Dudek has put out the bat signal after a less than stellar weekend! Go Blue!
November 26th, 2018 at 10:30 AM ^
Maybe he's waving goodbye.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:19 AM ^
Why? Dudek and the recruiting staff have done an excellent job this year.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:46 AM ^
It is NOT ZH. Not saying he will not come to Michigan, but MattyD is talking about someone else. Some late offers went out last week, and 2 of them want to come to AA.
I had it on great authority the first week of Jan 2018 that Pep was gone. In fact, I believe a firm handshake was the intention, but somehow he did not get let go. Therefore, I'm not going to put foot in mouth again this year until it's official.

So another under the radar guy. I’m not Maizen, but that will be a little disappointing under the circumstances we are in. Maybe more than a little.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:09 PM ^
I'm confused. Is Pep leaving or not?
November 26th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Agree. You saying Pep is out? But don’t want to jinx it since he was supposed to be our last year?

Maybe Zach Harrison sees an opportunity for early playing time after Saturday? Apparently our pass rush needs some help.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:18 AM ^
Harrison would be a double-win. After this weekend, I am pretty much convinced that it will take multiple 5*s in each class to get to OSU's level. And getting Harrison would give us one, while also denying OSU one. Not to mention that anytime you can pull a recruit out of Columbus is huge.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:08 PM ^
*OSU would just replace Harrison with a 6-star.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:56 PM ^
They've swabbed Reggie White for DNA back in the 90s and have been cultivating him from a petri dish to a 10 star commit.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:26 PM ^
Ouch! Gallows humor, LoL...
November 26th, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^
Please be Zach Harrison. A big recruiting victory esp against OSU would stem a lot of the negativity.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:38 AM ^
I hope you're right about stemming the negativity... but probably not. It's brutal right now, having a hard time keeping myself from being too negative.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:39 AM ^
That'd be great.
Is it Harrison Bailey perhaps? Thought he was committing sometime later this month.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
Bailey is committing on November 29 at 2:45 p.m.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
Good thought but Giles Jackson on twitter tagged it as #GoonSquad19 so likely someone in this class.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:42 AM ^
Yes, we should be getting a 2019 commit sometime soon (don't know exact time).
November 26th, 2018 at 10:58 AM ^
Well, here are our remaining targets:
Zach Harrison
Quavaris Couch
Trevor Keegan
George Karlaftis
Tommy Eichenberg
Jaylen Ellis
Cornelious Johnson
Kyle Ford
Darius Robinson
November 26th, 2018 at 11:11 AM ^
and 6'8 OT Dawand Jones.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:18 AM ^
Add Kalen DeLoach, 4* LB from Savannah, Georgia. Currently a soft FSU commit. Current top two of Auburn and Michigan, per Sam Webb.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:38 AM ^
Target? Sure. I think that ship has sailed, though.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:50 AM ^
Not according to Steve Lorenz. Jim Harbaugh and Al Washington are stopping by to see him in-home this week. I doubt they would they be doing that if the ship had already sailed.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:13 AM ^
Well said Magnus, we should indeed expect a 2019 commit in the next few weeks.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:17 AM ^
Haha. We should be getting a couple.
What I meant was within the next 24 hours.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:36 AM ^
Much respect to anyone who commits immediately after that game.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
...or, from a different angle, after a 10-2 season and a top-10 finish (so far).
November 26th, 2018 at 10:44 AM ^
Right?
It's not like we got beat to a pulp by Purdue.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:50 AM ^
Probably not the best idea to shame the team that just blew your doors off with the entire world watching when you were predicted by everyone to win that game.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
He’s not shaming OSU just making a point. The OSU fan base wanted everyone fired after Purdue and again after Maryland.
