Saturday Weather: 20 MPH winds
Yes, it will be wet, but IMHO the bigger issue will be the 20 MPH winds:

ground and pound

The biggest impact this will have is when Harbaugh spits his chew. It is really hard to control your spit in 20 mph winds. Needs to make good decisions otherwise chew spit could end up on half the team.
Short spits close to the ground would be best in these conditions.
By the way anybody know what his brand is? I would like to try it and see if it makes me tougher.

Total shot in the dark here, but I'm guessing he's a Cope or Grizz man. Definitely no Skoal for him.

I'm pretty sure Harbaugh and numerous assistants were squirreling away chew during the spring game. I guess the tobacco rules don't count for practices?
I tried chew once, it was horrible. I always figured baseball players picked up the habit because they were so bored....it doesn't seem like football players would do it too but what do I know? I'm a pencil-necked geek.

Harbaugh absolutely still chews during our games. No doubt about it. The NCAA will probably let it slide because...well...Harbaugh.
I used to chew a bit back in college when I was pouring concrete as a summer job. It definitely gives you one hell of a head buzz. No idea how ball players can stay coordinated with a big chomper in.

The NCAA will probably let it slide because...well...Harbaugh.Pretty sure that's not how rule enforcement works.
October 1st, 2015 at 12:46 PM ^
Is that a joke? Have you not seen how the NCAA operates yet?

I chewed for years. loved it. Everything was better with a chew in. I quit when I had kids.
But when I hit 65 (if) I am starting again. Can't wait. So excited.
October 1st, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
Lol. Is this serious? Do yourself a favor and stay off of it...

One of my biggest fears is that Harbaugh doesn't drop that nasty habit.
Northwood University in Midland County lost its football coach and associate athletic director, Pat Riepma after 21 years with the university. He was just 54 years old. He had throat and mouth cancer that eventually spread to his lungs and killed him.
Yes, he chewed.
October 1st, 2015 at 2:13 PM ^
This.
I know it's irrational, but I feel the same way about Harbaugh as I do about anyone I see with a dip in: you're going to either lose half your face before all is said and done or be killed by cancer before it gets that far. And it's going to be disgusting either way.
I'd say ask Tony Gwinn, but we already know how that one ended up. Gone way too early for a completely stupid reason.

Seriously at 65 I figure I only have 20 years left max so why not go out happy
October 1st, 2015 at 1:19 PM ^
I'm not going to lecture you, but does chewing make you happier than spending as much time as possible with your family? Chewing is much safer than cigarettes, but it's still a pretty bad and easily avoidable habit.
October 1st, 2015 at 1:31 PM ^
You only say that because you've never seen anyone with most of their jaw removed, or major gum surgery to repair their massively ravaged soft tissues.
I know, that stuff only happens to other people, right?
Sorry, I have the best intentions when I say I used to chew seriously and I HIGHLY recommend you ask yourself if its worth the risk of spending your last 10 years eating out of a bucket.

Don't tell me how to live my life dad.... sorry just had a flashback to high school.
In all seriousness I did love to chew but am very happy I quit. It will be 4 years in a week and despite my tough talk I would never go back because I couldnt do it to my family.
October 1st, 2015 at 2:23 PM ^
was worth the neg I received for my perceived lecture.
Seriously tho, I am happy to read about the family part. Go Blue! No chew--especially not in 20+ mile an hour winds.

I think the NFL has a rule against it, didn't stop Chad though

MD throwing picks every 10 passes, and they've yet to face a secondary or DL like UM's. Weather is potentially an equalizer. I think this time, it hurts MD more.

nm I see rcowing stole my joke already!
October 1st, 2015 at 12:32 PM ^
Maybe the wind will take their crappy throws and carry it to the WR?
October 1st, 2015 at 11:25 AM ^
Short passes to the TEs, Jake Butt & Co. should have a (wet) field day for whatever passing we do.

what apparal will the weather be wearing?!

Okay, I've heard a lot about this kid, but basic information is missing. What position does he play? I she a 5*?

Don't worry about it. Just like Hand, he's not coming.

Man up and go play football.
There have been 20mph gusts in Michigan Stadium this season. If it's a sustained wind, that'll be a little tougher, but it's tougher for both teams. Lock in, win your battle, do you job and go home with the W.
October 1st, 2015 at 11:28 AM ^
Thats good news. We have a perfect QB for screen passes and passes inside 10 yards. 20 MPH winds only serve to help our #2 ranked defense. Add to it our running game and I see nothing what so ever bad about 20 MPH winds.
October 1st, 2015 at 11:30 AM ^
I'd expect Butt to have a big game as he can benefit from receiving shorter passes in length than to our outside receivers.
October 1st, 2015 at 11:43 AM ^
I think Michigan should be OK.
October 1st, 2015 at 11:28 AM ^
Sounds like another big game for DeVeon then.

+1 for the Bill Murray reference.

Damn, this means Maryland's passes that would've normally been thrown right to our CB's for INTs will probably fall way short/long. Some of them might actually end up being completions
