Brian Kelly went to LSU so he could be himself??

This intro made me tear up a…

This intro made me tear up a little...could it be something?

I would watch Sportscenter…

I would watch Sportscenter if it was still highlights. It is just sad how the core business died there.

Ok I am not reacting to this…

Ok I am not reacting to this exit specifically, but in general I feel like this program is in shambles. I barely come back to this site anymore because there is literally nothing good to see here. The reason being nothing to do with the board, but with the program. It makes me utterly sad to my core because as a former student manager who poured his heart and soul into Michigan Football I feel helpless and empty.

Nothing about Michigan…

Nothing about Michigan football excites me anymore.

The reality is that…

The reality is that McCaffery never had a chance here like anyone we put behind center because we lack any coherent identity and consistency. You could put Tom Brady back there and we would still look like shit. Harbaugh is a dead man walking. If he makes it to game 6 I'll be shocked. This is just a wait and see to get through the pandemic and start anew for the next coach. Wanted to see Harbaugh succeed as much as the next but he was not able to retain coaches, players or develop top talent. Time for a change. I hope he gets another NFL gig. You could see the look on his face in the presser when he got hired here. He's like, "How long do I have to stay here until leaving for the NFL again without looking bad?" He regretted ruffling feathers in SF and he was sent back to college. No one goes to a Super Bowl, loses, and then says nah I will go back to college. You only go back to college if you can't cut it in the league. His heart has never been here. Anyone with a pulse on this subject knows this.

Transfer party!!!

Transfer party!!!

Haha guys - he is not…

Haha guys - he is not leaving michigan to be closer to home - he just needed an acceptable reason to leave the program. haha you guys crack me up hahahha.

Ya but they respect him and…

Ya but they respect him and believe he will lead them to victory and the NFL. These players are not getting recruited by Saban thinking he is warm and fuzzy. They go to Alabama because without a doubt they will play with the best and compete with the best to prepare them for the league.

After being in Schembechler…

After being in Schembechler hall for two years I can tell you this makes a huge difference. Many of you underestimate the intangibles aspects of the locker room. The culture, attitude, loyalty to Michigan are cornerstones of the program that have been lacking for years. I understand we have to broaden our recruiting pool nationally to get the best talent our nation has to offer, but that comes at a cost to the bedrock of playing for draft position rather than for Michigan. Players like Hutchinson are few and far between because besides many of the walk-ons the players do not have an allegiance to the University because honestly why would they? A lot of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds and just want to better position their families for the future. How can you blame them. The love for Michigan does not burn deep within the locker room. Anyone could have seen that on the field this year. We have to decided as a University what we the future to look like. A united decision and vision must be crafted and accepted. Our university is fragmented. A massive schism confronts like Luther leaving the Roman Catholic Church in medieval times. Who do we want to be? Maybe its not up to us. Maybe college football needs reform. Thoughts?

There is no loyalty to…

There is no loyalty to Michigan. Why would anyone want to stay. They didn't come here to play school.

Hey getting drafted sounds…

Hey getting drafted sounds way better than another year on a miserable team where your stock is only going to drop behind untalented DTs.

Hey I'm also in the 603…

Hey I'm also in the 603 these days. This is not tongue and cheek. Our program is in complete disarray - lack of leadership/coaching whatever you want to call it.

Why would you stay one more…

Why would you stay one more minute in this shit storm of a program. Did any of you watch the absolute lack of anything that resembled a football team this season?

We have a serious problem…

We have a serious problem here. Someone that has power and influence that actually wants Michigan football to succeed needs to step up right now!

People - this is wrong -…

People - this is wrong - leaving after RS Sophomore seasons is ridiculous especially with a short resume. SMH. Michigan Fans  you know why these guys are leaving - it's a sinking ship - jump now or drown.

Sounds like the mid-major…

Sounds like the mid-major approach like in college basketball where you have a team that can make a run every 4 years...something to get super excited about...nottttt.

Hutchinson and Paye seem…

Hutchinson and Paye seem like pretty good Big Ten DEs in a vacuum, but watching the tape leaves something to be desired. They are not Brandon Graham good. He was a true game changer. I don't think Hutchinson coming back will make much of a difference for our mediocre defense.

People here love to still…

People here love to still talk about Braylon like he was catching touchdowns last week smh

Yes I agree on that point…

Yes I agree on that point. More saying that Mattison obviously knew his worth and Michigan did not.

Not weird at all. We have…

Not weird at all. We have had many starters transfer. Aubrey Solomon, Devin Asiasi, etc. The list goes on (being closer to home is just an excuse - you guys are so naive). When Greg Mattison left to go to OSU you should have had your eyes wide open. You just don't do that unless something is totally rotten in Camelot.

