Marketing approved all the nouns/buzzwords to be uttered in press conferences.
Hence, Automaton Hoke "It's in the statement." "We weren't physical enough." "We didn't execute." on an infinite loop.

Brandon was truly a complete steaming pile of shit as UM AD

San Diego State is doing fine without him. Rocky Long just won 10 games and went undefeated in conference play.

Lots of DC openings...if he were smart he'd jump on one of those.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:25 AM ^
He's never been a DC in his life. You don't just get hired over people who are actually qualified to do it.
Could you imagine Brady fucking Hoke tryin to get a playcall in on time? Brady Hoke evaluating what he's seeing, calling the proper defense, and getting it on to the field.
That would be a disaster.
Not all head coaches can be coordinators and vice versa.
He's never done it in his life, you want him to start now?
It's DL coach in the NFL or college HC, those are his options.

Caldwell is a great example of what he means... Caldwell had been fine until he was forced to rely on Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter, as soon as that situation happened he was not only immediately shitcanned but became somewhat toxic. Meanwhile Ken Whisenhunt, who was farther removed from success in 2014 than Caldwell, was being coveted by Lions fans.

Remember when the Lions coveted Russ Grimm and ended up with Rod Marinelli. I still find it hard to believe that Millen was allowed to make three coaching hires.

wrong coach
December 6th, 2015 at 1:00 AM ^
You raise an intersting point. Should USCe hire Singletary? Who do you have in mind?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:03 AM ^
I mean... on one hand I see your point.. Another hand... I see mediocre coaches like Marvin Lewis surviving year after year prior to his recent success... then I see your point again with has beens like Jeff Fisher still getting jobs... Then again Lovie Smith was employed again...
It's a tough one.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:08 AM ^
in all fairness, Marvin Lewis is slightly above average. At least he knows how to fill a staff.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:17 AM ^
Marvin Lewis took one of the worst franchises in sports and has made them a playoff team on a consistent basis. Calling him mediocre is just dumb.

"prior to recent success"

You're confusing your black people. Lovie Smith*

That's pretty much what the entire Big 12 says.
That conference hasn't had a legit DC in it since Ruffin McNeill and Muschamp.

The SEC is dead when Alabama is the number 2 team in the country?
I miss something?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:01 AM ^
December 6th, 2015 at 1:10 AM ^
The SEC hasn't won it in two years so they're dead. Right-O. I guess Ohio State is the only relevant B1G team cause they're the only team to win in the 2000s.
Conferences can be down. But dead? I never even considered the B1G "dead".

I did. Not sure what happened because I definitely his "reply".
:shrugs: I saw it made its own post and just rolled with it.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:37 AM ^
Don't tell that to SEC fans
December 6th, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
The SEC is Alabama . . . and nobody else.
The other SEC teams leeching off of Alabama is pathetic.
You don't see Purdue strutting around because Ohio State is good.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:00 AM ^
Dumbness. They could've done better.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:10 AM ^
Supposedly RichRod turned them down, so could they have?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:15 AM ^
Richt spurned them. Herman spurned them. Dantonio spurned them. Kirby Smart spurned them. Rich Rod spurned them. Justin Fuente spurned them.
That's a lot of spurning.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:25 AM ^
how could anyone turn down an ESS EE SEE job?! also Al Golden and Greg Schiano are available... Honestly though, might be been a better idea to roll the dice and go after Bob Stitt than give up and hire Muschamp.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:58 AM ^
I wouldn't really say Richt spurned them when his alma mater that has better resources and a better recruiting footprint came calling.
Hermann definately spurned them thogh.

Is he? I mean, Texas only won 5 games this year but two of those wins were against Oklahoma and Baylor, they were a missed FG from 6-6,and a missed FG from atl east forcing OT with Oklahoma State.
If they can get that TCU co-OC and turn that offense around, I think Texas will be pretty happy next year.
December 6th, 2015 at 11:06 AM ^
December 6th, 2015 at 8:28 AM ^
But according to reports Richt said know before Miami got involved.
Now, to me, it was obvious that he was headed to Miami the day he was fired.
But UGA took a swing at him in some recruiting capacity and S. Carolina offered him the HC job. He said no to both and went to the U.
He could've stayed in the SEC and moved just hours away.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:01 AM ^
Choice #9...that's awful.
They should've just kept the interim guy for another year and tried again next season.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:04 AM ^
away from other SEC schools always plays well with the fan bases down there. Even if its a bad hire. This is probably a bad hire, but its South Carolina and they've already had the greatest 10 year stretch they'll ever have.
On the flip side, its a shame we won't get to witness RR turn a respectable SEC program into a complete clown show.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:10 AM ^
this is just abysmal for them
I mean, it's not even like he had a good year at Auburn
