Yes Maryland hire another Michigan assistant because that worked out so well the first time....but do it anyway please.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
Durkin built up the team well... they have some stud players .
November 30th, 2018 at 6:58 PM ^
It was tounge in cheek remark that a player died under the watch of a former U of M assistant that was their head coach and then made the whole university look complete dog crap.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:00 PM ^
So... in the lead-up to The Game, a Michigan coordinator was in talks with Maryland, and his unit had some head scratching strategy en route to a blowout loss to OSU.
I feel like I've heard this story before.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:59 PM ^
I had always assumed that Harbaugh was responsible for the masterful game plans against OSU. Perhaps it was always Pep, and he did a half assed job?
December 1st, 2018 at 10:14 AM ^
We gave up 62 points.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:01 PM ^
We all know they are going to hire Urban.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:24 AM ^
Wasn't there some speculation that Harrison Bailey's assumed verbal to UM went sideways since he wasn't sure if Pep was going to be around?
Am I reading into this too much that the kid pulled the trigger to UT rather than delay a 2020 verbal commitment 13 months before the early signing date?
If Pep leaves, any chance McElwain can be persuaded to stay on as full time OC and play-caller?
Or do most fans want both gone?

Matt Canada did a great job at Maryland this year and proved to me someone should be happy making that hire.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
He did a great job and deserves to be made the head coach
November 30th, 2018 at 7:46 PM ^
He did a fine job. But Maryland’s maybe the best job currently available, and the school shouldn’t settle when there are better candidates available. FWIW, I don’t think that’s Locksley, but he seems to have backers there.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:45 AM ^
If not than bring him here as O coordinator. At least he almost beat OSU and had a fun to watch offense.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
I heard it was Matt Canada and Ron Mexico
November 30th, 2018 at 6:47 PM ^
I heard it was Steve Russia.
November 30th, 2018 at 9:35 PM ^
Robert California
November 30th, 2018 at 10:01 PM ^
I heard it was Carlos Danger.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
So can we get Kliff? He can do a dan penos type deal.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
Didn't Kingsbury get the USC OC job?
If so, I would say not.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:00 PM ^
Yeah but Dan Enos took a job here for like a month and then left for Bama so anything can happen... And by can I mean probably not...
November 30th, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
That was exactly what I was alluding to.
If I was him, I would rather be from the Jim Harbaugh coaching tree than the red skelton coaching tree, just saying.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
Take it, please, for the love of god
November 30th, 2018 at 10:09 PM ^
Careful what you wish for.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
How have they not given the job to Matt Canada already.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
Seriously this. I am not sure a coach would want to choose that administration to work for.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:24 PM ^
Cause he's a hoser, eh.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:30 PM ^
Locksley would seem to be a serious contender. He's a great recruiter, from the area and coached there before. If not for his terrible stint as a HC in New Mexico, he'd surely be the favorite. Canada did a pretty good job under trying circumstances, but that was his first year in Maryland, first with head coaching duties and he's bounced around more than is typical. Could be a hire based on emotion if they aren't careful.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
Locksley is 3-31 as a HC and had issues with ethics at New Mexico.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
Yup, but he's spent 8 seasons since then working his way back up. Maryland doesn't have a slam dunk candidate. Locksley could well have the highest ceiling and lowest floor.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:19 PM ^
It makes sense that Lockesley would be a great recruiter. I've heard he takes money from rich boosters and gives it to poor athletes.
November 30th, 2018 at 8:32 PM ^
Sort of a Robbin’ Hood
November 30th, 2018 at 6:37 PM ^
Maryland is confused on the exchange rate between the Canadian and US dollars.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:40 PM ^
I think they are going through the motions of a competitive process or something. It's Canada.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
I am not saying Canada would not be a good hire, and I know one situation has no impact on any other.... But, when has promoting an interim head coach to full time gig ever worked in college football?
November 30th, 2018 at 6:47 PM ^
Lloyd Carr? Was he not successful?
November 30th, 2018 at 7:01 PM ^
Yes.. I was just trying to think of something more recent.
Helton seems to be a disaster. O is probably too early to tell but they didn't beat anyone they weren't supposed to and lost to Troy last year.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
Oklahoma’s head coach. Also Pat Fitzgerald at NU.
November 30th, 2018 at 8:00 PM ^
Wasn’t Jimbo Fisher an assistant under Bowden?
November 30th, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^

Off the top of my head, Dabo Swinney and Bobby Williams(for my purposes...)
November 30th, 2018 at 9:55 PM ^
Dabo Swinney for the most recent and obvious.
November 30th, 2018 at 10:08 PM ^
Lloyd Carr says hi.

Because it’s Maryland!

TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE!

November 30th, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
If true, then that is probably a big reason why Harrison Bailey didn't commit to us.
November 30th, 2018 at 6:30 PM ^
Harrison himself has said that he wants to help UT get its place back. Said he sees the potential to really put his mark on the program.
November 30th, 2018 at 7:20 PM ^
Let's say for a moment that we knew Bailey only committed to UT because Pep wasnt going to stick at UM. You think he'd just come right out and say that?
