Look I think we can be a 9 / 10 win team with this defense and a bit of improvement but we are not a contender. This defense is not going to show up lights out every week. Some weeks they wont be quite as good and im not sure the offense has enough to carry the team for a game.
The hype is cool and all but we dont look that great. Granted, we look much better than last year but our offense has looked pretty bad (except for a single half against BYU). In maddend ratings we are like: Offense - 73, Defense - 94, Special Teams - 87. Not sure thats playoff material

That was exciting and awesome the full on meltdowns did not come to fruition...we really need a good face off specialist. Has continued to kill us all year. Also would be swell if the offense had anyone who can beat the slide with either a move or a pass..but enough bitching. We aren't very good and should take any win we can with a smile
My guess is that practices were a bit harder than coach Hoke's and there are some signficant cutltural shifts occuring. Jack probably looked at the grind ahead of him and said, "I dont need this...im out, dueces"
Please explain to me how he was passed on the depth chart? I have ready every single bit of content coming out of both major pay sites and this site over hte past 3 weeks and have not heard a whisper of Jack getting passed. To me, this seems like he was sick of football and quit. No addition by subtraction bull shit. No bad fit etc.
I am with magnus...there is no way you can sell me on addition by subtraction. Miller was a starter and at the very least he would have been great depth. There is zero evidence out there that he had been passed on the depth chart (its been 4 practices for god sakes)
Not to be a Debbie downer but our defenseman are tiny and don't slide properly and our d middies can't stay on anyone's hip. If we got torn up against Jacksonville we were bound to get dominated by a team like brown with real talent
I understand why they did. He built the program up from the ground and he deserved the opportunity to prove he could hang with the big dogs. It would have been unfair in my opinion to cut him without affording him the chance to prove it.
At this point though (based really on this game and last couple years results) the team should be further along. I shouldn't watch a team so fundamentally unsound it makes me want to turn the damn thing off. It would be one thing to not have the jimmys and joes but for God Saks, is there one kid on Jacksonville that even got a look from us or a similar level program? Likely no
This is bush league lacrosse. We have a long way to go. For whatever reason our defense is incredibly undisciplined. Our defenders slide looking for stick (instead of body) and when they whiff the hail mary take away check they give up the inside roll (saw that three times) for a goal. The slide man should pinch underneath and the man on the ball should stay high. For whatever reason we don't do that. Not sure what the hell the coaches are teaching but that's grade A bush league summer league shit. I suspect our coaching staff has a brady hoke in them and will need to be upgraded before the team takes the next step.
Tuned in for the first time this year as I am an out of towner to see if the team has finally turned the corner..nope. Still suck. Still have an average coach.
UCLA has not done jack shit under Mora. They havent won the conference (I am not sure if they have even played in the pac-12 championship) or played in a "BCS" bowl. Real talk, this year was a bit of an anomoly with tons of head to head match ups, I really can't remember UCLA appearing too much on the recruiting radar (this is probably more a USC and Oregon problem than a Michigan problem)
They arent breaking shit because there are very very large bouncers there who will punch you in the face if you decide to do so...and dont tell me they wont harm you, because that would mean you have never been in a bar
So I am responding a little late to the thread and the hate session but wanted to point out a couple things for everyone on the board 1) this happens every single year 2) the fraternities budget these damages (probably around 15k not 50k) into their "ski trip" planning 3) other than the pain in the ass factor, the hotels typically sue the fraternity or settle for some amount that allows them to rennovate for free and for reasonable lost income from the condos being out of comission..I am not condoning this behavior as its idiotic, moronic and juvenile, but this is nothing new and has been going on for about 10 years..interestingly enough many fraternities (including mine) stopped going on these trips as a result of the damages and the liabilities associated

If they want to create some delusional alternate reality around the situation..then so be it. All i know is any time you drop a Sandusky line to a Penn Stater..there face turns green. That magic will never go away. No matter how many wins or scholarships are restored
