We were pretty conservative and absolutely buried them. Coaches know what the team is and have them in position to succeed. We won by 31. If I complained too much I would just be pathetic.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
Yeah, like half the people in the game thread. The way people bitch about a 10-0 team is nauseating. The open thread was pathetic today
November 12th, 2022 at 11:58 PM ^
1/2? I don’t know what game thread you’re reading but it’s like a minimum of 7/8ths up in here!
November 12th, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
This coaching staff is definitely doing a great job. No hot takes to serve up here.
November 12th, 2022 at 6:55 PM ^
survive. advance. repeat.
November 12th, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
Harbaugh’s coaching in games where he doesn’t respect the opponent is hilariously stubborn.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
At least he passed in the red zone instead of running it up the middle 4 times in a row. That's a huge improvement.
November 12th, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
10-0 with basically zero close games. Incredible coaching efforts are the norm for this team.
November 12th, 2022 at 6:57 PM ^
Doing a masterful job of keeping our downfield passing attack away from OSU's prying eyes!
November 12th, 2022 at 7:46 PM ^
Yeah ... The prolific pushing game... 😭
November 12th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
It’s rarely so obvious that the plan is “don’t get hurt, don’t put anything on tape.” But it was obvious.
And for this program it was a perfectly rational choice.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Except Morris got hurt and should never have been on the field in that situation.
November 13th, 2022 at 7:07 AM ^
After watching us bludgeon the center of the line repeatedly on offense, I'd expected to see a few, some option or RPO plays for McCarthy to run. But no.
Like OSU is going forget that we have those plays in the playbook.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:00 PM ^
We are 10-0 and will still be undefeated when we play OSU. Whose asses we are going to kick in 2 weeks.
And that's all I have to say about that.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:03 PM ^
Didn't like the time management at the end of the 1st half. Seemed like we could've had a TD there instead of a FG if a Madden kid was on the timeout usage.
Otherwise not much to complain about.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:08 PM ^
Didn't like it? It was fucking ridiculous. By declining the penalty they netted 1 yard. If they take it the clock stops and its 2nd and 5. There was 23 seconds. 3 timeouts. Pick up a 1st down anywhere along the line and you definetly have time for 5 plays, maybe 6. They ran 3 including the FG and left 1 second on the clock and 2 TO's. Once the whilstle blew to start the clock 9 seconds ticked off before the snap - while you're sitting on 3 TO's. Way fucking puzzling.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:15 PM ^
Yeah, didn't like it. My criticism is a bit muted in a 34-3 win where the game was never in doubt. But, I agree. It seemed like the plan was to prevent Nebraska from getting the ball back, no matter the cost. That doesn't make much sense given the NEB offense matchup vs UM's defense, but I can't think of another reason to be sitting on those timeouts for so long.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
The only thing that I could think of at that time was protecting Corum's rushing yards from turning into penalty yards, but they still could have called the time out right after declining the penalty.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
This, taking the penalty took 6 yds off his total. Should have called a TO however.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
No way did Harbaugh decline the penalty because of Corum's stats. Was just a bad coaching decision.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:35 PM ^
He didn't want Nebraska to get the ball back. He was fine finishing the half with a field goal.
November 12th, 2022 at 8:49 PM ^
He declined the penalty because he wasn't sure how hurt his punter was, and that might have been the best punt he was going to get.
November 12th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
But we've all seen this with Harbaugh since he's been here. It's both infuriating and totally baffling, given his high level success as a former NFL coach.
November 12th, 2022 at 9:06 PM ^
Unlike his low level success here since 2020....
November 13th, 2022 at 12:12 AM ^
Cameras picked up JH after the FG and you could see he was pissed and shaking his head. It really was a terrible sequence of plays and missed timeouts.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
Yeah, that one seemed like a mistake, they wanted to limit the opponents chances with the ball, but ended up limiting their own. Don't think they'll be doing that in important games, though.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:30 PM ^
Abysmal clock management. But, honestly, I really don't think he cared much. He probably figured it was no big deal, since Michigan was getting the ball to start the 3Q.
Still, it's maddening to see him pass up an opportunity to work on a specialty situation.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
I thought the clock would remain stopped even if the penalty was declined. Maybe the coaches made the same mistake? I realize it's their job to actually know the rule, but either way, not a great moment.
November 12th, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
All I know for sure is they started with over four minutes on the clock, took their sweet time, and ran out of time to go for the TD while having timeouts remaining. Maddening.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:23 PM ^
I knew the rule because I checked into it when a similar situation happened earlier this year. So, there’s no excuse for the coaching staff not knowing it.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:03 PM ^
10-0 record. 414-112 point differential.
They've done pretty well.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
10 & 0. 3 points allowed in second halfs of last five games combined. This team brings it every week. Maybe clock management learning opportunity today. Love the effort they put out.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:14 PM ^
3 points allowed in second halfs all season.
The statistic is from the IU game on. On the season I think we've given up 31 points in the second half. But still.
November 12th, 2022 at 9:09 PM ^
Thanks for pointing this out, and with civility. I must have misheard the radio broadcast and ran with. My bad.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:27 AM ^
31 second half points this season? That’s over one field goal per game. Oh the humanity!
November 12th, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Maryland had the 4th quarter TD
November 12th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
Not sure if folks here have seen the ferret thing over on Reddit but the last few games have been spot on 😂
November 12th, 2022 at 7:36 PM ^
accurate
poor ferret
they had it coming
November 12th, 2022 at 8:25 PM ^
Remember this, from the last NC year?
November 12th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
The offensive play calling had to adapt to the sub par passing. The passing play calls were there but the execution was inconsistent to say the least.
Defensive plays call were stellar.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:18 PM ^
Scott Frost destroyed the Nebraska football program. Pathetic. Fuck him. He should be ashamed...
November 12th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
How fun was that to type?!?
November 13th, 2022 at 10:30 AM ^
And, they gave him an extra $ 7.5M to leave three weeks early. Ridiculous and pathetic.
Nebraska has the current “longest streak” to not achieve bowl eligibility - I believe five (or six) years.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
Kicking field goal at the end was a nice move for those who bet Michigan. The line was 28
November 12th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
Did the coaches just get our best pass rusher, Mike Morris, injured two weeks before OSU by playing him with 6 minutes left in the game, up 28 points, against Nebraska's 3rd string QB? If so, that is a monumental coaching fail.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:16 AM ^
Mike Morris got hurt, which absolutely sucks, and if it's serious, the timing could not be worse. But calling anything the coaching staff is doing with respect to this defense "a monumental coaching fail" is insane.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
Rabble rabble rabble
November 12th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
Everyone wants the super sexy flashy offense putting up highlights.
Harbaugh just wants to slobber knock a win and keeps that flashy stuff for when it matters.
That’s my take.
November 12th, 2022 at 7:30 PM ^
I believe that, or at least would like to believe that, but I think the concerns that are driving some fans are Harbaughs 2-10 record in The Game and Bowls, which I think are valid concerns. I think those records improve this year, but the records are there.
