the biggest need for this…

the biggest need for this team is players with high basketball IQ!!! and guys who actually know how to play D. we got 2 guys that came from 2 of the best defensive teams in college basketball last year and neither are good on D, they try to do it at times and the other times they look completely lost. then there is jackson... he looks like hes out there playing pickup ball at the IM building 95% of the time...

lastly they need a true number 2 scorer. Nkamhoua was that guy but he fell off half through January probably because of his injury. Burnett showed flashes but that would only happen in 1 half of the game...

Because they know that no…

Because they know that no one from Michigan is going to say anything publicly, and there is no point for Michigan to say anything because it's a lose lose for them...

JG hasn't done anything since he left Michigan so it just proves that he needed Michigan more than Michigan needed him...

yes well aware of late 80's…

yes well aware of late 80's and use of coke... but my point was that after that season and Probert getting pinched at boarder the following season he started to get clean(ish), he never had a season like he did in 87/88 again...

D-Mac lost more than he won,…

D-Mac lost more than he won, he also had a bad habit of getting hurt every time he fought...

also the height of Probies…

also the height of Probies cocaine use... the following season is when he got pinched at the boarder for having coke on him, got deported and so on...

20 PIM in 5 games... thats…

20 PIM in 5 games... thats nothing...

Tie Domi played in 2 games in 89/90 it was a weekend home and home with the Wings, in those 2 games Tie spent 42 mins in the box... he was sent back down after those 2 games...

https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/d/domiti01.html

the Friday night game set a record for PIM in a period IIRC, Saturday was a bit tamer but there were still a couple of fights...

even though a Bama blogger…

even though a Bama blogger went on on Twitter last night claiming that Saban kept the boosters in line they even know that is not 100% true... Saban might have kept a large portion of them out of the football buildings... but everyone one down there knows that Little Bear (Bear Bryant's son) is the one pulling the strings... IIRC he has his own private conference room/office in Bama AD where he and the top flight Bama boosters hold their meetings with certain AD people...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_W._Bryant_Jr.

So for all of those years Saban had to play nice with Jr and they would keep him clean of everything...

This all day long!!! One of…

This all day long!!! One of my wife's best friends works for Nike and we can get a lot of Michigan stuff through him but the coaches/team stuff is a no go...

Adidas did the same thing, but all they did was sell exact same thing to the public but that version had one minor difference from what the coaches/team had. Usually the coaches/team stuff had a Michigan helmet on it, ans the sell to the public version had a block M on it...

one of 2 things happened on…

one of 2 things happened on that fumbled punt...

1 - Semaj lost it in the sun, and by the time he found the ball again he had to do something, and fair catching it was an after thought...

2 - Semaj was trying to make a play...

i'm leaning towards number 2...

as for number 1 was surprised that none of the DB's or WR's were wearing tinted visors like the guys did in 97, considering that at some point in time they were going to looking directly into the sun in the first half...

At the end of the day…

At the end of the day Sanderson reports to the head coach and or acting head coach about what is going on with the health of players. So if Jace was being dumb about rehab then Juwan and Phil would have known about it long before the argument...

So if Sanderson felt like Juwan the coach and dad wasn't doing anything about Jace in regards to rehab, that's what more than likely caused him to lose his shit.

Now what it's going to come down to is what ALL did Sanderson say??? Saying something specific about a player that is out of line could get a coach fired up, but that would also get the father of the player fired up also if not more depending on what was said... add the alleged comment about the program being f'd to it this and its just going to add more fuel to the fire...

there are some names in that thread that i have not seen in a long time... the dark days of Michigan Football produced some of the best posts around but at the same time it also produced some of the worst all time posts... how many depth chart threads were there back in 2009 and 2010 from McFarlin??? 13 years of working in the suites I've had a few interactions with former Michigan athletes...

Gary Moeller hung out in the Alro steel suite for every game in 2010, had to remind him where the bathroom was 3 times during one game. Also in 2010 I got to show Mr Glick a picture of the lights turned on early in the morning, he wanted to see how they looked.

