|7 hours 55 min ago||Nah, if playing like puke||
for 57 minutes didn't embarrass the guys, then why worry about a monotonous drive with the ball just shoved down your throat.
35-11 isn't running up the score; utter ineptitude on O and a porous DL were the insult.
|8 hours 2 min ago||Should've played Wilton||
No reason other than he has a great name.
"He' not Wilton under pressure,"
|8 hours 17 min ago||The new HC is walking into a||
roster with talent, experience and maturity. The D loses Taylor, Clark and JMFR - but gains Peppers, Taco and Gedeon in their place. That's manageable if the DL gets more powerful in the offseason (they were pushed all over today). Mone, Glasgow, Henry, Wormley all have 2+ years.
The O loses DG and likely Funchess - gains Drake, Mo, Bunting, Isaac. QB is a black hole.
Simply need a coach who can shape a competent O and create ore edge on D.
Optimistic about a turnaround with the right leader.
|8 hours 37 min ago||Utter incompetence||
Wrong feed? Sure, while the telecast has 3 angles that show a drop.
If the feed were wrong, WHAT INTERCEPTION DID THE BOOTH SEE TO DECIDE AN INT PROBABLY HAPPENED?
|8 hours 47 min ago||Clearly three pieces were||
extremely problematic today: 1) OL is awful - 3 years of utter futility, 2) WRs - just apathetic & sloppy, 3) QB - uh, baffling decisions and poor throws. Everything else is just problematic.
Something is wrong with the program. It's not just Hoke; he's accountable but not the sole issue. Nuss' O was awful and I guarantee that he didn't forget how to coach from Bama last year and this year. GMatt has a D that cannot generate TOs or attack the LOS. RR failed at UM, yet he won at WV and Ariz.
My guess is simply the overall culture of the AD doesn't create a sense of urgency to win, and win only. Guys were smiling on the sidelines and little anger/frustration. Perhaps the next coach has to pull scholarships to raise the players' urgency and he certainly must hire a S&C coach that creates high intensity because he spends more time with the players than any coach.
|11 hours 14 min ago||It's baffling.||
It he jitters in the pocket from 2ys of pounding are understandable. But what in the world goes thru his head on certain plays is totally baffling.
He's smart, talented and tough. Then he does random, destructive things. I cannot recall any QB with so much variation.
|11 hours 26 min ago||My Saturday afternoons for||
projects and other activities. No need to watch - this team will ruin your eyes if you watch too long. Dreadful.
|12 hours 19 min ago||End of 1st half||
Utah - FG to end the half
Prevent D isn't very preventative.
|12 hours 30 min ago||Just physically whipped||
Multiple choice time:
Answer and discuss amongst yourselves.
|12 hours 40 min ago||The last drive is massively||
deflating. This O doesn't have the execution or moxie to score twice at this point.
Can only hope something clicks for DG and he has a 2nd half like OSU last year.
|15 hours 45 min ago||Absolutely. Until||
next week and the week after and ...likely has to win out and the team suddenly looks very good.
I cannot wait until my alarm clock goes off tomorrow and I can wake up on Groundhog Day to peruse another thread on this very topic.
|5 days 16 hours ago||Missouri just beat||
Florida 42-13 with only 119 yards of offense (only 20 yds passing). UFs D was stout, the O and ST were awful.
If the UM O can't move the ball to score, then it's time for the D to finally generate TOs. Maybe a couple trick plays (fake punt, etc). That's probably the only scenario that gives UM a chance at an upset.
|1 week 3 days ago||Glad to see he's dealt||
with the issue(s) and returned. Talented,young lineman.
|1 week 5 days ago||The "who" is just as important as||
"how many". For UM it's been a double hit.
Who are the "best" players on Michigan from a likelihood to play in the NFL? A guess in the order: Funchess, Peppers, Ryan, F Clark, Henry, Gardner WR, Wilson, Cole, R Taylor, Butt. So 5 of 10 have been on the field every game and Gardner & Butt have been limited.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||Nice win in the midst of so much||
turmoil. Hoke definitely hasn't lost the team. Too many injuries and inconsistent performance to be a highly competitive team, but the guys played hard. Gardner battled. Needed this one badly.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||Just what the team needed||
His toughness and vocal passion were crucial. D seemed to respond to his admonishment a on the sideline.
Good for him. Go Blue.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||Crowd appeared energized and||
near capacity. Looked good on TV. Not quite UTL I or II but good showing under the circumstances.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||So many examples of guys||
stepping up. Gardner battled. D played hard and disciplined in the 2nd half.
|2 weeks 7 hours ago||Nuss called a good game with||
extremely limited capabilities. O is decimated without Green, K a Hill, Magnuson injuries - let alone Gardner and Funchess hobbling.
Mattison put guys into a few key blitzes that changed the game.
Special teams were very good (other than Clark's stupidity on the 1st onside) and the guys played with energy.
Hoke should get a lot of credit for not losing the team.
|2 weeks 7 hours ago||Good to get a win||
Why do we have so many starters injured - Gardner, Peppers, Morgan, Magnuson, Henry, Green, D Hill?
Plus guys like Harris, Pipkins and K Hill who should contribute. Funchess, Butt and Taylor have been limited.
Sure guys get injured, but so many key guys and it's either S&C or bad luck.
|2 weeks 7 hours ago||PSU must be weak if||
this D holds them in check. Jake and Bolden actually closed the gap quickly.
Just need a drive from the O to win it.
|2 weeks 7 hours ago||3rd and 2||
Hackenberg just plows for 2.5 - another example of a soft DL.
Really need to question Wellman and his program. This team is soft and slow at the point of attack and on the edges. S&C is not maximizing the raw talent.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||Now is the usual setting for||
the D to allow a long drive to surrender the lead. Can the guys reverse the tendency?
How about a turnover?
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||So Bama has gone 10 yrs||
without a QB missing a game. We cannot go 2 games without a QB injury.
Gardner, Funchess, Peppers, Green - top 4 playmakers are injured. Magnuson, K Hill, D Hill - starters out. Butt, Pipkins, Ryan - recovering from ACL. Morris - messed up.
7 down, 4 suboptimal. This roster is depleted. Perhaps Wellman didn't get the team physically ready for the season.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||6 guys to tackle the TE?||
Sometimes, it's just a mystery to decipher where the physical Michigan D went.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||He was hobbling at||
Rutgers and putting no weight on one leg. My grandma would've beat him in a 40. Completely deflated my son who was excited to see him play live - and I knew he was weeks away from playing.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||Time for someone to||
step up and make a play. Something to change the momentum. The real issue is "who is capable"?
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||So Darboh cannot make a simple catch when||
it matters? These are the "execution" issues that kill a team. Not sure what skill and additional work the kids complete during the week, but these guys do not have the talent or intensity to win with the repeated mistakes.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||So, why can the team||
generate no turnovers?
I suspect the guys on the field are just not athletic enough. We have 2 NFL guys on the D (Jake and Willie) and the secondary is weak without Jabrill.
|2 weeks 9 hours ago||Perhaps the most salient suggestion||
The high frequency of high ankle sprains is indicative of poor conditioning. The lines get no push - indicative of strength/power issues. The "tired" legs of the defense - indicative of poor conditioning. Trust the eye test of this team's size and muscular development - indicative of poor conditioning.
Wellman just hasn't delivered a physically refined team.
