11/09/2018 - 11:13am For some reason watching…

For some reason watching this video made me upset again with Hoke and Brandon.  No idea whatsoever why that is.

11/06/2018 - 9:35am I hate listening to a guy…

I hate listening to a guy who wants to do something well so badly and can't.  While the thing he can do well (color), he's being paid not to do.  Given all the colossal failures of the Dave Brandon era, Brandstatter's selection for PBP goes kind of under-the-radar as a real unfortunate choice.  JB deserves better and so do the fans.

11/05/2018 - 1:16pm I wouldn't be surprised to…

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of Milton against Rutgers when it hits mop up time.  If that happens against Indiana then you'll see Peters first.  It's the only way to guarantee reps for Milton while still leaving two more potential appearances for him against OSU and in the postseason (whether it be 1, 2, or --eek-- 3 games).

11/02/2018 - 9:24am I almost forgot him trying…

I almost forgot him trying to fake fight a Penn State fan this year in the stands and the whole 'great to elite' nonsense.  He's Hoke 2.0- Sales Bro Edition.

11/02/2018 - 9:21am Franklin can grab this L. …

Franklin can grab this L.  Michigan's got at least 6 more to give out this year.

10/26/2018 - 12:27pm It's BS.  You heard me. …

It's BS.  You heard me.  Check the tape.  Don Brown doesn't bobble.

10/25/2018 - 2:42pm That's a Full Rutger.

That's a Full Rutger.

10/24/2018 - 11:12am This is good stuff here.

This is good stuff here.

I rewatched most of the MSU game in 60 minute form on BTN and I feel like a little shine is going to come off the tackles, in particular Runyan, who seemed to have trouble getting a handle on Willekes.  Credit to MSU as they incited a number of throwaways due to quick pressure.  Credit to Patterson for safely throwing those balls away instead of winging a ball out over the middle with a guy in his grill.

10/22/2018 - 12:33pm Harbaugh just said he…

Harbaugh just said he practiced all week but Gary said he didn't feel like he could play on Saturday.  That particular tea leave doesn't bode well for a return.

10/19/2018 - 1:41pm I looked at S&P+ final…

I looked at S&P+ final rankings plus rankings to date in 2018.  Michigan under Harbaugh is 8-2 in games where M is 10 to 30 spots better than the opponents in S&P.  Michigan is 30 spots higher than MSU this year.  Those 2 losses are @Utah and @Iowa.  Harbaugh has one loss where they were more than 30 spots better and that was the bowl against South Carolina.

Overall Michigan is 34-7 as the S&P favorite under Harbaugh.  25-1 when better by 30 spots or more (S Carolina).

10/16/2018 - 10:51am Taylor only carried 6 times…

Taylor only carried 6 times in the second half but it also only yielded 22 yards.  Michigan had Wisconsin's passing game so turned around there was no way this game was going to be close. Closer?  Sure.

10/15/2018 - 10:38am Worst: Lowest Common…

Worst: Lowest Common Denominator sports takes spitting out Dantonio's Top 10 Wins which includes such stalwarts as 2017 Michigan and 2018 Penn State (who looks like an 8-4 team).

10/10/2018 - 11:33am No.  It's literally the…

No.  It's literally the least important game on the remainder of the schedule in terms of winning the B1G.

10/10/2018 - 11:30am Oh, no, I know all about…

Oh, no, I know all about insurance rates in Michigan.  I was referring to the piece of paper.  Wrongly, and probably naively, assumed that stuff was all electronic now.

10/10/2018 - 11:10am Being cited for driving…

Being cited for driving without proof of insurance is still a thing in 2018?  Huh.

10/05/2018 - 11:19am Poor Damn Ace.  All this…

Poor Damn Ace.  All this analysis goes into these posts and all anyone cares about is the chart.

10/05/2018 - 10:13am It's about time that someone…

It's about time that someone recognized Tom Brady's success!

10/05/2018 - 10:12am If you squint and stare with…

If you squint and stare with your head-turned 90 degrees at Shea Patterson on the personnel diagram, you'll see a star appear for Cesar Ruiz.  It's happening y'all.

10/04/2018 - 1:02pm So much this.  4 "Best…

So much this.  4 "Best Available" seats for the Maryland game directly from mgoblue.com: $454.

Parking: $20

Souvenirs for the kids : $40

Concessions: $50

And you're easily up to $500-600 for an afternoon at a football game.  So do you do that or take your kids to one of those indoor waterparks for the weekend? Or skip two or three games over 2 years and spend that money on a vacation.  This is simple economics here.  Throw in only a handful of meaningful opponents and interminable TV timeouts and this is what you get.

10/01/2018 - 1:25pm Can't forget that presumed…

Can't forget that presumed starter in the preseason, Aubrey Solomon could come back and really bolster that interior.   Pretty, pretty good.

10/01/2018 - 10:13am That leads me to wonder if…

That leads me to wonder if Michigan's DL is explicitly coached not to exaggerate the impact of holds, ie, not flop.  If that's the case, the logic must be that if you flop and don't get the call you might take yourself further out of the play.

Anyone else got a non-conspiratorial explanation (and I'm not saying it's not bias)?

09/27/2018 - 1:24pm LOL so OSU came out and…

LOL so OSU came out and defended it because they've used similar messaging before and it's about the team, etc. etc.  The 'resolution' of the whole Meyer thing was so twisted and convoluted that they can't even properly issue a mea culpa for what would otherwise be a clever retort to the White Out. After all, you can't apologize for being insensitive about a culture of silence when all Meyer got in trouble for was just poor PR.

09/27/2018 - 11:09am Did you not see the GIF?  It…

Did you not see the GIF?  It's always been here.  I don't think the origins of time itself are good board fodder.

