Random on Twitter: Fred Jackson to return
January 1st, 2015 at 5:31 PM ^
God no.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:37 PM ^
Just because Fred Jackson is staying on. doesn't mean he's going to be coaching.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:52 PM ^
I'd say it's been a while since Fred has coached.
January 1st, 2015 at 8:09 PM ^
It may have been awhile since Jackson has "coached," but I still think the reason the backs haven't deveoped is because of David Brandon telling OC's to play MANBALL to a point where everything was predictable. You have to consider the possibility that the S&C program may be slowing guys down a bit, after a year or two, also.
I know: Occam's razor would dicate that underachieving backs are Jackson's fault. However, I am ready to trust Harbaugh's judgment. If he decides to keep Jackson, it is because he sees Jackson as an asset.

it's just a mistake in the payroll dept. Fix the glitch and it will work itself out.

to the basement.

Maybe the comment was staying IN Michigan as opposed to AT Michigan.
January 1st, 2015 at 7:17 PM ^
This man has nine lives.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:58 PM ^
Harbaugh is going to hire him and let him announce his retirement. This way he retires on his own terms and is not let go. Ya, that must be it. Classy guy that Harbaugh.

I don't understand your concern. Fred Jackson is like Vince Lombardi but has more moxy, and like Bill Bellichick but is more cunning.
January 1st, 2015 at 7:11 PM ^
he will reside there permanently.
January 1st, 2015 at 8:09 PM ^
would survive a nuclear holocaust
January 1st, 2015 at 7:33 PM ^
Even with his age, Fred Jackson is like Wheatley but faster.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:31 PM ^
In 10,000 years there will be cockroaches . . . and Fred Jackson.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:38 PM ^
Well, like cockroaches, only better-smelling and more resilient.
January 1st, 2015 at 7:49 PM ^
And Fred will tell us how this is the best class of cockroaches he has seen and how fast they are in hitting the open holes.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:34 PM ^
Eh, I think it's time to move on with someone else. Fred did great things for Michigan, but I just think they need to get someone else.
January 1st, 2015 at 6:20 PM ^
Really? You and literally everyone else here...

Just goes to show if you're always to work on time, it'll pay off!

Sounds completely reliable.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:39 PM ^
I can't ask a question against the boards wishes. I don't approve of this move. But, I was simply asking if anyone else heard of this from anywhere else.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:41 PM ^
I'll believe it when it comes from a more reliable source... like Gil Brandt.

If landing JMFH was my #1 wish then getting rid of Fred Jackson was #2. Fuck.

Good ol' James Michael Frederick Harbaugh.

How does this guy survive all our coaching turnover? Seriously, he's produced nothing since Hart was here.
Hopefully Harbaugh knows or sees something in him that we all don't.

Thankfully, this is in fact the case. Harbaugh knows and sees many things that pertain to football that mgoblog posters do not.

you are 100% correct but the "experts" on this blog who for the most part have never played nor coached a down of football in their lives aren't interested in hearing it.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:36 PM ^
I don't get it. He hasn't developed a great back since Mike Hart.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
develop Hart? He was starting after 3 games, how much coaching could Jackson have given him up to that point?
January 1st, 2015 at 5:36 PM ^
Why? Seriously, why? What is the upside at this point? Can we shed the past and start anew?

I know it's a cliche, but I am going to trust JJH on these selections.

I've heard from a great source that Harbaugh has not talked to Jackson yet. I don't think he's going to stick, especially with Wheatley seemingly there for the taking.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:39 PM ^
Thanks for the clarification. Jackson needs to be put out to pasture.
January 1st, 2015 at 5:40 PM ^
Wheatley may not want to come as he doesn't see himself as a good fit for Harbaugh's style.
January 1st, 2015 at 6:42 PM ^
Who's that, Sal? Is this in a thread someplace? Someone who actually knows shit?
January 1st, 2015 at 5:41 PM ^
Good to here.

The one thing is Harbaugh will look at who's best at the job and not loyalty to the program. Maybe he sees something in Jackson that we don't.
