Funny choice of words, I am sure Jalen and Juwan would be very interested!

You are clearly demonstrating

You are clearly demonstrating how much classier the UM fan is with this post.  Way to go!

It's national signing day and

It's national signing day and you're writing a hypothetical conversation with Izzo?

Yes, because UM was the first

Yes, because UM was the first team ever to get HD scoreboards.  Also the first to play an outdoor hockey game.  They didn't copy that from anyone else, right?

I can't imagine an MSU player

I can't imagine an MSU player running his mouth like Mike Hart either

Pennsylvania - now in

Pennsylvania - now in Michigan!  At least you didn't make any snide remarks about intelligence!

Not true.

His very first line is giving credit to the original post as his inspiration.  Not awkward.

Why?

I am genuinely curious as to why you think this, and not trying be snarky at all.  I just don't see any serious indications this is the case.

I think you could get your point across better with more exclamation marks.  Just a tip for future postings.

This is just not true.  Sure

This is just not true.  Sure experience helps, but it is not necessary.  There are few sports where freshman can contribute as significantly, and as soon, as they do in college basketball.

Brandon said the new coach would need to have prior head coaching experience

If he really wanted to be at

If he really wanted to be at UM he already would.  Otherwise he is just screwing his own recruiting class over, making his job (which is not going to be easy to begin with) that much harder.  Doesn't make sense.

I don't think you located the joke.

Unfortunately, can't say the

Unfortunately, can't say the same about spelling and grammar.

I doubt these prospects

I doubt these prospects aren't being loyal to their roots.  Their roots are probably vested in MSU.  Recruits now are about 17 or 18 years old.  When was the last time UM had the upper hand in bball, '96?  Since they were 4 years old they have watched MSU as the dominant in state team.

MSU is only 7-3, but look at

MSU is only 7-3, but look at the teams they have lost to.  Different situtation than UM at 10-2

Also the head coach of

Obsessed much?  This thread

Obsessed much?  This thread is about our bowl game vs. Mississippi State University.  Why bring up Dantonio?

I would neg you if I could.

I would neg you if I could.  Not for your opinions - it's great that you are willing to question things about the team instead of expressing blind optimism.  Unfortunately few posters here see things that way.

I would, however, neg you for being a nancy and and backtracking on your opinions.

A small part of that may be

A small part of that may be because our defense BLOWS ASS.  If you are on the field for twice as long you are going to have many more opportunites to make plays.  I haven't heard anyone (credible) claim Mouton is in the same conversation as Jones

Are you aware we were called

Are you aware we were called for a chop block against MSU?  Even before MSU committed theirs?  Maybe that was payback for our cheap shot against them.  The hypocrisy here is amazing sometimes.

"they might not look like

"they might not look like they know what they're doing at times, but they play hard and that is all you can ask for"

Are you kidding me?  A coach is there to teach players to improve and win games.  A major part of this is "knowing what to do".

"When a Cheerleader has his players thinking of the 'Team' and giving it their 'all' on every play, then the Cheerleader is doing his job"

Fixed it for you.

In the MSU game, you can't

In the MSU game, you can't count the Stonum overthrow as leaving points on the field because we scored a TD anyways just a few plays later.

Edit:  Thinking of the wrong play.  Oops.

And yet look at the athletic

And yet look at the athletic department he oversees and the attention he gets for MSU.  Not too shabby.

Losing to an FCS school?

Losing to an FCS school?  Yeah, who does that!?

To be fair, what game has

To be fair, what game has been more impressive than the UConn win?  We dominated.  Since then our signature win is either over a Crist-less ND team or a game in which we gave up 65 points to a mediocre Illini squad (who subsequently lost, at home, to 1-9 Minnesota).  Now I don't agree with the article, but to say he's seen no progress is not that hard to agree with.

As a side note, I hate all the "boo hoo, someone wrote a bad article about MIchigan" posts.  Someone thinks we should look better against the Purdues and the Illinois of the world?  Guess what, so do I.  Quit making excuses as to why we struggle.  Until we sack up and admit we have no excuses for not being better, we won't be.

Serious question Nate . . .

Serious question Nate . . . didn't you go to State?  Not meant to flame you at all, I just wonder why you don't associate yourself with MSU and you do associate with UM.  Sorry if I am mistaken.

Slow down there.  I'm

Slow down there.  I'm automatically racist for saying that?  Damn.  You're the one who jumped on that thought right away, just saying.

All I'm saying is I think he would be utilized in other ways if possible.  How many drives have died when it's 3rd and 10 and the defense knows he is going to pass?  I'm not saying he can't throw the ball downfield, but don't tell me he is great at it either.  The majority of his completions are safe throws which result in YAC.

As it is, teams have to gameplan for Denard.  How much time do you think they spend (waste) on other players?  Look at what MSU did, they made him throw and they won the game because of his mistakes (not taking anything away from MSU, they made all the plays).  He could be just as electric at another position, plus if UM had a different QB the team would have a few more options.  I appreciate he is a great talent, there is no denying that.

So quit whining and learn how to think critically.  TIA.

Denard is a running back or

Denard is a running back or slot receiver.

He plays QB because he is the best option Rich Rod has but anywhere else (even other spread teams IMO) he would be at another position.

Vegas doesn't necessarily set

Vegas doesn't necessarily set odds the way they think a game is going to turn out, they set odds so they can maximize their profit and minimize risk.  It's a business.  The fact that the line is going more in UM's favor means more people are throwing money on them, so Vegas offsets that to get more people to throw down on the Illini.  They want balanced action on either side, then the pay out is minimal and they take their cut of all the bets.

I wouldn't rule MSU out just

I wouldn't rule MSU out just because he will not take an official there.  Being from Saginaw he has plenty of opportunities to visit the in-state schools unofficially and has visited MSU several times I think.  However I'm no recruitnik so who knows.

Is anyone here aware, or man

Is anyone here aware, or man enough to admit, that Michigan originally fought to have the agricultural school as part of their own campus?

Quick question . . . what's

Quick question . . . what's the appeal of going to Michigan if you're a big time recruit?  Poor recent history, no practice facility, not even Midnight Madness to celebrate the team.
