No one slammed you for false info. We slammed you for being a pompous "I know info and I'll be cryptic about it and create a bunch of speculation by trickling out some info but not all of it", and then following it up by acting like you were some special flower who people would come crawling back to apologizing.

If you're referring to the posts I saw, then no there isn't any scuttlebutt. It's literally someone just guessing Filiaga for no reason and with no evidence. Every time a rumor comes up about a transfer or an injury, people come rushing in to say "I have no evidence to support this, but probably player x just because." Then someone else reads it, takes it seriously and posts on a different board that they've heard something, and now the echo chamber is in full effect and people are speculating on kids who aren't involved in anyway.

Maybe some of the guesses are right (they're bound to be at least some of the time) but posters really need to stop with the random guess with no evidence. It offers nothing to the conversation and can only hurt the players.

Remember you can transfer anytime this year (before 4 weeks now) and enroll in a different school and that would count as your redshirt. Barnett did this at Alabama a couple years back before heading to ASU (during the year)

You keep getting negged because you have no track record of insidery stuff, so don't be upset when people call you on it.  You want that respect?  Tell us and sit quiet until your predictions become true.  A gentle reminder may be needed, depending on how much time elapses between prediction (leak) and public mention of it.  But eventually, you'll get yourself established.  If you want a quicker path, try privately emailing Brian with your story - who you are, what your role is, etc.  Let him establish some ground truth.  If he vouches for you (like he did for UMBig11), you're gold.

But don't be whiny because of a few negs when you drop bombs and just tell us to 'believe you because you know'.

Lmao, I don’t need anyone to stand up for me. And I am not to bitter, more annoyed because any bad news reported on this site the last few years unless from 3-4 posters gets blasted. And yes my track record is fine and I have not posted anything here that has not came to fruition. Over the last 5 plus years I’ve only posted a handful of things and everyone of them has happened. Look, I am not someone who even lives here in Ann Arbor, I am a West Coast guy who just so happens to be very well connected in college and pro sports. Just sit back and watch again. Trust me I hate this as much as everyone else, but it is what it is. Go Blue

I don't know anything about you, haven't voted on any of your posts, and won't pass judgement on the information you've provided in this thread one way or the other. But you have to understand that coming into the biggest Michigan forum on the internet and purporting to have huge insider information that you're being intentionally vague about is going to get you some downvotes, and the way to establish credibility (if you care about perceived message board credibility, which you understandably may or may not) is to be at least somewhat specific, leave some bread crumbs so that if/when this happens we can say "oh wow he really did know in advance" and then next time you post something important we'll know you can be trusted.

UMBIG11 is a great example of a message board insider who does a great job not giving out information that he shouldn't but providing insider knowledge to the board and being respected for it.

Can you provide us any additional information other than "he's on the line on one side of the ball or the other and fans won't be happy about it"? I can't think of many transfers five days before kickoff that fans would be happy about. Do you have any information on why this player is transferring? Homesick? Playing time? Would this player have seen the field this season? In the two deep? Can you tell us what year they're in? There are plenty of ways to clue us in a little bit without outright dropping names and getting ahead of the story.

Again, you might not care one way or the other and I wouldn't blame you, but in general it'd probably be better to say nothing at all than to come onto a message board like this, whipped up into a frenzy about the start of the season, and saying "I have very important insider information that I'm sure you'd all love to know but I can't tell you! You'll find out eventually."

I hope you're wrong and if you're right I wish the player the best and hope he gets what he's looking for elsewhere. Go Blue, beat ND.

I like the fact that you are sticking to your guns and waiting for something concrete. No worries here. There have been a handful of things circulating today and it's better to wait. Personally, I think the program being in the submarine is partially to blame. You get nothing from the interviews and that creates even more speculation. Especially on a message board, which everyone here has the right to do. The members on this blog are as passionate as they get when it comes to Michigan football!

I love it.  Not your news of course but the down voting of it.

I have said for years here that the only thing this board hates more than bad news being posted is bad news being posted that comes to fruition.  I can assure you that if your prediction comes true not one of the people down voting you will come back and change their vote to a positive one.  If anything you'll get down voted even more robustly next time you say anything IF you have the audacity to remind folks you were right the last time.

