Which Trick Plays Would You Like To See Tonight?
It seems that we've had 1-2 good trick plays for many of our important games this year. Of course, we've thrown a lot of flea flickers, but Gattis always seems to find a new one to throw at a new team. So, my question for the board before tonight's game: What trick plays do you expect to see or would want to see us pull out? Especially if we are having a difficult time moving the ball, I think Gattis could throw out a few different ones to spark an explosive gain.
Personally, especially after using Edwards so effectively for a double pass in the B1G Championship game, I would love to see us use that with JJ. I always loved when we ran the transcontinental back to the QB. We have the athletes and the downfield blocking to rip them with a quick screen to Edwards from JJ, then a double pass back to JJ with a convoy down the opposite sideline. Back in the day, WolverineHistorian made a video about this play being used during the Carr era. Ironically, John Navarre was the only one to actually score at TD with it.
Let's go blue. Beat Georgia.

The ones that go for touchdowns!

The one where Billy Bob runs down field and acts like he’s lost

How about the one where they pretend the football is a baby and then everyone gets car insurance?
December 31st, 2021 at 7:03 PM ^
...LOL, that could work tonight
December 31st, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
Probably low-hanging fruit here but...flea flicker. To the extent that that's a trick play.
Otherwise, the kickoff return pass.

The ones that work.

A drive of triple option with the Diamond backfield with JJ at QB. JJ, HH, Corum, and Edwards. Pick your poison

I would like to see trick plays so original that I wouldn't think to post them on a blog.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:34 PM ^
I would like to see trick plays so old that Fritz Crisler posted them on his blog.

Set up a screen wide, H2 leading Donovan.
JJ laterals back to Donovan.
Bomb down the slot back to JJ.
December 31st, 2021 at 4:47 PM ^
Donovan can throw and JJ can run and catch.
Get JJ loose and unaccounted for!
December 31st, 2021 at 4:41 PM ^
Quarterback acts confused at steps towards the sideline to get the call and ball direct snapped to RB.
December 31st, 2021 at 4:46 PM ^
I can't remember which team I saw try this last night but I thought the same thing, would be nice to see.
I'm seriously thinking we see a new play tonight that is going to get a big gain if not a touchdown.

I am a goofball, I don't care. I am pretty freakin excited.
Cade, JJ, Donovan in shotgun wishbone.
Who gets the snap?
Who might throw it?
Good lord...more than two hours to go...

Hassan Haskins jump pass
December 31st, 2021 at 5:12 PM ^
I like the jump pass suggestion.
On the other hand, have never liked what we have done with two QBs on the field at the same time. Those plays have been worthless.
December 31st, 2021 at 4:50 PM ^
Trick play I wanna see is a fake kneeldown into a long bomb to Wilson or Johnson where it doesn’t really matter if we complete it… because we do it out of the victory formation in the final minute up two scores.

Statue of Liberty
or
The play where the QB - probably McCarthy runs a keeper but stops at the LOS and tosses to a wide open TE.
Denard used to run that quite successfully.

I want Cade McNamara to take a knee as the 4th quarter clock runs down.
Or didn't I understand the assignment?
GO BLUE!

Anything that works. On a side note, I swear to god I'm going to pistol-whip the next guy who says "trickeration."

“Wrong ball”. Don’tcha think it could work?
December 31st, 2021 at 4:58 PM ^
Something based off the Henning jet motion/Edwards flat motion. Seems like the perfect set up for a new variation.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:04 PM ^
Run the same play that Edwards threw out of and let schoooooon streak on the other side. Fake the throw to the rb.

The “Beat Georgia” one
December 31st, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
Not a trick play but would love to see Cade keep it on the Arc Read 2 or 3 times. He isn't a world beater but since he never keeps, easily go for about 10 yards a pop and then would really keep Georgia's d line off balance
December 31st, 2021 at 5:13 PM ^
Would also love to see a designed draw play for Cade, perhaps out of the same look we use when we sneak out a TE on a delay. Have the TE block an LB and let Cade take it for 15+.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:28 PM ^
Fake screen left, fake screen right, TE wide open in the middle. Haven't seen it since JH first year here.

Fake punt, Michael Barrett run or pass.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:36 PM ^
The one where Dax parachutes onto the field after the opening kickoff and immediately runs the jet sweep for 6!
December 31st, 2021 at 5:42 PM ^
Just a plain old dime from Donovan to AA for 6, and CJ blocking a punt and someone from Michigan then lateraling back to Dax to return it for a td.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:42 PM ^
Haskins for six touchdowns would be great

Ones that GA don’t know about or expect.

Logged in just to say transcontinental. Would also like to see some special teams trickeration and a play with both QBs.or Haskins and Corum.

Touchdown trick left.

Navarre had a solid TD and could have run more, but Gonzalez had 53 yards, think he had the longest yardage on the video.
So giving some credit there, too.
December 31st, 2021 at 5:52 PM ^
Some pop passes by our RBs on the run and by JJ on the run behind the GA LB's when they over commit to stop the run.
