After any nuclear apocalypse only two things will be left alive - Meyer and Cockroaches. A strong argument can be made that they are one and the same.

Fuck O$U. That place is a joke.

His official title is "Assistant AD in Charge of Coverups and Other Nefarious Shit".

They really really didn't want Urban to... pull an Urban and head to USC next year.

They are going to find anyway possible to keep him involved with the football program. Now he can still talk to recruits while they are on visits and give advice to Day. He'll be the coach behind the curtains.

Just texted this to my friend from high school who went there for college (her father played football there)

Meyer named OSU Assistant AD

WOW!  OSU can't even pretend as to where they stand on the moral spectrum.

Harrison can likely get get a waiver to attend another school.  Shades of Mike Webber recruitment.

If I'm Meyer I'm going to USC and getting out of that shithole.

I thought MSU was ridiculous about keeping everything in house and over promoting from within, then osu goes ahead and raises the bar. Maybe the boys in Lansing will name Izzo president when engler slithers back into retirement to try to one up the buckeyes.

What an absolute fucking joke.  I think this is some buyer's remorse on osu's behalf.  I don't think they trust Day, so Urbz is being retained as a professor and asst AD so that when Day fails, urbz cyst will suddenly be gone and urbz can come save the day

There is no doubt in my mind he will still be coaching behind the scenes. OSU has one of the most corrupt athletic departments in the country. It is amazing what they will do to win sports, especially football.

For some reason I get the feeling this is actually just a way to add an additional coach. I have a feeling he will be coaching the football team as an assistant AD. Of course he doesn’t count towards the coaching numbers since he is not a hired coach.

I was glad he was gone, now I have a gut feeling he's gonna be very involved with the football program still. Will probably be calling plays from a private room with a headset on

hmmm

surprised he wasn't named President of the University?

they sold their soul to winning at football a long time ago so what does it matter?

might as well go all in with all your chips

Horrible people have one thing that allows them to keep functioning at positions of power and influence in this world.  They have conviction.  A staunch inner appraisal of themselves that reaffirms their perception that what they are doing is not wrong. There is a reason narcissistic assholes like Meyer( and others) exist.  They believe with all their inner fortitude that what they are doing is right.  When checked, they can either claim that someone or something else is at fault, or my personal favorite, they yell and interject louder than you.

This is just sad.  This football-crazed school of “higher learning” will soon probably name Jim Tressel as president without a Ph.D to replace their President Drake whom hasnt exactly been pleased with the the football operation of late.

Don’t ever be surprised.

I realize I have to walk a fine line posting here (like I've been doing for 5+ yrs), and I also understand the Michigan natives are restless, but this is direct from the Wisconsin-Barry Alvarez playbook.  The guy understandably can't handle the day-to-day role of coaching a powerhouse football program (including the recruiting aspect)- he has a cyst on this brain. This move keeps him involved in the program, utilizes his abilities so solicit donations, and keeps him in the bullpen as 'the closer' if needed for a recruiting pitch.

Since he had previously ceded non-special teams play calling to Day and Grinch/Schiano, he's not going to be radioing orders to Day from the pressbox.  If something blows up (like Bielema leaving for Arkansas rather than coach the bowl), he steps in temporarily.

I know it doesn't fit the whole 'sexing coeds, committing gangland murders on behalf of Aaron Hernandez's ghost, domestic abuse ring in the basement of a Columbus-area pizza and/or tattoo shop' narrative borne out of football stagnancy you folks have to espouse, but hey, you still root for the Harvard of the Midwest (well, except for those of you who renounce your fanhood after every loss).

(Sorry for the last paragraph; please ctrl-v one or more of the following):

A. Fuck OSU and fuck you

B. Don't crash your semi while posting

C. How lame that you visit your rival's site

D. Why did you do that in an otherwise perfectly fine cooler?

I remember sitting in a bar in '98 consoling my best friend(OSU diehard) saying it would be okay, all things even out in the end. Tressel changed things and I give him credit and some measure of respect. Meyer. Just look at the things you listed. Look at his history. Ask a Florida fan. I appreciate your measured response but c'mon man. The only thing worse than the people I mentioned two posts above are the people that believe and follow them.

No fine line to walk. You are free to spew whatever delusion you need. Cognitive dissonance is your friend, enjoy.

Everyone outside CBUS knows this guy is a lying scumbag.  Yes, he covered up crimes at UF for years. Yes, Aaron Hernandez was one of the players he helped get off the hook multiple times (drug tests, misdemeanors, rumors of gun violence!) at UF.  Did Meyer murder anybody? - Pretty sure he didn't, but he enabled a crap ton of criminal activity at UF.  Yes, and, of course, the whole co-ed thing.  But everyone deserves a second chance...

And what did he do with his?  Continued to win at all costs. His redemption and atonement tour at OSU was a farce (Zach Smith, etc).  Hell of a coach, hell of a recruiter, shit human being who was still a win at all costs scumbag.

But hey, he won you a crap ton of games and a National title, so I can see why you'd defend him...and your efforts to convolute the narrative are well scripted by citing our own fanbase's hyperbole of what a piece of shit Meyer is and how morally bankrupt OSU is.

But when all the banter is silenced, and the smoke clears, the image and legacy of the man is all that remains, and no amount of mental gymnastic with which you choose to engage or spin the narrative will change the fact that all other fanbases, the media, and any minimally observant Homo Sapien sees through the charade.  And no, it's not because he is incredibly successful and won a lot...it's because he's a hypocritical dirtbag win at all costs morally bankrupt narcissist.
