Just a fun find. He went to the same high school as my wife

Oh man. If DG had Harbaugh and a decent O-line, then people would now be talking about Mike Penix as the next Devin Gardner.

He and Brandon Graham are two players who were most deserving of success that they never got to experience. DG is one of my all-time favorite Wolverines for that reason.

Looks like his most recent stop was as TE coach of the Chargers.

But now Jim Harbaugh is there and Koger isn't.

Clearly Jim Harbaugh hates Michigan b/c he didn't retain Koger.

Guess Jim may want his son to coach the tight ends instead of Koger?

Saw somewhere that Sherrone was also interested in bringing him to Michigan.

I do remember him, especially since Devin called him the ugliest teammate he ever had on Sam’s show.  Seemed kind of harsh but apparently it comes from love haha

Moore was trying to get him at Michigan. NFL pull for these coaches is really, college football has an emerging issue with the demands put on the coaches.

Word is Moore wants Roy Manning for the LB coaching job (which would be HUGE for recruiting after losing Patridge), but Mannig is also looking at the NFL.

Difference is, Koger was already in the NFL, Manning has been In college.

The New York Giants still haven’t hired a defensive coordinator yet. Their current linebackers coach, John Egorugwu, was a defensive analyst for the Ravens for a few years and was a linebackers coach at Vanderbilt for the one year that Minter was the DC. Without Wink Martindale with the Giants, he might be out of a job once a new DC is named. I don’t think he’d be a candidate for a defensive coordinator role, but it would be worth poking the tires on him as a linebackers coach. He is a John Harbaugh, Wink Martindale and Jesse Minter guy, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chargers, Seahawks or Ravens call him, but he’d definitely fill a major need for Michigan if he is out in NY and doesn’t catch on with another NFL team.