...Or he can say it when it is the right time. I don’t know 626 from a can of paint. But we have to stop claiming people do not have insider info just because they don’t give us everything we desire when we want it. It may be the case where he doesn’t want to drop the name as to not further complicate things for that player. Maybe the player has not reached out to the proper channels to fully go through with the transfer process and doesn’t want those people finding out on MGoBlog. If no lineman transfer in the next few weeks, then ban him or treat him appropriately. Until then let him be, we have no info right now so him holding his tounge is not moving the needle one way or another.

If it’s a lineman Judging from roster composition I’d say either Filiaga or Hudson.  Filiaga maybe didn’t like the position switch to interior and really has t been mentioned regarding playing time, Hudson presumably lost the starting RT position to JBB outside shot of Solomon for other reasons, i’ve Always felt from the way his commitment went down he was never 100 percent sold on UM, when Otis Reese decomitted I kind of wondered how settled in Solomon was, and what he was communicating to Reese being that the two were from the same high school.

Trying to decode your words since yesterday, I deduce the following.

You said/hinted it was on the line.  Not a starter (I assumed as you just confirmed) as that would be more severe than “you won’t like it”.

I am hesitant to think it would be anyone on the 2-deep on the DL due to rotation access to snaps.

i am hesitant to think it would be a hyped 2nd year dealing with injuries (Vilain) and particularly in a spot losing 2-starters after this year.  (DE) So I am assuming it isn’t him.

I am going to guess that it is a touted recruit that has clearly been passed by this incoming class, and since 2018 was “light” on DT it pushes me toward the OL and particularly tackle.

It is clear that - while NOT likely to be a starter - Mayfield has lit things up at OT and will be a contender to start once he gains the weight and strength required...(as early as next year?)  With Hudson being hinted as overtaking JBB sometime this year this leads me to tackles as you potentially have RS Frosh/RS Soph bookend tackles in 2019.  Therefore my best guess list would be (in order of not liking....)

Steuber - Hurt. Maybe got passed in camp?

Honigford - not much camp info but a pretty highly ranked recruit.

Filiaga - Now actually an interior guy with 4 non-Seniors ahead of him for 3 spots. (Add out-of-state to this and he is probably my “most likely”)

Jeter at DT - loss of future depth or starter

Any other non-2 deep OL (Paea still a ?, most M fans would - unfairly - say Ulizio is not a loss etc.)

Any other non 2-deep DL.

"Filiaga - Now actually an interior guy with 4 non-Seniors ahead of him for 3 spots. (Add out-of-state to this and he is probably my “most likely"

Sure, a guy who red-shirted last year—which is an extremely common thing for OL at any school—is going to be so mightily pissed off that older talented guys with playing time under their belts will see the field before him that he is going to transfer.

"Honestly, I wasn't mad. But it was a bummer to redshirt," Filiaga said over the weekend. "If you look at the bright side, though, it helped me improve on some of the skills I needed to improve on at this level."

Yep, he's obviously got one foot out the door already. Clearly, after practicing but not playing for an entire season in 2017, he's going to transfer right before the season opener so he can practice but not play for an entire second season in a row.

I doubt it is Filiaga because he was dressed and participating at the open practice according to a member here.

I would think Harbaugh would not dress a kid who quit on THE TEAM.

So of all the names mentioned, who was not on the field Sunday Evening?  It has to come from one of these awol players.

How immediate is enough?  My gut tells me that Hudson would be starting if our opener was at home against a MAC team.

You really don’t want to baptize a kid in fire if you don’t have to - and from everything I have heard/read JBB is really well liked by the team.  Give him the opening start in his final season and let the chips fall where they may going forward.

Wtf is this?  This type of rampant speculation is exactly the reason to not post extremely vague insider "info" on a potential transfer.

Try this rule, 626:  If my info is accurate, but I'm only going to share enough to cause rampant speculation, I'll just keep it to myself.

I just really hope it’s not vilain or Solomon.

Edit: seriously who is negging every post on here?