I agree with you. I grew up…

I agree with you. I grew up an NFL fan before going to Michigan. College football appealed to me because of the passion of the fans. Little did I know that structurally FBS football was broken. I am hoping that the result of the utter chaos this year will cause dramatic change on many fronts:

  • Legitimizing pay for athletes (or creating a 6 team semi-pro league (age 18-21) called "NFL Prep"
  • Increasing competition across the FBS level
  • Unifying the conferences in a single mandate
  • Creating a real playoff tournament (like the 24 team FCS playoff which is great) and get rid of bowl games
  • Any other enhancements that make college football more watchable and gives teams hope
Thank god someone else sees…

Thank god someone else sees what I see! I cannot believe more people on here can't see this. Thank you!

You're one of those ride or…

You're one of those ride or dies for this coaching staff until the end I am guessing. Completely delusional.

I'll take the McCaffery…

I'll take the McCaffery family history over this Michigan coaching staff's track record with player development and retention.

College coaches like to…

College coaches like to solve issues in house - they don't like the media. Get over it. This one ended up getting out of the corral.

Just like Harbaugh hasn't…

Just like Harbaugh hasn't pulled it together...

Everyone is talking about QB…

Everyone is talking about QB play. Can we just run the ball and stop the run like any other fundamentally sound team first? Our line play is not that great.

I propose a 6 team "NFL Prep…

I propose a 6 team "NFL Prep" league for top recruits 18-21 years old that can get paid. They play each other twice a year with three rounds of playoffs. That will skim the cream off the top and bring more parity to college football.

Can he help us beat OSU?…

Can he help us beat OSU? That's all that matters. We haven't been competitive with them since I was a Freshman 13 years ago...

We must be desperate if we…

We must be desperate if we have had three separate posts about a RT in the last 24 hours.

That's exactly the reason we…

That's exactly the reason we don't win. We lack a commitment collectively of leaving the program better than when we left it. We have players that are on a 3 year and out mentality - that's fine if we have 4 and 5 stars like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and OSU but we don't. We need to balance our talented recruits with ones who are committed to the bedrock of our program like the Glasgow brothers. Our teams lack a passion to represent the University collectively. I worked for the team for two years during the rich rod years - I saw the infighting firsthand and lack of unity. You and the rest of the fans here can stay delusional in whatever world you live in, but we will continue to toil in this mediocrity where we play second fiddle to the elite programs. If you are fine being a team that is ranked 10-25 every year than I am happy for you. Then we should go back to regional football and stop recruiting outside the Big Ten footprint.

Commitment?

Commitment?

Truth

Truth

Thank them for what? For…

Thank them for what? For leaving early? Good riddance. Those who stay will be champions.

Whatever

Whatever

We should be worried about…

We should be worried about these types of transfers. This is a bad sign for our program. People won't be happy to read this, but we should not be having top talent transfer. The Aubrey Solomon transfer epitomized this trend. That crushed us. I am surprised more people on this site don't focus on how detrimental our transfers have been to this program. We will not be beating OSU with 10-12 seniors of middling quality. I rather have 20-25 seniors every year. That either has to come from who we recruit or a coaching staff that can develop and retain.

The problem is that these…

The problem is that these universities are sucking in all these kids with their non-refundable tuition deposits before going online. Total bait and switch. It is disgusting. If I was still at school I would be so pissed.

I don't think you can get…

I don't think you can get the virus from eating ass. Safer than kissing.

If there was a war on…

If there was a war on domestic soil they would still be playing. This thread has been awesome.

No way! I don't believe it…

No way! I don't believe it haha.

Positives is we get delay…

Positives is we get delay/cancel another beatdown by OSU

Let the kids transfer

Let the kids transfer

They can hire an agent and…

They can hire an agent and get floated financially before the draft - can work out with professional trainers before the draft and most importantly NOT DO school!

Good night nurse.

Good night nurse.

It will be very interesting…

It will be very interesting to see what will happen to these Universities. I feel like many people have been duped into getting the kids back to school and now have all these high priced tuitions lock in. It's a racket really and the schools should be held responsible.

Step off the ledge my friend…

Step off the ledge my friend. Every day from the first day we have learned about this virus the knowledge and resources have been compounding in our favor. It may seem doom and gloom right now, but humanity has gone through much worse and still has reached new heights that could never be imagined.

The reason everyone is upset…

The reason everyone is upset is that B1G announced it before the southern conferences. Just wait a couple weeks. They will cancel too and all these parents will shut their damn yappers.

We need to start recruiting…

We need to start recruiting players that we can develop into 4 and 5 year players even if they are 3 stars I don't care. It works well for Wisconsin. There are only so many elite 4 and 5 star guys that we mostly miss out on anyways. Let's just go back to basics and get regional.

Probably would have opted…

Probably would have opted out regardless - his stock was high.Kids don't come to Michigan anymore for Michigan; just use it to get to the next level.
