This is interesting given that "Varsity Maize" was our pre-Adidas Nike colorway, whereas now we have "Amarillo." Varsity Maize / Midnight Navy is my favorite colorway combo. The Game Royal hue pushes it a little too close to Cal for my liking, but still looks great.
Yes! This is a very important clarification. So much so that it got me off my lurker perch. It will be especially important when we're talking about 5* 2030 MI QB Mighty Jack The Quarterback Harbaugh.
I rarely post anymore, but this thread falls right in to my wheelhouse and I figured I'd share what I just learned from DirectTV...
I live in Los Angeles and subscribe to DirecTV (including every imaginable sports package). My program guide shows the following for Saturday at 8:00pm Eastern / 5:00pm Pacific:
Ch. 7 (ABC) - "College Football"
Ch. 396 (ABC East) - "Michigan @ Connecticut"
Ch. 397 (ABC West) - "College Football"
I just spoke with a supervisor (after the customer service rep I spoke with kept telling me the game was on the 24th!), and he was definitive in telling me that the Michigan @ Connecticut game WILL BE TELEVISED on ABC 7 (DirecTV) in Los Angeles. He also said it would NOT be a part of the Gameplan package. I pressed him hard and asked the question about 10 different ways. I even told him that I doubted the information he was providing since the guide specifically lists Michigan on channel 396 (East Coast) and lists a generic "College Football" on channel 397 (West Coast). I asked, "Why wouldn't it just show up on both?" He did not waver, saying: "Despite what the guide may show right now, I am looking at the scheduled programming for your region [i.e. Los Angeles, CA] and you can be 100% certain that you will receive this game."
Ever the pessimist, I still have my doubts... but that was encouraging to hear.
Yes, and the specific colorway is "Varsity Maize." Nike also uses "Goldenrod" for Iowa and "Del Sol" for the LA Lakers.
I too wish to see a return to the swoosh. I like Adidas, but only when it comes to soccer (you know, the 'other' football) gear and accessories. Nike apparel just looked better, IMO, when watching various M teams on the field of play. For better or worse, I will always associate the '97 football team with those Nike uniforms.
It's all about Jim Buss. Beto Duran said on local radio (in LA) this morning that Jerry Buss forced the Brown firing down the throat of Jim, who had a vested interest in keeping him on board (which, duh). Jim Buss took an over-my-dead-body approach to the thought of bringing Phil back--Chris Broussard conformed as much on SportsCenter this AM--and was apparently all-in on D'antoni throughout the weekend.
Beyond that, MY speculation is that Phil was the guy among Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak, but Jim forced the issue elsewhere. Going back a year, it was Jim who completely cleaned house with respect to the Phil Jackson coaching circle, including his decision to eschew Brian Shaw as Phil's successor.
Lastly, the reason Morris is getting a lot of run lately has only a little to do with Nash's absence. Nash being out means Morris is in a backup role, as opposed to getting DNPs as a third string. Steve Blake is awful, but his wonky abdomen (ultrasound scheduled for today) is the reason for D Mo's ascension.
I may be late to the party here, but when did Crisler Arena morph in to the Crisler "Center"? (or maybe it didn't?) I started seeing Bacari Alexander reference it as "Crisler Center" in some of his recent tweets and sort of cringed, but perhaps I just missed the boat. Can someone please clear this up for me?
Interesting. I'm watching the WVU/South Florida game and was reminded of the rumor that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU.

<br>This is the first time I've heard the rumor that ZACH BOREN IS HAVING A LOVE AFFAIR WITH A PRE-OP TRANSEXUAL.
Maybe the OP is pointing towards that 2-play sequence where Denard steps in to a nice third and long pass, converts it, and is then replaced on 1st down by Devin, who arm-punts it.
I'm with you. Also, he's not hiring an agent...so it's probably [gulp, fingers crossed] just a matter of him doing some due-diligence--the old "testing the waters."
[EDIT: whoops..meant to reply to Yesman (above). Sorry]
I actually bought a Cleveland Browns jersey when Braylon was drafted. [shaking head] I still have it, but keep it hidden in the back of my closet with my Russell Martin (random, I know) Dodgers jersey.
I enjoyed...

<br>"Glad this game was on truTV because this truly was reality. Aside from bad refs we had no desire, played no D, have no shooters along with a couple wannabes that don't deserve a scholarship. Tobias was the exception"

I don't post anymore, but this makes two in the span of three days. Just can't get enough of these damn searchbits.

See my reply just above--it's "Varsity Maize."

Yup, a futile attempt no doubt, but I was thinking the same thing.
I feel for the bedbugs. They got there first and nobody asked them how they felt about sleeping with unsanitary pests.
...and then ESPN can televise the presentation ceremony and call it the "Yostys"
From the "things you wouldn't have heard me say--let alone think--in 2005 department ": I wish our current gameplan only involved 10 passes a game.
Denard's Legs uber alles.
It's only an allegation that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU

Need a pic for my Lloyd Brady photoshop-desktop-background mural.
I posted this in another thread, but I really hope his son took a dump in Herbie's lap.
Desmond's kids are way cooler. His son looks pissed that he's on Herbstreit's leg. I hope he take a dump in Herbie's lap.
I don't even care that I'm up at 6:30 on my day off. It's like Christmas over here right now.
It looks like a trap.

Jeebus..if that's him he's officially become Waldo. Coach K is probably breaking down the film on Lloyd Brady right now.
