In other breaking news: Water (in a liquid state) has been confirmed to be wet

Just like the fact that everyone from Hoke's first class (and some of the 2012 kids too), are never going to play Wisconsin.

Obviously I'm just another message board guy, but this all went down at Skeeps weekend after 4th of July

I dunno, would Florida really go after another highly-touted Defensive Coordinator? I would bet they're gonna look for someone with HC experience

Agreed here as well.
It was fun, but if they ever have two Champions League teams here again, they need to loosen up on the restrictions.
We all probably knew about the no bags rule, but I heard more than a few people complaining about it. Then there were no noise makers allowed, or flags, or flag poles.
I mean someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that basically soccer fandom? Banging on drums, chanting/cheering, and waving your teams flag around?

I don't anybody says this is 'needed', it's just a nice extra

Good. Get some use out of the stadium, I'd rather go to the Big House for a movie night than to some park with a junky projector and screen/tarp.
Now I think it would be better if it was open to the public, but that's just me. You could show off the stadium to kids from families that can't necessarily afford a football Saturday

Dany Heatley - 1 year deal with Anaheim, 1 million flat. No bonuses. 2013-2014 stats
Danny Cleary - 1 year deal with Detroit. 1.5 million plus 1 million in bonuses. 2013-2014 stats
Those last few lines, where Cleary has all 0's, are playoff stats. Yet he earns more....
|5 weeks 5 days ago||It's really hard to buy the||
It's really hard to buy the "Detroit is a struggling city where athletes don't want to live" meme when the city has, you know, 3 other professional teams. The Lions, Tigers, and even the goddamned Pistons haven't had as much trouble attracting free agents as the Wings have had.
I mean that argument implies that athletes have to live exactly in city borders, and can't just go live in the suburbs, like the rest of the rich people in SE Michigan.
Second, see the tweet below. Guys like Jurco and Mantha aren't going to be up with the Wings, because of signing over the hill guys like Cleary and to a certain degree Alfredsson. Did you forget that last year Nyquist and Tatar both started the year in Grand Rapids? Imagine where we would have been if instead of Cleary last year (8 pts in 52 games) if we had Nyquist the whole year?
This is a shitty signing, on top of several years of shitty signings and roster management
|5 weeks 5 days ago||This just infuriates||
This just infuriates me:
This organization absolutely refuses to give the younger players a chance, and instead we're signing over the hill players who aren't helping the team.
What's that Quincey? You're playing bottom pair minutes and everybody can't wait for you to be out of town? Hahaha nope! How about 2 more years and a raise!
Same for you Cleary. I know you only 8 points in 52 games last year but made 1.75 million, but fuck everything, I said the Wings would take care of you this year, and instead of giving you a scouting job somewhere, I'm going to give you another hockey contract, and give you a raise!

I really don't know what to say. The Wings have slowly been creeping backwards since 2009, and Holland has done jack all to improve the team since then.
It's time for him to go

Dunno if you'll actually see this or not, but I'd be interested in that.
I'm mostly rubbish at the game part of it, but I definitely fit the bill athletic wise

There's no way in hell that happens.
If the new president comes in waving his dick around, DB is definitely gonna push back
|7 weeks 4 hours ago||Exactly this. You want to||
Exactly this. You want to argue about seeing Barry Sanders, or Denard Robinson, or someone like DeSean Jackson? That's something to think about.
But not, LeBron, or Megatron, or any other of our "best" athletes. It bears repeating, the US isn't getting out-athlete'd when we play.

I sorta agree. I think complaining about it is generally useless, since it's well already happened. But why not have 15 minutes of bitching before getting on with everything

I know it's arbitary and all, but the fact that Izzo is above Beilein is just stupid, especially since the list is supposed to be based on "recent" performance.

|8 weeks 7 hours ago||Using MGoBlog as "proof" of||
Using MGoBlog as "proof" of anything regarding the NBA is stupid. I've lost track of how many times someone on here has posted "I quit watching the NBA 15 years ago, and haven't seen a game since, but let me tell you all the reasons why it sucks" or something like that
So using a bunch of NBA haters as "proof" that LeBron is hated is ridiculous

I think you're missing his point. He's not saying that NFL players are just skill-less hunks of muscle, but basically that of all the major sports, football has the easiest learning curve

Basketball and Football haven't been around for 150 years
|8 weeks 1 day ago||Agreed. In a lot of youth||
Agreed. In a lot of youth sports now a days, it feels like there's too much emphasis on the physical side of things. "Just be bigger and faster and you'll win!"
It's 2 years old, but this article (http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?storyId=7790903&src=desktop) talks about how we're starting to change the culture of the soccer academies, focus less on win now, and more about the technical side of things
|8 weeks 1 day ago||Regarding the technical||
Regarding the technical aspects of it, I feel like a relatively easy thing to do would be to try and promote futsal as a winter alternative.
For those unaware, futsal is played on a field about the size of a basketball court, and it's 4v4 plus goalies. They did studies and kids touch the ball 5 times add much as during a regular soccer match, and added in with the smaller playing field, it helps develop more precise ball handling skills and quick decision making.
And then when kids hit puberty, you can worry about training them for the long running and such