Met Juwan during the 2019 international soccer game... him Saddi and Jace all showed up to one of the suites late. Pretty sure it was Jace's quasi recruiting visit.

Braylon is always tooling around on the 5th floor bouncing in and out of suites. Nice guy but is still full of himself.

First game of the season this year Brandon Naurato was in one of my suites. Super nice guy.

Probably semantics…

Probably semantics. Sometimes people are given the ‘resign or be fired’ ultimatum

I call this "quit-fired"...

they talked about this on…

they talked about this on WTKA this morning, Sam had Vance Bedford on and Sam asked him flat out if Meyer would take the MSU job and Vance's answer was no. He said that where ever Meyer has gone as a college coach he has always had a QB already there and that there was already talent on the team. But the QB was the main one. Vance's other point was recruiting and Meyer wants to be somewhere where he can bring the level of players he needs and wants... MSU ain't that place...

The amount of work that Meyer would have to do to get MSU straightened out to be able to compete would give him PTSD from his time with the Jags...

Also how happy would MSU fans be when they find out that Scotty Hazelton would be their DC??? Meyer always keeps the DC from the previous staff where ever he has coached in college

Here is the money part of it...

"Wisconsin set up an interview for 10 o’clock on a Sunday night. Bo walked in to face 20 guys sitting around a room, looking bored. One of the members actually fell asleep, right in front of Bo – which thrilled him. They also had a student who seemed to relish asking smart-aleck questions – which thrilled him even more."

Bo and Knight were good…

Bo and Knight were good friends, so there might have been something there in 1980 but who knows now...

It was because of that relationship that's how Cam Cameron ended up at Michigan as a GA... I guess he told Knight that he wanted to become a football coach and Knight made the call to Bo because he felt he'd do and learn more at Michigan than he would at IU...

iirc, after Falcon tore is ACL in his JR year of high school Michigan asked/told him to have the surgery and then sit out his SR year to rehab and then let the Michigan doctors evaluate his knee when he got on campus and as long as he did that they would honor his scholarship... him and or his HS coaches decided otherwise and he played, and then he tore his ACL again, Michigan yanked his scholarship offer...

cool story bro moment... in 2010 after they were installed i took a picture of them on so i could show my dad, about 2 hours before the game the suite server that took care of Alro Steel back then said that Mr Glick wanted to see them, so I got show him and Gary Moeller the pic...

unless Hunter is thinking of the days when Roy Williams was still at KU, Self gets centers drafted but outside of Embid they are either bench guys and not playing that much or they aren't even in the NBA anymore...

Hunter is and will be a great college player, but at the end of the day its on him to make himself better. the coaches can only do so much but they aren't the ones on the floor during the game...

Big 10 basket ball is…

Big 10 basket ball is completely different that Big 12 basketball... wow really?!?!?!

As we all know the Big 10 is a half court league for the most part, very few teams are going to sprint all game long, so yes Hunter you are out of shape for the type of league that the Big 12 is...

Also if he was out of shape last season that is on him, and not on U of M... maybe he should have spent his Saturdays over at Crisler instead of up on the 5th floor of Michigan Stadium bouncing from suite to suite eating all of that wonderful food that gets served up there...

We all know that its no…

We all know that its no secret that booze gets snuck into the stadium... but upstairs in the suites the suite holders have full on wet bars going on. They all have a locked cabinet and they are the only ones with the keys so they bring there stuff in during the week and not on game day...

then you have the people who get the suite tickets from someone else (friend or family member) and then treat it like a frat party and sneak in air plane bottles, banana bag style of bags full of booze. these are the people that are the biggest issue. Story time below...

last year one of my suite holders gave his tickets to his daughter and son in law, they proceed to invite all of their friends, they party hard at their tailgate and then come up stairs. this happens every year but this last season it was bad. basically by the end the game the were so wasted the daughter and her friends wanted to fight me, the son in law was demanding that i be fired because i was "rude", they thought i was price gouging them for a case of water, and because when they first got there i told them that we didn't sell tonic water or club soda anymore... i had to hide in my other suites because the daughter was looking for me out in the hallway...

we all got the last laugh when the daughter had to do the do the walk of shame from the south end all of the way down to the north end of the hallway while being held up by 2 of her friends... but they tried to tell my boss that they weren't drunk...

