TomVH RB Bri'onte Dunn's father said they haven't talked about the Ohio State situation yet. They'll sit down and talk about everything soon.

TomVH Dunn's father said they also want to see what sanctions come down from the NCAA, bowl ban is a big deal to Bri'onte.

But there's no limits to how many characters you can enter into your forum topic post.  There's also no limits to the amount of actual information that you can contribute in your own post.

As for the actual topic, I think Dunn becomes second priority right now.  Fickell and the shambles of the staff have to do damage control with the team itself at this point, and keeping on the recruits is another story.  We'll see.

Point taken. The thought was that it was a question that would soon be on everyone's mind. A place to discuss this, instead of buried somewhere on page 6 of the Tressel Resigns thread. Of course TomVH came through with some info, and I've adjusted accordingly.

as a replacement. Dunn would fit right in with Mark D's offense.  Lets hold off on thinking Dunn's ours though it is an enjoyable thought.  The bigger question should be do any of the Tat5 join the supplemental draft if the NFL and players get a new CBA done?

what is osu going to tell recruits?  In our CC, they at least got Hoke in with time to salvage most of the class.  Granted, we did lose some big names, but the class didnt fall apart.  What are they going to tell kids?  Choose us, even thought we dont know who your coach is going to be?  Now, they will most likely have a new coach before NSD, but by that time, will the players still want to go there?  That is a long way off.

i don't see Ohio going away from pro-style offense. Ohio will sell its program and tradition, and reaffirm to recruits that they will play same style of football.

recruits<finding right coach to fit program<ncaa sanctions

it's definitely going to give MSU some negative recruiting mojo in luring current Ohio commits.

247 just posted a story about OSU commit reactions and they all seem shocked. As it pertains to Dunn, he will be taking visits but is going to stay committed until at least August, presumably to see how NCAA hearings go.

what if the sanctions are very severe? could there be another smu where players are allowed to transfer without penalty? what happens with curtis and doran grant, who havnt accually gone to the school yet, or braxton miller? could coaches be allowed to reopen recruitment on these incoming freshmen? what if they transfer and have to sit out a year per ncaa rules, and then they just wouldnt have to redshirt?  i know we have to see what accually develops but you cant blame a guy for thinking ahead to disassemble the program. obtw, for all the osu fans that say tressel made "one" mistake because he was trying to protect players, is like saying al capone only forgot to file taxes

in the current u$c situation are for seniors only. All other outgoing transfers need to sit a year. I have to think with the whole country already talking about who's going to replace the interim that these recruits staring down a double coaching change in the next year are thinking twice.

I have to think that Tressell getting fired is going to weigh heavily with Bri'onte.  I think this alone might get him to flip, though a bowl ban would seal the deal.  I interpret this to mean that he'll be waiting to see the NCAA verdict before he makes any public decision regarding his commitment status, though.

The staff needs to put the full court press on Dunn now that the Vest is gone.  IMO he is the most important recruit left on our board because we need a clear-cut #1 back who is a difference maker and can take some pressure off Denard.  Either that or we get Keith Marshall but I don't see that happening.

his potential impact as a true freshman during Denard's senior campaign next year would be minimal. Denard improving his throwing mechanics and improving his touch on passes would greatly reduce the pressure.

I'm hoping Thomas Rawls flashes some brilliance and feature back potential. It would also hopefully inspire Aaron Burbridge to fully focus on his academics in order to become a Wolverine.

This year Luke Fickell is staying on as the coach. So your talking a full year away from knowing who the coach is going to be. They will loose kids. Hopefully we get the ones we want

How about those two recruits that were interested in osu the ones that were a package deal. I forgot their names. I hope this helps big time

Dunn has stated that he doesn't care who the coach is, he cares moreso if there are bowl bans. Wait until August to think about swooping in and grabbing Dunn. The 2 I think this really helps us with are Stanford and Washington.

With Tressel stepping down, that will concern these kids because the Vest was such a calm stabilizing force.  If this Dohrmann piece coming out does the same thing to OSU football that it did to Minnesota hoops, or worse, then the whole state opens up to us.

We might have more of a chance at these OSU leans or commits than we accounted for months ago, so we might want to be a bit more selective on handing out or accepting scholies.  If Hoke can get the best of Michigan and Ohio, this could get scary for the rest of the conference real quickly.

I can't imagine how TSIO can effectively recruit for this year.  I mean how can you lure a kid who doesn't even know who his head coach (or even assisstants) will be for their college career? Gotta catch em all!

I would watch out for someone else snaking in there (Saban, et al) now that tOSU is drowning.  The others probably figured he was a lost cause and haven't hit him hard, yet.  Just something to watch out for.   I do believe he would come to AA if he canned OSU, but with all the snake oil salesman out there, you never know.
