10/16/2017 - 8:58am Run / Pass D

I’d prefer we shut down the run and QB scrambles, making them beat us with his arm puts us in the best position to succeed

10/14/2017 - 12:25pm “Nordin for Heisman!”

“Nordin for Heisman!” - a comment to be spoken with legitimate sincerity in the near future...

09/22/2017 - 9:28am USC / WISC

Taking a look at the injury list for some other teams really sheds light on how lucky our current list is... USC and Wisconsin look lucky to be even fielding enough players to play at this point...

09/07/2017 - 6:37pm Best line

I've scored as many touchdowns as the Florida offense! Priceless stuff.

09/07/2017 - 6:49am Meritocracy

Examples like this show just how much more admirable Harbaugh's meritocracy is compared to other programs. Seems like the players, staff, and fans appreciate earning your right to play a lot more too.

08/31/2017 - 6:42am Minimum number of players

Honest question, what number would be the absolute minimum number of players they could still play a game with after all the suspensions? I mean, it'd be fun to see the same 11 out there all game...

08/28/2017 - 9:01am ACL kraken

They apparently didn't reach their ACL sacrifice quota...

08/18/2017 - 8:57am Pocket presence

Kid has the best QB pocket presence I've ever seen from a high school QB... remarkable he's so lowly rated, his intelligence shows dramatically on the field. Tip of the hat to the Harbaugh staff for finding this one, looks like a proper MI QB to me.

08/16/2017 - 5:07pm Rotation

I've often believed that there is a fine line between too much or too little substitution. I like to think there is a strategy to creating beneficial mismatches, even if just to confuse your opponent with uncertainty. I'd like to see modern football develop into a system similar to hockey, with line rotation being designed to maximize energy / skill. I would prefer a rotation with another athlete at full energy but 90% effectiveness over a proficient athlete at 75% energy any day. This depends a lot on position group and specialties, but can also lead to more experience for younger players, less injuries from playing fatigued, and a strategic advantage over your opponent.

08/11/2017 - 11:29am Tru Wilson DB??

Why would Tru be with the DBs?? I know our RB spot is stocked, but I haven't heard anything about a position switch...

08/10/2017 - 11:37am Draftageddon

But how does this affect the draftageddon class??

08/10/2017 - 8:06am Mo Hurst on the QB battle

I love that they asked Mo about any info he may have on the QB battle... "...I honestly don't know anything about that.."

08/09/2017 - 12:49pm Hurdles

Lots more hurdles than I'm used to seeing from a big guy, he's seriously nimble on his feet

08/09/2017 - 12:38pm Thumper

...you can call me Thumper, if you want to!

08/05/2017 - 10:33pm This thread was made for me

Just my 2 cents for being a playbook junkie... I would very much like to add that our current roster yields many advantageous matchups against even elite defenses. With the addition of coach Frey, I'm highly anticipating more spread zone runs, especially with the new 4 WR sets. Our new OL will be more accustomed to the proper zone principles soon, I can't wait to see what Harbaugh does with our RB by committee this year

08/03/2017 - 2:44pm Mmm content

2019 will be a ridiculous year for 'crootin... can't wait to see that #1 overall recruiting ranking finally be ours!

08/03/2017 - 9:55am Seconds / milliseconds

New requirement for 'There are...' posts... you have to break it down by seconds, with associated players' #'s. I need more math in my morning countdown apparently

07/31/2017 - 12:54pm Nervous

I was getting nervous about this one, we hadn't heard anything from Emil either until recently. Glad to hear both have solidified commitments, can't wait to see them in Blue!

07/31/2017 - 9:09am Spaceballs reference

Thanks for this, I LOL'ed far too loudly. It was the first thing that popped into my head too.

07/31/2017 - 9:03am DPJ Spring vs. Fall

Willing to bet DPJ gets a heavy rotation with a variety of WR positions, the slot included. Apparently he was banged up a bit in the Spring, my best guess would be he beats out Tarik eventually for the starting WR2 spot next to Kekoa at WR1. Can't wait to see the 4 WR sets for this year though, should definitely add a variety to our playbook and the preparation time it takes for opposing defenses need to spend to counter it opens up our manball game very nicely

07/29/2017 - 12:10pm Road grader vs pass pro

Nice to see us land another solid run blocker interior type, the last few commits have definitely projected more to the outside. Excited for his potential, especially to land him against OSU and Bama, out of bad guy country no less

07/28/2017 - 3:16pm FAALELE

It's happening!! I'll actually be able to pick out a specific lineman from row 84 with ease after the mountain commits...!

07/28/2017 - 8:29am Smallish competition

Poor guys he was playing against looked to be around 240 lbs most of the time... excited to see his potential against real competition in practice, hopefully we redshirt appropriately with our young guys, looks like this one will be very ready by year 1-2.

07/28/2017 - 8:16am Double post oops

Sorry, first double post. Moms, please take my pound of flesh as punishment

07/28/2017 - 8:15am This friday

Seemed bangable... Here's to some weekend commitments after the BBQ!

