Quavaris Crouch to choose school at 6:30 tonight

Submitted by 1464 on December 21st, 2018 at 12:18 PM

Crouch will choose between Michigan, Tennessee, and Clemson.  Clemson is assumed to be out.  Tennessee insiders think he'll be a Vol.  Michigan tweeted that interesting picture with him in the class.  I'm not sure where this is going.  At least we will know tonight...

Tennessee must be pretty awesome for them to keep recruiting so well over the past 5 or so years considering how bad they've been for so long. Tennessee football has been butt. I guess bagmen could certainly be part of the equation, but they are recruiting way over their actual on-field performance

UT for sure.

Who wouldn't want to play for a school that was 5-7 last year?

One that was 2-6 in conference play?

One that got blasted by 25 points by a 6-6 Vanderbilt squad their final game of the season?

Nothing screams football success like those numbers.

I'm sure the all star game he was going to announce at loves this new development.   I'm guessing 90% of the people that watch those games are only interested in the commitments.

Well, does seem in the end Q wanted a little alone time with the recruiting world, well played Q.

Normally, I might be turned off by the drama .....of course the drama really is greatest if he chooses the team nobody thinks. So I'll let it slide this time.

you know, about a week ago, i posted that Crouch wasn't that crazy about Clemson and a poster said i didn't know what i was talking about.  no one really knows where he's going but he does have legit interest in michigan and loves harbaugh.  we often hear recruits talk about the "family atmosphere" here at UM and that's exactly what Crouch feels.  he feels harbaugh is real and that's one of the things in UM's favor.  I haven't heard much about TN but like I've said before, no one really knows where he'll end up.  I do know that Crouch is a terrific kid with a strong faith and he'll be great wherever he ends up.

As stated earlier, I have nothing left to sacrifice.  Can somebody give away (to a charity or hospital) some sort of UM or UM player memorabilia or paraphernalia that you treasure please?

The Michigan football gods need be fed!

If Tennessee gets this kid, this will basically be a football Brian Bowen-Louisville situation. School randomly comes in late in the process, after the leaders have been established, and suddenly gets all the crystal balls and nabs the kid

He's going Tennessee. Tennessee donors have clearly began dropping mega bags lately.

Eric Gray, now getting interest from 2020 5 Star out of Michigan Justin Rogers, 5 star Wanya Morris, next up Crouch

The most baffling is our in state product Rogers. It was a race between Ohio State and Georgia. Tennessee didn't even have a crystal ball and now he's randomly showing interest in Tenn-e-fucking-see

Me and my tinfoil hat thinks there is a Saban underpinning here. Tenn staff has ties to Saban, so rather than rat out a competitor, he gives them a little leash to recruit more against Michigan than himself. Possible? Sure. Happening? I have no idea, but it might make a compelling Lifetime movie...pass the Jack.

I am a long way from being a Donny Downer. My posts are generally very positive.  I think Michigan had a much better chance at getting Harrison last Wednesday then they do Crouch.  I beleive he was sincerely interested in Michigan.  But, there is almost a zero chance he commits to Michigan.  I think this is more about creating some buzz and/or suspense.  The only suspense is if he picks Tenn or Clemson.  Neither would surprise me.  If he chose Michigan I will eat............ MY WORDS!... Would really like to have him at Michigan but my order of importance this year to Michigan was:

1. Dax

2. Charbonnet

3. All the Oline recruits

4. Hinton

5. Smith

6. Crouch

7. Harrison

8. All the other GREAT recruits that signed.

I for one am thrilled at the class as it is and can't wait to see how some of these guys develop.

I'm not defending tennessee, who knows what's going on down there. But, it's not like they are new to recruiting success. butch jones had very good to great classes while he was there (3 top 5 classes per rivals). They just sucked, even in the east, because jones couldn't coach. Any other year, we wouldn't even care how tennessee fared. This year, however, we lost gray, lost solomon (in a quirky transfer) and might lose crouch to them. Meanwhile a school like arkansas has an even better class than tennessee, but we don't care. And, to top it off, ole miss was able to sign 28!!! recruits this year, after everything that happened there. Coming out with a top 10 class year in and year out (while not winning any championships in forever) is quite an accomplishment, especially for a staff that is willing to go out a limb for guys like Bell, Welschof and Ojaba.

Very mixed signals. Clemson doesn't think it's them. He told the WaPo that the two coaches who told him he could play both ways were Harbaugh and Dabo, but at the same time CBs are all for Tenn/Clemson.

He is Knoxville bound. Regardless of where this young man chooses to go, he is a success story. This kid grew up in arguably one of the worst neighborhoods in Charlotte. He has stayed on track academically and has never been in trouble with the law focusing instead on athletics and academics. He is a hard worker, team player and has a great attitude. Congrats kid! choose where you want to go. It's your body that will make the sacrifice and not the bodies of the whining internet posters who bruised their fingers playing Madden.
