They should have changed it to the Fighting Sue. They wouldn't have to change any of their chants or fight song, and with a name like Sur, they'd have to be tough as nails. Just ask Johnny Cash.

So sad that they even had to change it in the first place. The wussification and oversensitivity of our society blows my mind.

So sorry if I offended someone with my opinion.../S

There are all kind of offensive names. I'm surprised that Central Michigan is still the Chippewas.

Here's my fav:

Go ahead and Google it. You'll find fightin' Scots, Swedes, Tartars, Spartans, Vandals, Cajuns, Norse, Highlanders, Aztecs, Quakers, Mountaineers, Celts, Britons, Athenians, Samurai, Saxons. Oh, and you'll find a ton of teams who caved and changed their names.

...I also don't like having to use new words or treat people with respect or distinguish between different situations. How come I can't just smash stuff? Where my country gone?

I am going to laugh my ass off when the PC pendulum swings back the other way. Although it was my generation that started this BS back in the 90's. Not me though. Those other people.

North Dakota was in limbo, going without an advertised nickname for months since at least last year's NCAA hockey tournament.

And after all this time and $200,000, THAT name is what they came up with?

I'm offended as a sports fan.
