I feel bad wanting to mock him, be he has such a track record of being an outright liar that I just don't know how much I can buy into any news related to his health
October 30th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
These sorts of things tend to be objectively verifiable... I suppose you could make some comment about the coincidental nature of the timing with his health issues and the direction that his football programs tend to take... but that'd make you an ass more than anything else.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
How do you verify this exactly? He's not having a Dr. up there releasing his medical records....he could be 100% bullshitting and we would never know.
EDIT: Nevermind.....read the entire piece AFTER posting like an idiot

Not at all. I hadn't read it either. OP was a bit mum on any link to the article. But the claim was too specific re: brain cyst to sound in BS to me. Either you got one or your don't (unless you have many), and people may start to ask for proof if you're the one making the claim.
October 31st, 2018 at 12:18 PM ^
An ass? It'd make him the guy pointing out what everyone else is thinking. Hell, you thought it enough to comment on it. The guy has a history as a narcissist and outright liar. Would you call someone an ass for pointing out Chicken Little is telling everyone the sky is falling again and maybe he's skeptical? I don't think the saying is "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, some guy on the internet said I was an ass to take your history of deciet into account so...."
October 30th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
I sympathize with his condition, but also understand he is a fraud and a liar and this condition does not change that.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:20 PM ^
Man, everyone here is being so cruel. If you guys keep this up and Urban gets wind of it, he’s going to have his lawyer send a cease a de-cyst letter!!!
October 30th, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
I don't know if I want to groan or applaud that one...
October 30th, 2018 at 4:32 PM ^
It's OK, I groaned myself...

You're reaching your limit on bad puns. You only get tumor before I report you to the Moms.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:29 PM ^
It's part of my cerebral nature. I couldn't stem the tide of these puns even if I had the nerve to do so.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:52 PM ^
These puns give me a headache
October 30th, 2018 at 7:24 PM ^
You just couldn’t re-cyst, could you?
October 30th, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Impressive. +1
October 30th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
It’s not a tumor!
October 30th, 2018 at 6:00 PM ^
Did the story about the arachnoid cyst get your spidey senses tingling?
October 30th, 2018 at 6:56 PM ^
No, but it does have me imagining a spider nurturing a sac of spiderlings inside his head, then all the spiderlings hatchings and streaming from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
EDIT: Actually, I feel like this needs to be a (somewhat tasteless) photoshop of the Urban Meyer Surrender Cobra picture...
October 30th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
I saw an article where he said he was definitely returning to OSU next year. And if there is one thing we know about Urban Meyer, it's that you can always take him at his word.

Yeah, I was at BGSU when he had something special going, told the folks he was here to win and stay, Mofo was on a plane the next day to Utah. Can't say I blame him, but just the way he did it was shitty.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
Ay Ziggy Zoomba
I was there in the late 90's and some folks I knew were still around when Urban was on campus. From what they've told me in their interactions with him at the FieldHouse he has always been (and likely always will be, if his hairdresser can be believed [she used to be my Wifes hairdresser as well]).
Bummer for him but I know far worse things happening to far better people

"Bummer for him but I know far worse things happening to far better people"
Isn't that the truth. Feel bad for his family, but I won't be shedding any tears.

My dad went to some benefit where Meyer was the guest speaker back when he was at BGSU. He said he pretty much acted like he was God's gift to the world the whole time. He said he went to the same benefit a few years before and Saban was the guest speaker back when he was at Toledo and he was actually pretty nice.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
Maybe it's true, maybe it isnt. But at this point I'd put the chances of him coaching next year at somewhere below 40%.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:38 PM ^
I mean it'd be pretty ballsy for Urban to get brain surgery 3-4 times to maintain the ploy haha.
Honestly, I never doubted that Urban had "health problems" even at Florida. I know we all like to joke about the co-ed thing, but really the guy objectively does not look healthy.
He is a complete and nervous wreck on the sideline every week. It cannot be good to constantly be running at that high of a stress level 24/7. Dude needs to take a step back and realize it is just a game, and to chill out... but then he would be the micromanager that got 3 titles either.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
Sounds legit...
October 30th, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
To quote someone somewhere, "I hope you have a headache the rest of your life you slimy fuck."
October 30th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
I'd have some sympathy if he wasn't such an attention whore and generally awful human being.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
"I'M RETURNING TO THEEEE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY AS THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH NEXT SEASON BITCHEZ"
Also Urban Meyer: "Let me go ahead and detail this cyst I got in my brain that causes aggressive headaches right quick".
October 30th, 2018 at 4:26 PM ^
Nothing like having an emergency escape hatch...
October 30th, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
Good.
No sympathy for the enemy.

Has to be bad if he can remember the pain.

NFG takes a medication that causes him to forget he already posted something once.

Holiday season is around the corner. I’m trying to build up as many points as possible for Christmas gifts.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
My father had a cyst at 60 on the surface of his brain. They scooped if off with minimal surgery but he still lost a lot of his left arm use. Did some rehab and radiation to be sure. 6 years later it returned as aggressive cancer - he didn't make it.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:29 PM ^
Sorry for your loss. That's terrible.
I hate Urban Meyer as much as anyone. I find him to be everything that is wrong with NCAA sports - slimy, liar, no credibility, me-first culture, no ethics, etc. But, I won't make fun of this because health issues suck, regardless of whether he is a good guy or a bad guy. Not saying that I will hold a vigil for the guy - like someone upthread said, far worse things happen to far better people - but I don't ever root for or cheer on illness.

October 30th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
Hmm. Not a doctor but my guess is that the cyst must be by his prefrontal cortex. It affects short-term memory.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
The Browns have a coaching vacancy ...
I'm just saying ...
October 30th, 2018 at 4:09 PM ^
Close.....
October 30th, 2018 at 4:28 PM ^
so, lets pretend we're in a hypothetical land where the Browns arent going to hire an NFL coach (i.e DeFillipo, Toub, Carmichael, Schwartz).
Lets also pretend Lincoln Riley and Matt Campbell are interested. Who would you rather out of those two?
October 30th, 2018 at 7:29 PM ^
Lincoln Riley. The Mayfield connection

Replace the word cyst or words referring to the cyst with the word conscience in that article and the story makes a lot more sense. Couple examples:
Meyer has been peppered with questions about his health and future in coaching. He said the cause of the discomfort links back to a conscience in his brain, which has led to severe headaches at times in his career...
...“The past four years, we’ve been working closely with coach Meyer to monitor and manage the symptoms that have risen from his enlarged conscience ,” said Dr. Andrew Thomas, Meyer’s personal physician and the chief clinical officer at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. “This includes aggressive headaches, which have particularly flared up the past two years...”
...The most visible manifestation of this came during that Indiana game. Meyer went down on one knee and was attended to by both a team athletic trainer and a team doctor because of a headache tied to the conscience.
now the article is more believable.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
Actually, far less believable...dude has no conscience and has proven that repeatedly
October 30th, 2018 at 5:55 PM ^
Plug in “lack of conscience” and we are on to something again.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
He's gonna have a FAR bigger headache on November 24 from 12-330pm
October 30th, 2018 at 4:18 PM ^
That's when his head explodes like that dude in scanners and then a billion spiders erupt from the arachnid cyst and rain down on THE cooler pooper nation.

Looking forward to the MS Paint version of this scene.
