Why would he leave Arizona? He's in a place with modest to average expectations, where the fanbase cares more about basketball and won't be breathing down his neck if he loses a couple games.

Why trade that to go to a place where they'll be expecting him to compete for national titles every year? Miami will have sky high expectations for whoever it's next coach is, and honestly, I don't take Rodriguez as the kind of guy who wants to be around all the vice, glitz and glamour that Coral Gables offers. And even if he does, I doubt Miami will want to invest in a guy that doesn't believe in defense.

FYI ... local sports radio here in Tucson is grumbling a bit about how the Wildcats are doing. Nothing close to calls for dismissal, but some griping about defense and not doing as well as hoped after last year's 10 - 2 regular season record.

The absence of Scooby Wright mitigates some of the complaints about defense, but not all.

Agree a move to Miami is unlikely and unwise.

Talent was never an issue for RichRod, he always got the players he wanted. Would load up heavily with 3 stars, sprinkle in a couple of 4 stars, never bothered with the 5 stars. His teams performed to their talent level, and still do.

Yeah, bring him back for a couple of years and tell him to set it up the way he had it in the first place.

Go full-thug, nobody cares, especially the NCAA. Bring back the camo's and the rappers and the rap sheets.  It's Miami, FL not Miami, OH.  It's what people want.

I'm only half joking.

RR would be the perfect hire. He's got excellent connections in the region. The ACC coastal division is really up for grabs. There is no dominant team right now. I think he's doing a great job at Arizona but the reality is he will never be able to compete with USC and UCLA especially if USC gets back with a monster hire

What a difference a year makes....  under Hoke, we never worried about losing any coaches to any other team.  Under Harbaugh, we will have to closely watch every coaching job that opens because we actually have... well you know... good coaches.

I read an article after the game and the AD said he would wait until the season was over. Quite contradictory. Edit: must have been some Brandon type shit from the students.
