There's always room for one more!
Edit: Now I can't get that old beer jingle out of my head...that was a long time ago...damn I'm getting old :)

Yeah, he was the starter but broke his leg in the middle of the 2018 season. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. He was 11-5 as a starter and threw 25 TDs and 10 INTs during his career there.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:43 PM ^
I will take him at michigan.

Mork would be silly not to kick the tires on JJ.
Coaching staff feeling good about a grad transfer, also new OC may have helped us keep a skill player from leaving. Not 100% yet.
Cheers

Does the continuation of Pep hurt said chances at keeping the skill player? Is that why it's not 100%?
Ugh... A conundrum of perplexing complexity...
January 24th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
Not sure. I asked Falk about Pep, he acted surprised I was inquiring. I saw someone else on here compared the Pep situation to TD 2 years ago. It's funny, but it also feels almost spot on. Based on the little intel I have the money seems to be biggest thing keeping him here.
One other interesting thing is Falk was very close with GM and his family (which all lives in Michigan). He is visibly hurt/confused about Matty. No sources on this, but I feel strongly that something happened not reported yet.
Cheers

What level of despair would said transfer cause?
January 24th, 2019 at 1:00 PM ^
Some say it would leave a black hole
January 24th, 2019 at 1:50 PM ^
Hmm I thought that one was thoroughly debunked

This transfer portal is like recruiting 2.0.
January 24th, 2019 at 7:25 AM ^
NCAA "free" agency
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:09 PM ^
I don't see how this relevant to us. We have no room for another QB, especially not a 3-star with injury history like this kid.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:13 PM ^
The title pretty much explains how this is relevant to us. Did you read the title?
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:40 PM ^
He started for a year and a half. Any coach thinking about going after him is going to look at his tape at VT, not his recruiting ranking.
January 24th, 2019 at 6:56 AM ^
Yea because college coaches will ignore his 16 starts and game film from college football games in favor of what recruiting services thought while he was in high school.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
I wish they had the transfer portal in ncaa14...?
January 24th, 2019 at 11:36 PM ^
Transfers only left they never came. Mostly because of 25 man classes year after year plus redshirts. Totally Saban’d with 125 recruits by year 5. ‘Cruit, Cut, Repeat! The NCAA mgoblog was always whining about how dirty I was as a coach. I would fill my championship cup up with their tears every time i felt a thirst coming on.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
Wasn’t he the sure fire starter? Odd.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
I heard he's like Aaron Rodgers, but stronger and faster and with a better arm.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
more like aaron rodgers and paul bunyan, but with usain bolt kind of speed.
January 24th, 2019 at 8:25 AM ^
Wow, with that kind of ability Fred Jackson must be the proudest parent ever! Only prouder.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
The one year Michigan doesn't need a QB and there have been a ton of great options out there.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:40 PM ^
Don’t worry. This is the new norm. None of these kids want to stick around and battle it out like Brady/Henson, Simms/Applewhite, and Grossman/Palmer did in the old days.
January 23rd, 2019 at 11:04 PM ^
Nor should they.
January 24th, 2019 at 1:40 AM ^
No, they should. Because that was how it was like in the 50s. Life was good back then.

They were behind the bad wall right? The one meant to keep its citizens safe by seperating families? Whew glad those times are behind us. Lesson learned amirite?

Get your head out of the sand
January 24th, 2019 at 9:39 AM ^
I thought Lloyd putting Henson in was a crime (back then, and in retrospect) because Henson hadn't earned it yet. At various points Brady credited that battle as a contributing factor as to what made him the GOAT. I get transferring if you're never going to get to play where you are at, but you need to compete to be a competitor. Weird that Jackson is transferring.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
One of the more impressive high school players I've seen in person. Absolutely tore defenses apart at Saline. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:48 PM ^
If I missed it I cannot find a link to it so, has anyone like Magnus, etc. done any articles on available portal guys that would fit at Michigan, based on anticipating needs? I saw the DT from OSU by way of IMG (Barrow?) and thought that would be worth taking.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:50 PM ^
The problem is Michigan doesn't have the space, especially for a guy who would have to sit out a year. They are already a few over the limit. It's probably going to be 1 guy max, and the guy from Rice is looking like the best bet.
January 23rd, 2019 at 11:09 PM ^
ESPN says he is going to be a graduate transfer and will be eligible right away.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:52 PM ^
MSU would be a good landing spot...maybe even Central with McElwain.
January 23rd, 2019 at 9:57 PM ^
Fred Jackson's kid? He has an arm like Peyton Manning, but stronger and is quicker than Denard.
January 23rd, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
During his recruitment I can’t remember who said it (amazingly it wasn’t Fred) but one recruiting insider said he had the best chance of that QB class to be the next Marcus Mariota.
January 23rd, 2019 at 10:03 PM ^
...and it's the most dramatic transfer ever. Like Shea Patterson or Russell Wilson's transfer, but even more so! This is basically Tom Brady transferring, only better. You'll need at least two cold beverages while you're processing this one.
January 23rd, 2019 at 11:26 PM ^
The Tathan Martell of transfers only less douchey-er.
