i loved true detective season 2... maybe it's because i watched it a whole year after it's original run and already heard so many complaints about it.

i agree about the post-credit scene but MIB killing his daughter is i think real. i think that was analogous to the cornerstone scene james delos telling logan to get off his yard and somewhat having a hand in logan's overdose death.

Actually you are not telling it like it is by mixing in your opinions to your posts.

yea for maybe a week. but for most normal people there are other things in life.

you should call in to michigan insider and complain. this morning i heard this guy named terry complain and cry to sam about offering a middle school kid QB. a few callers later Carter from Deja Vu called to offer terry a freebie in the boom boom room to let him vent some steam.

you should ask for carter.

YES! Now we will finally be able to run the 'lie down and try to blend in with the end zone during kick-offs and pretend you don't look like a tool and hope you don't make the non-top 10 plays that evening on ESPN because the ball wasn't even kicked to you and everybody in the stands were pointing and laughing even though it's homefield.' play.

05/27/2018 - 9:08pm Xavier HS in Westwood

is where Mo Hurst went to HS. you really need another reason to live here? i know i don't

05/27/2018 - 6:07pm congrats!

first, congrats on the great opurtunity.

I also work in the Longwood medical area where Boston children's is located.

I think where you want to move will be based on;

1) do you want to commute or walk/drive etc.

2) Children's school.

3) Importance of City life.

4) Housing expenses.

Brookline, a great but expensive neighborhood, is right next to the medical area. Schools are top notch but like anywhere in the US, great schools usually means expensive housing. If you don't mind taking the commuter train (Yawkey station right next to Fenway park and Ruggles station, both served by Children's shuttle service) areas such as Newton, Needham, Natick and Wellesley along route 9 are great places with great schools. Commuting takes about 15-40 minutes one way depending which neighborhood you want to live in.

Similar to Brookline, the ranking of the schools determine housing costs. Also Westwood (where I live now, 50 minutes from my apt to office door), Dover, Milton, Braintree and Canton are neighborhoods on the periphery of Boston hugging I-95 which are great places with more yard space for your money than the neighboorhoods mentioned previously. These places are also served by commuter rails.

If you have very young children and want to live in the city before moving out to the suburbs I would recommend Fenway, Jamaica Plains, Mission Hill, Southend (East of Mass Ave and North of Harrison Ave).

If you have tons of money, Weston, Cambridge, Back Bay, Northend, South Boston and Beacon Hill is nice I hear.

Unless you work in Cambridge I wouldn't live north of the river since commuting will be difficult. But if you must send your children to the best public schools in MA, Lexington would be the place. But I hear that teachers there just check homework and not teach much since all of the kids there get private tutoring.

Most of the city area are diverse in terms of the population but as you move towards I-95 it gets a less diverse.

Allston and Brighton tends to cater towards college kids and I may just be misinformed but was told south of jamaica plains and south end is not preferable.

I think if you check out redfin.com and niche.com you will have a good idea.

05/25/2018 - 10:52am 'cheaper' in state tuition is a thing of the past.

[edit] sorry for the double post. and it was meant to be a reply below on comments about school tuition.

05/25/2018 - 10:50am 'cheaper' in state tuition is a thing of the past.

most of the private schools listed up there also are cheaper for mid to low income families in terms of tuition.

friend of mine had sent his son to stanford and everyone used to ask him how he was able to afford it. he said it was cheaper than if he had sent him to Wisconsin (in state) due to tuition being paid based on income.

his opinion based on his research looking into his son's and now college bound daughter's school tuition is that private schools with large endowments tend to offer more financial aid and end up being cheaper than most in-state tuitions.

he moved to Mass. recently and said her daughter's in state tuition at any of the UMass campuses would be more expensive than most of the private schools in Mass.

04/07/2018 - 7:20pm OCs were what we were told

drev called out run plays. pep called out passing plays.
harbaugh made final call.
my impresssion was unless it was an obvious run or pass play situation, the three would first decide whether to run or pass. then based on that pep or drev would call out a play and harbaugh would either agree and pass it along to team or ask for different play.

I don't know if it was a sales pitch in this case but I remember watching the 1999 NCAA MBB championship between UCONN and Duke and during interviews with the players I remember one of the reasons players picked to play at UCONN was 'so, you weren't deemed good enough to play at Duke or Georgetown etc, come to UCONN and play against them.'

sounds more intune with an MSU pitch but whatever gets it done is fine with me.

01/11/2018 - 11:05am having never played organized

having never played organized football i have a much more appreciation (above of all the appreciation i have currently) to the minute details that need to be adjusted and perfected by everyone is every situation.

especially felt it when i watched coach harbaugh explain the relationship between the center and QB in ball handling around 16 minute mark. having the center, in addition to reading the defense and adjusting instructions, make mental calibrations on each offensive play to properly hand off the football with a QB change midgame is incredible and just points to all the time spent during practice just to perfect that 1 second motion to initiate the play nevermind all the other more complex nuances of the specific play.

12/19/2017 - 1:00pm from Harbaugh visits the tiny town of Garber link

“There is no salesman in him. Everything is plain and simple. He said, ‘Iowa is a great school, you can’t go wrong there. Now here’s what we offer.’ He’s not into bad-mouthing other schools – all of them are good schools – he’s into Michigan.

love it.

12/12/2017 - 10:56am being a fan of the Football

being a fan of the Football (soccer) Manager series, I also looked for similar manager type games for America Football and came across the above game.

read some of the reviews about the game and the most repeated criticisms were

1) the lack of sophisticated AI response. same plays work the same over and over again. same play by AI results in same bust by player team over and over again.

2) no information regarding the plays being selected (no images to show what the play is)

3) the lack of information from the 2D field view. example given was a safety was taking a weird route for a tackle against a RB. was it because of bad coaching or lack of player intelligence or speed difference between safety and RB or just bad AI. No options to see the results and adjust approach of defender or coaching/practicing.

4) can't edit players inserted for individual plays. can't have RB in slot.

etc etc

12/08/2017 - 3:44pm just made me think about his

just made me think about his decision to return for another year. even with the tough financial situation his mother has to be in, he made a choice to come back.

he should sit out the bowl game.

that is not how one holds an RPG launcher.

also looks like it just took a bullet to the tip of the grenade.

love 80's game art.

12/05/2017 - 3:53pm to add on to the end of

to add on to the end of season non conference games,

like how groups are formed for the world cup, nonplayoff teams should be sorted into pots based on ranking and play another team in the same pot.

12/05/2017 - 2:43pm in my deranged head

force all FBS teams into 10 team conferences.

9 conference gmes + 1 nonconference 'preseason' game

all conference champs go to 16 team playoff with 3 'wildcard' teams.

all nonplayoff teams get to play 2 additional 'bowlgames' after conference season.

first playoff round losers get 1 additional 'bowlgame' after loss.

every 6-8 years reshuffle  conferences to balance out teams by region and record.

if political parties can develop AI to draw maps for gerrymandering why can't they use it to draw up conferences.

sorry, i was not very clear with my explainantion of what i was trying to get at.

i did not mean to place edwards on the same level as joe pa.

i was trying to say that simply being one of 'our own' is not a very good defense.

definately edwards' opinion of the team is not what i was trying to equate to with joe pa

11/20/2017 - 1:04pm isn't OKorn currently one of

isn't OKorn currently one of our own?

so are the other players and coaches braylon is bad mouthing.

coaches are adults who are getting paid for their job so i can understand but stop it with going after the students.

also, 'our own' is the defense penn state used for joe pa.

i think context is everything.
