^
Okay, we'll call it subscribe-bait then.
Either way, gotta sell those subscriptions.
I'm so tired of Rivals either blowing smoke up our ass or being doom and gloom that I tried to cancel my subscription this morning and got offered four months free.
If you want premium info, go to Sam or Lorenz.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
I get premium info on NSD when all these guys will be officially on board. No need to pay for anything when it comes to recruiting.
I didn't neg you, by the way.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:15 PM ^
Read the quote above (posted by MC5-95). If you're accusing Tom of creating drama where there is none, then you're accusing Gary's mom of doing the same thing. You have no idea whether Scout knows better. You just want to believe that.
I don't know what to think about Gary's recruitment, but it's definitely possible that he's undecided at this point. I mean, he literally just finished visiting a nice campus near a close relative of a program that was in the national championship game a few weeks ago.

Similar to the Basketball team a month ago, chicken littles are gonna run around and screech over this.
ESPN, the people publishing the article, wants people to watch the announcement.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:20 PM ^
Spare me the "chicken littles" stuff. Should we pull up your posts from the hockey threads earlier this season?
February 1st, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
Go right ahead. Go to the one from last game and you'll notice a pattern of posts and what happens AFTER I make those posts in-game.
It's been working for months and I'm not gonna stop.
There's a difference between making those posts for a calculated reason and actually believing it.
I take the opposite approach with Basketball because it works.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:49 PM ^
I'd assume it's a joke that you seem to be taking credit for the hockey team's success, but with your views of Dave Brandon's firing, I'm not sure.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:57 PM ^
Superstitions or patterns, call them whatever you want. It's a crazy person thing. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Oh and here we go bringing this shit up again. I've never said the words "I got DB fired" here. Ever. That shit happened almost two years ago.
I don't come on here to fight with people, man. I don't understand why some of you want to.
Have a nice day.
February 1st, 2016 at 5:22 PM ^
It's nice that you acknowledge that you're a crazy person though. The first step is acceptance.
February 1st, 2016 at 5:39 PM ^
Maybe you should stop, and reflect a little on why so many people "want to fight" you. I assure you there are reasons (note, plural).
Oh and here we go bringing this shit up again. I've never said the words "I got DB fired" here. Ever. That shit happened almost two years ago.
Think about what is contained in those sentences that could elicit a negative reaction from someone like me, and ask yourself why. Or don't, and this will keep happening weekly in perpetuity.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:55 PM ^
You need to come back to reality if you seriously think your comments on a message board have any impact on a game already in progress. That's some next level over-inflated sense of self importance ish right there.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:23 PM ^
I don't understand why everyone thinks these decisions are cut and dry. I've made MANY decisions in my life that were the better of two good options, or the lesser of two bad options.
When someone commits, they're not 100% something and 0% something else. If Hill picks MSU over Michigan, he'll likely be 51% MSU and 49% Michigan. Sometimes when there are many good options, it is EXTREMELY hard to parse out the differences and make a choice.
People on here act like "this kid should know by now." No. That's not how this kind of stuff works. He's been shown the best that every school has to offer. Sure we have his friends and coach, but he has other friends at other schools, and may honestly think that there are better options.
Unfortunately, one thing is for sure. If Michigan has all these built-in advantages and we are in a dogfight, it probably means his heart is somewhere else and his head is telling him Michigan. That doesn't pan out great for us...
February 1st, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
I love how you're always so sure of yourself, and your "sources". Lets all hope scout is right.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:38 PM ^
Brian Dohn just posted on there that his mom said "they're unsure" after the Clemson visit.
But two weeks ago she also said that USC was a "game-changer".
The one constant here is Michigan.
Take a look at Rashan's recent twitter follows. Hell, take a look at her recent follows. Not one peep of Clemson. Not one.
Ballz? Anyone gonna step up and say something?
What fun would an announcement be if everyone knew? I'm not sure any #1 player in the nation's announcement went like that.
Just sit back and enjoy the WrestleMania of college recruiting.

Harbaugh told Gary and his mom to play it this way, to make it seem like it really is up in the air. That way, when he commits live at Signing of the Stars, it enhances the showbiz factor.
Harbaugh is the PT Barnum of our time...

This thought reminds me of Brandon pimp hand talk. It is no time to get cocky.
February 1st, 2016 at 4:43 PM ^
Rashan and his mom don't seem to be the kind of folks who would waste Clemson's time visiting there if he had no intention of considering Clemson.
Clemson is in play.
