No real comment other than "I like football and I'm moving on"

Enjoy paying your $8/month for it. couldn’t get me to sign up for it if it was free. Like another poster here has said, Elon Musk is not your friend, buddy.

Never had Twitter and I’m glad I don’t. It’s a toxic cesspit that allows people to become the worst versions of themselves, and gives the most despicable members of the human race a platform to spew their bullshit.

Absolutely it was. I don’t think the people who ran it before were my friends, either. But just because something might be better does not mean it’s all of a sudden a good thing. It’s like you initially overcooked dinner by two hours, re-did it, and then the second time you overcooked it by an hour. The second time around might be better, but dinner is still fucked.

You could tell me that Gandhi came back from the dead to run Twitter. I’d still think Twitter causes more harm to our society and grossly outweighs any good it provides. That’s not a knock on Musk, but I don’t think there’s much he can do to change that. This is what Twitter fundamentally is.

Are you sure you’re not talking about Reddit? Twitter is pretty tame IMO. No one really tweets anymore, they just follow various talking heads

It’s arguably more entertaining. There is definitely a lot more fraud and inauthenticity on the platform since he bought it, which is the foundation of the ideals he’s been pandering to lately, so I guess that could be considered better by some. Für die Lulz 😂

That’s what you call the effort by Musk to protect free speech by deconstructing the politically motivated bias, collusion and silencing of dissenting voices on the most powerful social media “town square” in the world?  Cool.  Not defending Twitter per se, but to demean the man’s motives in protecting free speech, likely because they don’t square with your ideology, is beneath you.

1 - Elon Musk doesn’t give a rats ass about “free speech”, he bought Twitter because he’s a narcissistic moron

2 - The 1st Amendment does not apply to Twitter (or Facebook, or Reddit, or MGoBlog) or any other private company.

Next time please take a basic Civics class before commenting, it’ll save the rest of us having to read stupid comments

“narcissistic moron”

he may be a narcissist but he is one of the farthest examples of “moron” on the planet.

morons dont build multiple businesses, essentially create a new NASA, redefine what a car is, create thousands of jobs, generate hundreds of million of dollars for the US economy, and generate billions in wealth for himself.

your post smacks of either jealousy, or complete separation from the real world because of political bias

You are right about the 1st amendment though. People who split off about it generally have zero idea of what it means.

He’s a dude who CREATED his money by astute and shrewd business decisions. He’s also incredibly smart. Most CEOs are thought of as shitbags.

asshole =\= moron. Moron means stupid, ignorant, etc.

he is very far from a moron.

And personally, I think he bought Twitter for the purpose of fucking it up. When you have that much money, why not buy the biggest social media platform and turn it into a place where you can troll people?? He could have lit $40 billion dollars on fire and still lived his life just as before

Created his money? He’s not a worker. He’s essentially an investor who has made some excellent capital allocation decisions. Other people make his money for him, and he takes it because he bought the right to do so. As far as I can tell, he hasn’t *created* much value since he wrote the code for PayPal. But he has supported others who create value and has taken some risky bets which obviously paid off big (jury is still out on his latest venture), so I’ll give credit where credit is due.

Yup--Musk bought Tesla, he didn't build it. In fact, he's now tanking Tesla's stock with his Twitter bullshit. And Tesla is rapidly losing the EV market share (which is hardly huge) to established car markers whose cars don't, um, blow up or drive themselves into massive pile-ups. SpaceX is NOT the new NASA. They make launch vehicles which...great. There are other companies that do that. They'll be the new NASA when they put a telescope up that can see back to the beginning of time. Elon Musk isn't a genius. He's a fraud who fooled his fanboys into believing he's Tony Stark when he's nothing more than a flailing venture capitalist.

Ummm... NASA didn't launch JWST.

NASA doesn't control JWST.

NASA didn't build JWST.

NASA at this point is essentially a contracts administrator.

SpaceX can launch 40 Falcon Heavys (and in days) for the same price of one SLS.  Think about that for a moment -- how much fucking money the federal gov't pisses away on SLS.

Just have the integrity to actually be honest and say you dislike Musk because his politics have changed and no longer align with yours.  Otherwise your post is pure nonsense.

This is likely the worst post you have ever made.  It's bad and you should feel bad.

  • Regardless of how or why, Musk has done more to advance the EV and autonomous driving industry than any individual ever.
  • His accomplishments have done more toward abating climate change than anyone on the planet.
  • Further, he has done more to reduce the cost of space travel than any individual ever, and if not for SpaceX, our ISS space program would currently be at the mercy of Putin and Russia.
  • Musk received death threats to him and his family from the Russian government, who just so happens to actually kill opponents a lot, for providing Ukraine Starlink, which has been pivotal and vital toward Ukraine's ability to communicate and mount an effective defense.  If not for Starlink, Ukraine's communication infrastructure would be non-existent.  Musk risks his own life on behalf of Ukraine, yet sure, to you he's a moron.

My father worked for Ford his whole life, and my mother gets a Ford pension so I'm not a fan of any other automaker taking market share from Ford, but you call a spade a spade.  Musk is one of the top 5 most important people to come along toward the advancement of our species in decades.

The way you disregard the things he has done, likely out of myopic partisanship owed to his dabblings with Twitter is another mind boggling example of how sad our species is at grappling with tribalism and confirmation bias.
