Jeremy Birmingham ballz Dax to UM

Ohio St. guy Jeremy Birmingham flipped his ballz prediction for Daxton Hill from Bama to Michigan today. Don't know if he did it based on Sam saying the battle isn't done or something else.

I'm telling you, saban is going to the packers.Should probably wake up and go back to work, though.

Sill, there is this:

Before the Giants hired McAdoo in 2016, an intermediary from the Saban camp reached out to a top Giants official. Said Saban might be interested. There was contact between the two sides, and after a couple of days, the word came back: "His wife says she's not moving from Alabama"

And now this:

“You come to a crossroads and the expectations get so great, people get spoiled by success and there gets to be a lack of appreciation,” Terry lamented, “we’re kind of there now.”

Saban echoed this as well earlier this year, and now there have been Saban to Packers rumors for over a week, right before signing day, and while he has always timely responded to these rumors before, so far he has been silent.

I want this to happen so I'm going to choose to believe there is a shred of credibility to it. It's gotta be boring for Saban to just smoke the competition year in and year out. He literally has nowhere to go but down in the college world. At least in the pros he could be challenged and work towards something.

As for the wife not wanting to move away from Alabama... Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's charming and all, but we're not exactly talking about La Jolla here.

OSU was never in the mix for Hill, so why would this hack have any info worth reporting?  Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.  It doesn't matter until early signing day, but I'm starting to feel motion sick with all of the back and forth action.  It feels like a bungee jump - the one that shoots you out like a sling shot...

OK, so basically:

-Dax flips to Bama.

-Bama later recruits OSU commit at same position.

-Bama tells OSU commit to come to them, as he will have less competition than he thinks because the player at the position is NOT actually going to Bama but flipping back to UM.

-OSU "insider" reads this on OSU or other random message board, or hears it from colleague, and takes it as true.

-OSU "insider" changes ballz.

Seem about right??? I'd call that air tight...

Nothing would surprise me with these SEC schools.  Recruiting to them is an "anything goes" business.  And that means pretty much anything.  If they have to lie to people to get a commitment, they'll do it.  If it means a bag full of cocaine magically appearing in a hotel room for a recruit, they'll do it.  If it means a great "deal" on a car for a player's family, they'll do it.  And they're experts at covering their tracks too.  Years of practice makes you pretty good.

Recruiting tactics among certain coaches are different depending on which part of the cycle we are in.  This is the time of the year that successful programs who have had great seasons can use negative recruiting tactics to their full advantage.

Example:

U of Whoever lost embarassingly to archrival and rumors abound about head coach and d-coordinator heading out of town.  This leads to trepidation among youth fueled by savvy coaches seeding doubts and causing commitment flips.

Reaffirmation from coaches of team that secured original commit then causes youth to reassess and rethink a somewhat rash decision.

So you see, theres no real need for “bagmen”

I have serious doubts about him flipping back buuuuuuut....

Michigan gets smoked by Ohio State, tempering enthusiasm. Harbaugh to NFL rumors begin. Alabama visits, pitches on the possibility of Harbaugh leaving + success (I really don't think Hill is a bag men situation). Hill decides that Alabama is the better bet because why go to a less sucessful program that seems like a strong candidate to lose their coach? Harbaugh makes it clear he isn't leaving. Hill and family realize that maybe they acted too quickly...

I mean its possible?
