Brady had to convert three 3&10s...that’s no joke dude

Who is "we"? Are you part of the athletic department or talking about some other job?

01/17/2019 - 11:16am Right. But that's my point…

Right. But that's my point. The literal language of the rule is pretty lose, so it's not like a player would need to run away in fear and never come back. There was a lot of discussion on the rule on this board within the last week. You should look the rule up because you'll see its not as strict as we (OSU-haters) wish it were.

01/16/2019 - 8:34pm Probably like a B+. He’s…

Probably like a B+. He’s done some good for Lax and Tennis, and the Pearson hiring looks strong.

Botched Faehn situation shows he’s not a real powerhouse. But make no mistake, his tenure is the Harbauh and Beilein show.

01/16/2019 - 2:45pm The thing is, by my reading…

The thing is, by my reading of the rule, it doesn't have to be a "racist culture." I think the rule can be interpreted as allowing immediate eligibility in the face of egregarious behavior, even if it's a one time event. That is to say, the fact that the slur directed at Fields appears to be isolated may not prevent him from being eligible.

All that said, fuck OSU and I hope they never have a good QB again.

I'm all about the Hurts Express Train. Dude's a baller. He's gonna do well.

01/12/2019 - 11:47am The chart is an interesting…

The chart is an interesting summary in a backwards looking sense. It has little predictive value though because there are all sorts of factors that go into the plays that were called, and the chart can't account for any of those.

At the very least, I wish we could get a breakdown for our own offense. Mixing all teams into one analysis makes little sense, for obvious reasons. Leach passing is very different than army or ga tech passing. AhlSho they all start calling plays based on this chart? Of course not, because it's predictive value is zero.

There's definitely something about those girls...I love 'em too!

"Quiet good," but still lost. Your rooting interest should be that Fields isn't eligible, Hurts goes elsewhere, and Martell bounces. Make them play with their own version of Sheridan or something.

Of course, once the last bear turns bullish, isn't that a bad sign?

Now I pretty much only come here to read random parts of random threads. Occasionally a title is informative, which helps, but that I put up with his hilariously bad message board is a testament to how much I love you guys 💗

Lol, can't tell if serious. We used to have great "coaching change" posts.

So DB probably stays. So odd that we haven't heard any rumors for DL or DB coach. The CC posts used to be much better around here

01/09/2019 - 8:49pm Your point on Pep is taken,…

Your point on Pep is taken, but in recent years there have been rumors about Partridge, Warinner, Brown, Mattison (obviously), Harbaugh etc ... Not every assistant can be getting offers. Should be able to win when at least five guys were "hot." Plus there actually were Pep to Lions rumors and I even read a crazy Pep to Bucs rumor. So maybe even Pep is wanted...

01/09/2019 - 7:31pm Half of the “issues” listed…

Half of the “issues” listed in MGoFish’s tweet boil down to “players unhappy that media gave Tua too much credit.” So they’re mad at the media coverage of Baja, and the answer is to transfer? Doesn’t even make sense on its face

01/09/2019 - 3:00pm I'm not sure I see your…

I'm not sure I see your problem with the "old guys" Hurts narrative. All of it is true. He did stick around. He did win the Georgia game. He also got a degree and also learned from probably the best staff in the country.

You're basically implying that he stuck around for selfish reasons. The problem is that, all along, he showed great character. He supported Tua in last year's championship game, competed this spring, and never once pouted. He could have easily gone to sit on the bench last NC but instead he was the first to congratulate Tua. You can't take that away from Hurt, even if he did benefit from being at Bama along the way.

01/09/2019 - 2:56pm He didn't lose a year of…

He didn't lose a year of eligibility. He showed high character and still made some huge plays, most notably his big come back against Georgia. Hurts is very well-positioned.

Please thank your friend for his service! Also, now your friend is accountable in the event the offense isn't revolutionized. I hope he is prepared for that.

01/06/2019 - 10:50pm I'll bet sometimes coaches…

I'll bet sometimes coaches see the other side looking a bit disorganized and want to force them into a mistake even if it means the clock runs a little.

There's a documentary about that Pats-Seahawks finish, and Belichick was letting the clock run because the Hawks looked too disorganized. And he was right...

what’s funny is that some of those cars are quite a bit more expensive than others. Wrangler? Not really impressed. Ford Raptor? Now we’re talking

01/03/2019 - 8:52pm Not to mention he ran down…

Not to mention he ran down Franks from half way across the field on the transcontinental. The announcers tried to play if off like "Michigan was ready for it." In reality, Franks was about to go on a navarre-like rumble if not for Hudson splitting two blockers and running him down. Amazing play.

01/03/2019 - 2:24pm Meh, Saban and his 5-stars…

Meh, Saban and his 5-stars can seemingly win regardless of who the assistants are. For example, Saban won with McElwain and Nussmeier as OC. Those two have proven, at best, to be very average. So how did they manage to win at Bama?

Probably because that program is a machine and no one assistant is particularly valuable.

Saban has also lost Pruitt and Smart - both said to be good coordinators - and seemingly hasn't skipped a beat.

Lol how can I team up with that guy??

Lol, I'll be blunt, I don't really know how the transfer rules apply but I just don't want OSU to have a good QB.

01/03/2019 - 3:32am Anyone worried that Jalen…

Anyone worried that Jalen Hurts would go to OSU? Seems like exactly the type of luck they always have.

To your point though, who really cares about timing...rumor is that Harbaugh is working on a big time OC. If true, we can wait a week or two, no?

01/02/2019 - 9:24pm lol OSU will probably just…

lol OSU will probably just pick up Jalen Hurts and keep rolling. I hate those MFers.

Thing is, EW appears to be a good OL coach. Why mess with something that's working? Unless it's required to retain him or something, then I'd consider it

If we go out and get a young DC, Partridge may feel like he got passed up a d decide to move on. Not saying that's a deal breaker, just a consideration

01/01/2019 - 3:58pm Blacklisting is hard to do…

Blacklisting is hard to do in all markets. Whether it be oil or football players, all it really takes is one group member to put their own benefit ahead of the benefit of the group. If a college player is truly that talented, you better believe some team will be like "screw this, we're drafting him." Having said that, I don't really think there are a lot of players that can sit out one year and still be considered top picks. That's definitely the exception, not the rule.

01/01/2019 - 3:39pm Far from an original thought…

Far from an original thought in the OP, but a very interesting conversation nonetheless. With the increased awareness of how badly an NFL career can destroy the body, there’s a lot of logic behind minimizing impact on your body.

But I think there is some merit (at least, more than most posters here give credit for) to the idea that you gotta go all in to be successful. Do you think players who are weighing risk on a daily basis will be as successful as those who just go all in? Time will tell, I guess.

01/01/2019 - 3:35pm I’m not following why you…

I’m not following why you think the NFL would care, or what they could do about it. I understand it may be a dumb idea for a player to miss a year of game experience, but if they want to sit out, why does the NFL care? They can’t force a kid to play NCAA

01/01/2019 - 2:46pm What this dude said is good…

What this dude said is good advice. There's a reason you shouldn't be taking legal advice from this board. You don't yet know whether there is long term damage, you may be able to recover the costs of the ER visit, you would probably get a contingent representation...at least do yourself a favor and try something like reddits legal advice board.

Losing is so annoying. I feel a little ripped off since the Stanford offenses were obviously awesome and were not really getting the same thing.
