My first thought after seeing this thread title was "oh, is that tonight?"

all-SEC national championship games are such a drag.  I know, it's going to keep happening until somebody beats them...

You’re really watching?  Even apart from Michigan not making it, I have no interest in this SEC rematch. I didn’t watch the 2018 game either (or whatever season that was with GA-BAMA)

Just watching both teams on the first drive of this game makes me even further realize how much Harbs and co were outcoached.  Sorry, but it's true, bring on the downvotes I reckon.

Do you see the speed and size on UGA’s D? The few chances we had, like the swing to HH, it was batted down. Not sure what we could have done more? Short of 4 verts at least once a drive, I’m not sure what else.

Defensively, yes, I was not the biggest fan of our game plan. Too much thinking for Colson, too much 1-1 for Gray, no interior pressure

What are you talking about?!  When you have converted high school WR/CB playing linebacker in this game it just shows you the athletisicsm difference between us and the guys down South.  Bottom line is we need to improve the talent on the field to compete at this level.....stop coping out and blaming the coaches.

If by out-coached you mean K Smart telling his once in a generation 5* defense to play “their game” and have his offense not make mistakes, then you’re right on point.

Sorry but no amount of trick plays were going to hit home against that defense and our D was always going to have trouble against an accurate, semi-mobile qb backed up by a great run game.

Meh,

They schemed and scouted our defense well, but it all stemmed from our inability to sustain any drives or momentum on offense.

The margin of error against their defense was so low that any mistake we made on offense and put us behind the sticks was catastrophic.  They have so much size, speed and talent at every level of that defense - NFL players at every position.  Sorry, but even the best scheme with perfect execution would only keep us in that game...and that's a lot to ask of any team.

We need more elite talent to raise our margin of error in general, and especially when playing elite teams.

We would have had to play a mistake-free, A+++ game in order to beat a team with that big of a talent advantage over us. That's doable against Ohio State, which is a bitter rival that we prepare for all year. But not against a team that we don't even know we're going to play until a month before we play them.

Ohio State didn't have nearly the talent advantage Georgia did. That was a bit of a shock to me last week--I'm used to thinking of OSU as an elite-level team, but the gap between their linebackers and Georgia's was enormous. Both lines, too.

I don't think mistake-free, A+++ comes close to getting it done. We'd get a schematic plus--Corum in space with their MLB chasing, for example--and Dean would run him down. If even that doesn't get you anything, what would?

All about matchups, not just talent.

We matched up really well against OSUs soft run defense.

MacDonald also put together a great plan for OSUs passing game and made them totally 1 dimensional, earning every yard the hard way through the air.

UGA was a terrible matchup. They were basically UM on steroids.  Just a better, more talented version of our team.

Stetson Bennett should be more certain of himself at this point in the season. It looked like he was in the first game of the year.

Funny (but, not funny) I was just mentioning to a business partner that 2022 should be a great year unless Putin invades Ukraine and/or China crosses the straight and invades Taiwan.   If you know a way to protect a portfolio against that kind of geopolitical risk please share your secret with your blog compadres.