09/27/2018 - 11:02am Anyone ever seen Lloyd Brady…

Anyone ever seen Lloyd Brady and Murderwolf in the same room?  Didn't think so.

09/21/2018 - 1:15pm The bar is high in that…

The bar is high in that space between sad James Franklin FGs and manic last minute drives down two scores at home and going for two and failing spectacularly a la Dantonio.  Frost will no doubt seek to add his name to the Defeated with Dignity Hall of Fame.

09/21/2018 - 1:12pm 30-16 Michigan

30-16 Michigan

09/17/2018 - 12:29pm Can you imagine being an…

Can you imagine being an adult in the room for that presser and just standing in the back nodding along, yep, this is fine.

09/17/2018 - 10:36am Did ya see the guy…

Did ya see the guy complaining about Harbaugh's attire?  We have plenty to yell about buddy.

09/11/2018 - 1:46pm Wasn't it Joe Bolden who got…

Wasn't it Joe Bolden who got kicked out of a game for getting blocked into Connor Cook in 2015?  Fun times, that.

09/07/2018 - 4:24pm It's his first day. Go easy…

It's his first day. Go easy on him.

09/07/2018 - 8:46am So last year was the first…

So last year was the first season since 1967 that Michigan failed to score over 35 points once in any game.  Most years had at least two games of 40+.

Looking over some of those box scores last year.  Woof.  Here's to a right and proper whoopin tomorrow otherwise it's bourbon for breakfast when the schedule gets rough again.

09/06/2018 - 4:26pm Sorry.  Can't yet.  It's…

Sorry.  Can't yet.  It's football season and being miserable takes 100% focus.

09/06/2018 - 12:59pm 41-6

41-6

09/06/2018 - 10:33am Honestly having the two…

Honestly having the two broadcasters fighting on air would be a boon to the Tigers.  I'd watch the hell out of that.

08/28/2018 - 9:43am You really want a new banner…

You really want a new banner right now?

A vast expanse of a snowy field interrupted only by a desolate two lane highway and a single pair of tail lights. It's quiet except for the ceaseless wind and drifting snow.  A tree stands in the foreground with the word "MGoBlog" scratched into the thick bark in Comic Sans font.  Blood drips until it freezes beneath each letter.

08/27/2018 - 10:54am If the fanbase could just…

If the fanbase could just Urban the way 2017 turned out, I think most projections for this year would be 11-1.  Here's to a season where the 'Worst' sections are few and the 'Best' are many!

Urban (verb):  To publicly forget something you definitely remember because ignoring it is much better for you personally. Also, pills or something.

08/26/2018 - 2:57pm Do they give Hawkins and…

Do they give Hawkins and Thomas a look for some depth? Both have some experience,no?

A mashup of Urban and Dory from Finding Nemo with the caption, "I suffer from deliberate memory loss"

08/23/2018 - 1:29pm John Cooper would have been…

John Cooper would have been fired twice for this.

08/23/2018 - 12:31pm That story feels a little…

That story feels a little axe-grindy to me. Especially given the nuance involved in scholarship awards to walk-on students and the myriad ways it could be handled by a program.  McElwain was a pretty bad head coach who likely didn't have the best grip on stuff like that. It doesn't mean there's anything nefarious going on.  He was fired and took a much lower exposure position at another program.  All reasonable things to occur given his history I would say.

08/23/2018 - 11:01am Depends on if they're…

Depends on if they're considered public records as defined by OSU and State of Ohio.  Some messages may reach that status but I'm doubtful.

08/22/2018 - 12:51pm Imagine the image of…

Imagine the image of Harbaugh's car parked on a back loading dock of Schembechler so he could slink into the backdoor while the BoT discussed just how exposed they are to his poor judgment and willful ignorance when it came to his hand-selected, long-time staffer.

I believe the listed matters were "..employment, compensation, and discipline of.."

08/22/2018 - 9:02am Poor Urban tried but he…

Poor Urban tried but he couldn't quite help the poor lad.  Had he just paid a little more attention perhaps things would have been different.  Troubled by the thought of revealing poor Zach's personal details to the media, he made the mistake of misstating his recollection of long, past and always properly handled events.  Coach Meyer will use this opportunity to improve on how he manages personnel issues in the future and sincerely apologizes to Buckeye Nation for things and stuff.  We asked Jim Delaney for a two week delay to the start of the season so as to not punish the Buckeye players caught up in this in media-driven story.  Mr. Delaney said, "Sure, how about three?"

Do we get to vacate the Bloomin Onion Bowl???!?

07/25/2018 - 11:43am You wonder if the same MO…

You wonder if the same MO went into Ronnie Bell's recruitment. That dude was super productive in high level Missouri football. Harbaugh put a high percentage of lower ranked guys into the NFL at Stanford. Aside from our bad fan feels from last year, it's possible that this staff is at the leading edge of talent identification. We've seen more evidence of that in some of our 2019 guys getting big rating bumps.

07/19/2018 - 12:29pm So we just have a 5 m.o., 6…

So we just have a 5 m.o., 6 y.o., and 8 y.o. and a house and jobs. So I'm usually asking how to make time slow down.

07/19/2018 - 10:45am Competitive exercise posts,…

Competitive exercise posts, soccer...WTF.  We won WWII, did we not?

/s Did I do that right?

That's waygu grade snark.  Nice.

06/29/2018 - 9:42am It's not my preference to…

It's not my preference to come here for policy and/or politics discussion.

I still listened to the podcast.

I like listening to smart people discuss important topics.

During some of that discussion I found myself nodding along. During other points, I was less agreeable.

I have more information than I did yesterday and have gone on with my life.

Can the offseason die now?