It took the Pistons some extra effort to get past the Celtics and then the Bulls needed extra to finally get past the Pistons. Michigan will get there.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:55 AM ^
OSU has been blown out, not just lost, once per season for the last 3 consecutive years. Clemson, Iowa and Purdue. They put the pieces back together and we can as well.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:48 AM ^
I agree that people are overreacting to this game because of too much confidence going in. OSU is the second most talented roster in the country, had a top 5 offense playing at home where they have lost all of once under Urban and were still 10-1 and a top 10 team. It got out of hand because both the coaches and team quit but we faced a talented team that had shot itself in the foot all year on a day when they didn't shoot themselves in the foot. If Haskins goes pro I bet we win next year at home.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:07 AM ^
Still think that the reason OSU had so many close games against inferior teams is that they spent the last 5 weeks prepping for Michigan rather than the team they were about to face. They were sure they had enough talent to beat Purdue, Maryland, Nebraska and Sparty without spending too much prep time on them. That's why Haskins always knew M's blitz packages and secondary defense on sight and why for most of the season their defensive backfield looked lost. You don't pick up coverages like that up in four days. Bo used to devote part of every practice to OSU. I would be surprised if Meyer didn't do the same.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:14 AM ^
I think there is definitely something to this.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:46 AM ^
Well, one of the OSU players said they had been preparing for Michigan all season long in the player promo comments before the game.
We don't know if he meant that literally. but it's quite possible.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:58 AM ^
This was my exact fear going into the game and after seems like your probably onto something here. OSU was to talented and to many good coaches to look that bad all year.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:09 PM ^
Ohio State is always Lucy pulling the football out from under Charlie Brown at the end of our season. OSU lulled us into thinking that they were going to hold the football this time, with the Zach Smith troubles, no Bosa and a generally weak-looking season compared to our strong showing. Charlie Brown ran at the ball with even more reckless abandon than usual (our over-confidence) expecting to make contact, and whiffed even more spectacularly.
That's all I got.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:11 PM ^
What exactly about this team gives you confidence in that game next season? The defense we played against is probably only losing Dre'Mont Jones, and we only put up 19 points (6 of which were 90% due to OSU making an unforced error) while the game was still competitive. OSU's offense, while it likely wouldn't be as pass-heavy without Haskins, will still heavily rely on athletes in space, which Michigan couldn't defend one bit, and also there won't be any Bush, Gary, or Winovich on next year's defense.
Unless you're banking on Martell being a total bust, along with Meyer retiring and being replaced with a coaching staff inexperienced with running a spread offense, I see no reason to think next year will be any different.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:57 AM ^
It's the immediacy that I respect. The 10-2 record is going to persist over time, but the hangover from that OSU game is still going strong.
Like I said, anyone who commits in the aftermath of that game is obviously a strong believer in Harbaugh/Michigan.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:59 AM ^
Or the angle of, "hey, we're a couple of key guys away from making the CFP. Meanwhile, you get a great education... "
November 26th, 2018 at 12:05 PM ^
"Cool. Now can you do me a favor and explain why the former #1 WR was sitting on the bench so a walk-on could get snaps? What about that highly rated guy Josh Ross? Why isn't he seeing the field more?"
Michigan needs more high-quality players, but the coaches need to be smarter about how they use the ones that they already have.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:37 AM ^
good news but i’m too deflated to care. never really thought this before but i think football season is done for me. won’t be watching conference championships, bowl games or the playoffs.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:39 AM ^
You won't watch our bowl game?
November 26th, 2018 at 11:19 AM ^
i’ll probably come around by the time bowl season arrives, but right now i think the answer is no.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
You certainly care enough to read the board and post emo in this thread. Your fandom is fine. You just want your misery broadcasted and you want us to pick you up. Read some of the optimism here, it's real and the team will be fine.
BTW some people will react negatively to your post and others like it. The reason is simple - you've got to get back to center on your own. We're all hurting (to the extent that fandom should be affecting our lives in any real way) after that game, we're working to get ourselves back. Not our job to keep helping others back up the hill. And if you're going to stay down, CYA. I'm not going back in the firefight to drag a dead body up.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:39 AM ^
It's just a game played by college kids. Take a step off the ledge, life goes on.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:15 AM ^
Right....it is just a game. You win some you lose some. It was a fun ride for me this season.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:23 AM ^
i get that it isn’t life or death - i’m not on a ledge, just disheartened and feel like i’d rather spend 3 hours (or 4 if the game is on fox) doing anything else at this point.
like you said, life goes on and mine will be going on without football for the next month or so
November 26th, 2018 at 10:41 AM ^
A bowl win versus and Oklahoma or Georgia would restore my faith. Even a close loss like FSU would be extremely disheartening. I love Harbaugh, but the program needs a big win over a quality team who is playing their best. Go Blue Always.
