Roll Damn Tide Explanation?
that thread was hilarious.
wish i could have seen RDT/in a bag's reaction when he realized he posted under the wrong screenname.
Still among the most disappointing days in my entire life.
Guess I've lived a decent life though. Still hurts.
Your life must be amazing...
Yeah I pretty much read Batman comics while watching sports and drinking whiskey and wine when I'm not working.
You must not have a wife
Don't want one at the moment. I'm 23 and cheap.
And I'm assuming that wives don't let you read Batman comics and drink at home alot? That is why there's like a 50% divorce rate in this country.
DO NOT GET MARRIED i repeat DO NOT GET MARRIED. Most women will just see that your a cheap date and assume they can just absorb ALL your money. Trust me get a hooker, its cheaper.
Hmm, are you "in need of an explanation of Spartan fans," too?
See Dear Diary of a few weeks ago: http://mgoblog.com/content/dear-diary-forges-more-perfect-union
...called well, Alabama. It is in a magic conference called the ESS EEE SEE. When the fans want their beloved footballers to win the MNC they all yell in unison, "Roll Damn Tide." Then the opposing fans in response all yell, "Around the rim and down the hole. War Damn Eagle." Then they all oversign and live happily ever after.
The End.
Even though you were being sarcastic, that was actually interesting. I never knew that.
Once this was all made public, my image of RDT/WIAB choosing which login to use for a given thread or post turned to something like this:
Left = RDT
Center = WIAB
Right = that AU poster a few days after the outing, or maybe a future LSU incarnation.
RDT???
The original RDT shows up.
ok everyone, I have a confession - I never understood why anyone cared about any of this, ever. it's the internet. tis a silly place.
And I'm totally mystified by the obsession with a single poster who wasn't even a Michigan fan.
Also, mystified by "cat breading." http://www.breadedcats.com/
CAUSE SHANE DESERVES TO BE MAGIC PIXIE ELITE 11 AND TRENT IS STOOPID
...bucky badger avatar with a MICHIGAN flag?
Just sayin'...
tis a silly avatar, but that's why it's on the internet, where it belongs. you see, it's a metaphor for me being a grad student at UW but still 'carrying' my Michigan pride for everyone to see.
Even if you go to another school for your masters, why would you ever stop being a Wolverine?
I almost went to state for grad school... how awkard would that be?
Instead I went cheap and went EMU
well that's the whole point. I still feel like I am a wolverine, even though on paper I'm now a badger. and it's a PhD! plus, for avatar purposes, there isn't a wolverine mascot, so Bucky works.
a model.
wrong reply
I was obsessed with that Farrah poster in the 70's AND I prefer my cat breaded, but only because it locks in the moisture. Cat is notoriously dry cooked any other way.
Except obsessed with his recruiting connections except his dogs.
to the Hall-of-Fame. Hopefully this will reduce the number of questions about why he stopped posting a month ago.
who is this McFarlin guy everyone keeps talking about?
...you can't afford it".
Seriously though, McFarlin has become one of the most esoteric parts of the MGoLexicon because no one will explain McFarlin (for obvious reasons, once you know who McFarlin was) to those who ask.
Why is there not an MGoGlossary? I know the project has been tried before (in the HOF), but it's horribly outdated and its scope is terribly limited.
Chic-fil-A thread a bit earlier. That thread, however, was sent to Bolivia for reasons obvious to anyone who read the thread. However, the collateral damage is that we lost the damn RDT/WiaB explanation of why he attempted to dupe his Mgobrethren/sistren.
Mods, any chance you can just extract the RDT/WiaB reply and post it as a thread or diary? I am telling you, it will be Internet gold!
plus also that I got the first word in afterwards (just much less epic than in the original).
I have to see that!
And I came across this today:

The defense of RDT is hilarious in retrospect.
about asking and receiving? Anyway:
Ok, so I probably owe everyone an explanation. I'll give everyone the abbreviated version, to spare everyone the use of "I didn't read it, lol" images. Anyway, I grew up in a family deeply rooted in Alabama football. I come from a typical General Motors family, with one grand parent from Michigan, and the other from the south. Given this, I still have most of my Dad's side of the family in the south. I on the other hand, trended to my Mother's family's love of The Univetsity of Michigan, given that both my grandparents graduated from UM. My father being a graduate of the University of Alabama, followed a three generations of UA graduates. Like my father, my cousin (who began posting as RDT) is also an Alabama grad, who While he was still teaching, was an assistant for one of the better high school programs in the state. During this time, he met a lot of people associated in recruiting, and the guy knows his stuff. With that in mind, my original intent, was to start a recruiting blog, with a few other people I knew from around the country, and people my cousin knew. This plan got derailed when my wife got pregnant, and I came to the realization that I just wouldn't have time for it. I knew Mgoblog would be a great start for us to build up an interested fan base. With Greg (RDT) being a really funny guy, I suggested he start an account, and just start posting, he did and everyone enjoyed it. People will disagree with this, because of how it ended up, but Greg was right about everything he said, with the exception of Ty Isaac. As these things go, Greg got bored, and really stopped posting all together, except for a few things here and there. Then, RDT became a bunch of us, with us all having access to the account. A few people started noticing differences in the writing, from when he first started posting until then. Mark and Jay, who didn't really frequent Mgoblog (being Illinois guys) didn't know the forum rules, and would double post things quite a bit. Then came my infamous post mistake from my phone, when I was on both mine and rdt's account. From there I'm sure you all know the rest. This is the Internet, so I don't expect anyone to believe this. With that bring said, I'm going to post a video with all of us that will launch the blog we're starting next week. Even though a lot of you are ticked off at me, but if you liked Greg's writings on here, you'll enjoy our blog. Again, I'm sorry, I never meant to mislead anyone, but when RDT took off like wild fire, it didn't make sense for any of us to keep posting ourselves.
This was followed by everyone's predictable responses about trust and getting a life and whatnot, so WIAB posted this as a reply:
Extremely long work weeks, a wife, and a 6 month old don't allow me a great deal of time. Like I said, you can believe anything you want, I have nothing to hide. The reason I didn't post sooner, is that like I was taught in the army, you always want to stand at least 75 yards away from something that is about to explode.
Now I respect him even less.
And was one of his many friends Willhouse?
