I've always maintained that the sanctions wouldn't inhibit their recruiting. It's one game a year they don't get to play in. USC is a high-profile enough program that these kids will get just as many looks from fans and NFL scouts whether they play 12 games or 13. It's really a non-factor in terms of recruiting. USC might take somewhat of a hit in the revenue department for a couple years, but that loss doesn't filter down to the players. |

Unless the kids have openly protested the decision of the school/coaches/parents, one can assume they are on board with it. Kids protest decisions of their schools all the time. You often here about it in the context of schools dances, and certain things being prohibited at such dances. Baseball is just an extracurricular school-sponsored activity like a school dance, which makes the comparison appropriate. |

For those of you hiding behind freedom of religion/speech/expression, you need to understand that there's nothing about any of those concepts that prohibits your fellow citizen from expressing THEIR view that YOUR view makes you an asshole...and that's what these kids are...a bunch of little assholes. Should they be legally forced to play a baseball game they don't want to play in because it conflicts with their made up belief system? Absolutely not. Should they expect and accept that they're going to open themselves up to legitimate criticism when they all get sand in their vaginas over the fact that a girl wants to play baseball too? You bet they should. |

I've accepted the fact that whatever "throwbacks" Adidas comes up with are going to be just terrible. All we can do is wait out the current contract that expires after the 2015 season and try to get Brandon to switch back to Nike at that time. Nike's stuff looks better, feels better, is better quality, and players, recruits and fans tend to favor it over Adidas by a wide margin. |