07/28/2017 - 8:14am This friday

Seemed bangable... Here's to some weekend commitments after the BBQ!

07/27/2017 - 12:07pm Tru Wilson

Another RB nobody mentions, Tru is probably 6-7th on the depth chart. I'd love to see him in mop-up duty against the Rutgers' of the world, such a fun little scat back to watch.

07/27/2017 - 11:58am Rashan Gary new #

If triple digits ever start, my vote for Rashan's # would be 666... apocalypse is imminent

07/27/2017 - 11:18am Not just any Rookie

I'd say Harbaugh let DPJ earn that #, Perry coming back didn't warrant him getting his old one back. I think DPJ still prefers 9 from high school

07/25/2017 - 4:56pm Speight off-season

Supposedly Speight had off-season surgery as well, so his spring game may not have been an accurate indication of his level of play. Excited to see how he does with 100% health again, all signs point to him as the starter against UF

07/21/2017 - 12:15pm Schadenfreude

Topic of the season... seems like a rare thing not to have such constant distractions and losses to the team. I love the way Harbaugh maintains the culture of Michigan men, so refreshing to not be worried about these things any more.

07/21/2017 - 10:52am Hours

How many player pics would it take to list the countdown in hours?? Those with proper time on their hands, please assist!

07/20/2017 - 3:20pm Crouch / Cain

I'd be ecstatic if we landed either RB, both look tremendous. 2019 recruiting is looking like an all-time best recruiting class already.

07/20/2017 - 11:58am Test for our young WRs

Sorry to see our young WRs miss out on an important test early, however I'm sure this tips the scales a bit in our favor in that matchup. Be very interested to see if Speight aggressively attacks this defense now without their best DB

07/20/2017 - 11:54am West coast crootin'

Eager to see if he can pull more of the west coast talent our way, seems like Harbaugh has a clever eye for targeting talent-rich areas with staffing specialists like this one

07/19/2017 - 9:11pm Pettiness

Sorry I thought I was pointing to their pettiness for complaining about being left out (again)... turned out I was the petty one for pointing out their pettiness? My bad all.

07/17/2017 - 9:37pm I absolutely love

When the opponent takes the opportunity to feed our incentive in the gym!

07/17/2017 - 1:05pm D-Line Deathstar

...is almost fully operational. Next year will be incredible, we have Dwumfour and some others not mentioned waiting to crack the rotation as well. Very excited to see the effect Rashan Gary's leadership and example plays on the development of the younger guys coming in as well, hopefully all those intangibles get passed on too

07/14/2017 - 12:22pm D-line depth

Seems like our 2nd and 3rd string depth will be a significant improvement in the next year or two... even after graduating so many quality d-linemen last year, it seems like we'll have enough to reload with weapons for years to come! I like all the high-upside 'projects' that seem to have proper time to develop at the correct positions we've taken recently, really bodes well for the future when we don't have to rush guys into the rotation

07/11/2017 - 12:42pm Asiasi

Asiasi will be at the top of this list soon, hard to see him succeed in a different jersey, but wish him good luck!

07/08/2017 - 8:40am Are your Wormleys

...are belong to us

07/05/2017 - 10:21am Punter / Kicker

I'll go with the wildly un-sexy guesses of the truly under-valued: Nordin / Robbins. Without excellent special teams and field position, we wouldn't have the success we did last year. Here's to hoping that tradition continues this year!

07/03/2017 - 1:33pm CMH or DIB

I can't remember if it was CMH or Deron Irving-Bey, but Sparty was fighting hard for one of these guys... all the sweeter to see our # 7-8 D lineman would've started on theirs..!

06/23/2017 - 2:32pm Every MSU news article

Seems like every article and thread that has come out recently regarding MSU's upcoming year is pointing to disaster... hopeful optimism isn't even a reality at this point, I'd say 2-3 wins would be an impressive season with the depth they currently have

06/23/2017 - 6:45am $ in the NFL

This thread is exactly why I can't enjoy the NFL, anytime you consider players and strategy you have to consider money as well. The lions haven't been fun to watch since Barry Sanders retired.

06/22/2017 - 4:46pm Faalele

I don't mind the more agile lighter O-line prospects, but big Dan Faalele would be a sure thing against the giant D-linemen we seem to find 2-3 times per year. Seems like every now and then we find an immovable object, where the only counter is to find a bigger/stronger object. I'm pretty sure Faalele will be a monster after a few months with our staff and training

06/21/2017 - 6:52am Safeties

Safeties are also very useful on special teams, where it pays to have good tacklers in space. Special teams players also get banged up pretty often, so it's helpful to have a deep reserve.

06/21/2017 - 6:43am Faalele

As long as we save a scholarship for big Dan Faalele I'm happy!

06/19/2017 - 4:50pm Alim McNeill vs Rashan Gary

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see Alim McNeill and his progress too for a big guy that can move, but Rashan is bigger (287 lbs) than Alim (280), and faster (4.57 40-yard dash) compared to Alim's (4.65). He's an intriguing prospect, but it really puts Rashan's elite athletic stats into perspective in comparison