This quote should be…

This quote should be directed at MSU and NOT Michigan...

""There is no good reason for this option to be available only for people watching the games in suites and no one else," Sen. Sean McCann, D-Kalamazoo, said Tuesday. "Furthermore, there is strong evidence that points to these policies helping to reduce binge drinking on game days.”"

This is what MSU did when they first opened up their suites. They only offered booze in the suites and the "regular" fans bitched about it every year and MSU finally just did away so that they didn't have to hear the bitching about it anymore...

Michigan does not sell booze in the suites for Athletic Department events. The only time there is booze sold is when they stadium is "rented" for other events such as NHL games, or international soccer matches.

As for Michigan anyone with season tickets knows that there was a survey sent out last year asking about booze sales at the stadium, so they have been looking into since before last season...

without giving up too much…

without giving up too much info on how i know what i am about to say because i have no idea who reads this board...

in 2021 everyone at West Bloom and BDS's family all said that the plan was for him to be playing football at Michigan, and they were doing everything they could to make sure he was ready including tutors and such during the summer. this is why it was surprising that he committed to ND even though he was pretty much at every Michigan home game in 2021 and some in 2022...

Personally again knowing what i know he would be better suited to be at a school that has a coach that he knows that can help him with certain things on the learning/school side of things.

first and foremost you…

first and foremost you cannot blow a 7 point lead in the first OT...

but lets be honest here, if this game was called/ref'd the same way at both ends of the floor the outcome might have been different...

as said by other Hawkins beat the shit out of Hunter and only got called for fouls twice in both OT's... Kobe gets grabbed coming off of a screen, in front of a ref and no call, Tarris gets called for a moving screen, when he was clearly set... also how Underwood wasn't T'd up at all during this game is amazing, i didn't know that he has same cache as Izzo when it comes to screaming and yelling at ref's...

this game reminded me of the IU game at Crisler... IU was short handed and the ref's swallowed their whistles during that game making it look like they didn't want to hamper IU anymore than they already were... Same goes for last night, Illinois short handed for the most part, ref's again swallow their whistles at times...

i got dive bombed by 2 Blue…

i got dive bombed by 2 Blue Jays in my backyard when i was in HS... i was walking to my shed and didn't realize that a baby had fallen out of the nest, i walked right past it and then all of a sudden it was a scene from the movie the birds... ever since i've hated those little shits and get now get angry when they are using my bird feeders...

The point is, JB didn't give…

The point is, JB didn't give him a lot of leash unless he had to...

You are right it's on the player to figure it out but at the same time you as a coach you have to be able to put your players in the right spots to succeed, and parking their ass on the bench when they make a mistake is not the way to do it...

Honestly JB ruined Johns in…

Honestly JB ruined Johns in his freshman year... as soon as he missed a shot or made a mistake JB yanked him from the game and then you never saw him again... by the time his sophomore year rolled around he was so afraid to be aggressive early in games because he didn't want to benched...

Every now and then you saw glimpses of the potential but it was usually in games where someone was hurt or in foul trouble and he didn't have to worry about getting benched...

And Chris Hunter... pretty…

And Chris Hunter... pretty sure he came in the same year as Josh Asselin...

Buy it from a used car lot?

Only asking because my Dad's buddy was the sales manager for a used car lot in a not so wholesome part of Detroit... every car they financed for a buyer got LoJacked so that as soon as 2 or 3 payments were missed they could have it repo'd... they also helped out the cops a few times when they were trying to track someone down...
