Hasn't been relevant since Nebraska was relevant. This program should be a perennial power house. Scary if they ever hire a real top notch coach what they could become again.

I don't know, should it? Other than the period from 1983 to 2001, it's not like it has a ton of history as a program. It is a smaller, private school as well. While it is in a recruiting hotbed in south Florida, it has to compete for those recruits with FSU and UF, as well as virtually every program in the country trying to poach talent from Florida. It certainly could be a powerhouse again, but I don't think it's some foregone conclusion it will, or that it's in any way inevitable. They need a slam-dunk hire. A Miami version of a Harbuagh, for instance...

Yeah you have to wonder if in 10 years we'll be looking back on Oregon the same way we're looking at Miami now. A program with relatively little history who becomes dominant for 10-20 years, and the goes back to being mediocre. Granted, Miami is in a much better recruiting area than Oregon is.

I'm not sure they should be a perennial powerhouse anymore than UCF or South Florida should be a perennial power.  Take away all the funny business and shennigans that took place during the 80's and 90's and Miami has been a very mediocre program.

Or, perhaps, maybe just maybe, BRADY HOKE?!?!?!!!?!?!?!?!? Talk about bringing swagger to a program.

There's not enough good ones to go around. Lots of programs are going to have to settle for sloppy seconds and give it another go in a few years.

Sure glad we're out of that mess for a while.
