13 weeks 4 days ago	There is no Sioux	There is no "Sioux" tribe. They refer to themselves as the Lakota. "Sioux" is a derogatory term used by enemy tribes, such as the Crow. This is why North Dakota has had an issue. If they were the Fighting Lakota, I don't think the tribes woud mind.
13 weeks 4 days ago	I understand what you're getting at	I know you can play defense without taking a charge, and the thought of someone trying to take a charge in a pick up game is comical. However, I would argue that in general pick up games are garbage basketball, and good defensive rotation is fun to watch if executed properly. I just think if you take the call out, offensive players will take advantage, and they already get all the advantages anyway. I think (B1G road games aside) that officials do get it right more than wrong, and I guess I don't see it as a huge problem.
13 weeks 4 days ago	Agree to disagree then	To me personally, it seems like if you eliminate the charge call, you will get more car crashes in the lane than less - offensive players will just get a full head of steam and head to the rim. If you're athletic enough, that play would be a slam dunk - pun intended.
13 weeks 4 days ago	I agree	I agree that the rule is abused, but your proposed solution to eliminate the call all together would make things worse. The way you stated it, if you were a defender, and an offensive player comes straight at you, you would have to move out of the way to avoid a foul. I don't see how this would work  . . . perhaps you can elaborate?
13 weeks 4 days ago	I don't know man	If any current charge/block were to become an automatic block, all an offensive player would have to do is dribble straight into the nearest defender and throw the ball up at conact in a manner that mildy resembles a shot to draw free throws on every possession. Something tells me that would be quite a bit worse for the game than a charge call.
15 weeks 5 days ago	GRIII	For all the reasons the OP mentioned.  I think THJ has elevated his overall game imensely this year and could be a solid contributer at the next level. Trey - could be a star if he can improve his defense, which may be somewhat limited given his height. The wildcard here - Stauskas. The guy could be Mike Miller ++ if he's on a team with an all-star or two, he could absolutely thrive on the open looks.  How nuts is it that we could have something like 3-6 future NBA players on this team?
