Jeremy Birmingham ballz Dax to UM

Ohio St. guy Jeremy Birmingham flipped his ballz prediction for Daxton Hill from Bama to Michigan today. Don't know if he did it based on Sam saying the battle isn't done or something else.

I have to say this recruitment flip has been one of the oddest I can remember and makes me believe it won't stick.   I think Alabama convinced him that Harbaugh was leaving to go to the pros and obviously provided him convincing evidence to that fact.   He has very smart parents and people in his circle.   This is a very bright kid.   There is no reason for him to switch from Michigan to Alabama because OSU boat raced us.   If Zach Harrison does that makes logical sense - those are the two schools he is deciding between.   But he always had Alabama as a serious contender for his services and everyone in his family felt far more comfortable with Michigan.   The bigger question in my mind is what type of CONCRETE facts was Alabama able to present that made Dax AND his family believe that Harbaugh would leave?   These are not dumb people so whatever facts were presented painted the possibility as high and Harbaugh in a bad light as someone who would be lying to him.   Logic would dictate that Nick Saban will leave Alabama before Harbaugh will leave Michigan.   They aren't getting paid - Dax's parents make a good living.  Playing time at Alabama will be far harder to come by and by their own admission a degree at Michigan will carry far more value than one from Alabama (these are Dax's parents saying this not me).   And he isn't signing early so some part of him must have believed that there might be truth to Harbaugh leaving but that it isn't concrete.   Losing one game, even if it is to OSU or in that fashion, wouldn't make this kid change his commitment.   Even he can see how radical a difference he would make to the defense.

Something about all of this has seemed like very convincing lying by Alabama that Michigan is working aggressively to refute.   We will see the outcome but it certainly seems to me that the kid got hoodwinked and now is in a tough spot.

Don't know, but even if somebody gave them seemingly compelling information, by all accounts Michigan was totally blindsided by the flip.  I'd find it hard to believe that a family like the Hills who are experienced with the process already would not at least directly contact Michigan first before hitting the eject button.

That being said, Dax's desire to sign in February would seem to make a bit of sense in that context.  It would enable him to have a clearer picture of any "coaching musical chair" movements.  Rather than taking people's word for it, he could wait it out & see what ACTUALLY happens in in a vast majority of any particular cases he may be worried about prior to sending in his NLI.

Want to know how good of a troll job this is, just read most of the comments here. All kinds of wild thoughts and crazy theories being thrown out there. Epic troll job with epic results. Quite humorous.

Dax is gone, he isn't coming back, move on folks. You guys are better than this, quit falling for the nonsense.

Obviously a Buckeye fan, but also a longtime reader of Jeremy Birmingham. I've never seen him troll for clicks. He's also extremely respectful of recruits, so CB'ing him to Michigan is going to raise red flags and questions, a situation he wouldn't create for Hill unless he had good reason to believe he's flipping. Just my two cents.

I think Dax will flip back to us. I have a suspicion that the AL coaches told Dax that Harbaugh was leaving for the NFL.  If you noticed the timing of Dax flipping to AL, it occurred after ESPN  host said he had inside info that Harbaugh was going to be the next coach for Green Bay or Cleveland, not after the OSU blowout. If that was the case, Dax may decide to change back to Michigan. At least there is hope.

I'm wondering if the flip was a product of both the Harbaugh leaving crap AND the possibility that Don Brown was getting the Temple job? Now that it's clear that both are staying, he's strongly considering a return.

I wanted to see what this "flipping his balls" was all about, so i thought i'd give it a try me self.
Take my advise, fellers!  Don't try this at home, or any place else for that matter.  It hurts like hell!
