Spartan Helmets next to our recruits

Submitted by NOLA Blue on

Looks like sparty fans are following the old addage of:  if you can't beat 'em, bug 'em.

ESPN's recruiting page now displays Spartan garb next to the names of our recruits.  Yesterday the names featured a block M to their left.  Computer hijackery?  I think so.

Be afraid sparty, be very afraid.

It's not sparty.  ESPN always does this.  When a recruit commits, they'll change the icon next to the name from the team he committed to and schools that were in the running, because for instance they know that seeing the spartan logo will increase the odds that a spartan fan clicks on the link, thus giving them more hits.  They do this with every recruit.

and manipulative business that ESPN is doing. Not saying it's illegal, but I hate hearing about how I'm manipulated all the time by marketers and salespersons. Oh, well, it's spring and the red cedar will be stinking up the summer before long...
