UConn is turrible. At one point Towson was outgaining UConn 112-5.
Opponent Watch: UConn blown out by FCS Towson, 33-18
Their offense is just horrible horrible horrible. D was top 10 nationally last year, but lost some to the draft.
It's a trap, don't fall for it.
It is a TRAP! Remember what ESPN's expert analysis said? http://insider.espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9528915/michigan-wolverines-college-football-power-rankings-espn-magazine UConn is going to win by 3!!!
UConn has accumulated 224 yards of offense on 41 plays, good for 5.26 yards per play. It's only slightly less in both cases when compared to Towson yet the Huskies are losing by 9 points. The Huskies rushing game is working at a swift 2.8 YPC too.
Towson TD. 26-10 with 5:14....wow this UConn team blows
As a Towson alum I can tell you we actually have a pretty good football team this year. Still, it's a bad sign for UConn's season that we are now up 26-10.
Im a stony brook alum and we play u guys on the 28th of september.
who you calling you guys??
Looking to move to Towson in a couple months. Any advice? Any thoughts on the palisades or promenade? Real new apt complexes I believe.
I have some friends who live in the Palisades and they love it. It's beautiful and has a lot of great amenities.
MgoTowsonAlums unite! Fight on Towson Tigers!
Only time I've ever seen a Towson sporting event, it was to see Towson bludgoning M Lax in Philadelphia in I think Michigan's 2nd ever scrimmage as a varsity team. Lost 15-2 or something like that. Thus ends my experiences with Towson
I remember watching the "Jewish Jordan" play basketball there. I think they played at Michigan actually when he was on the team.
I'm a senior at Towson now!
Very cool...hope you're enjoying it as much as I did.
Central is our second toughest non-con opponent.
I'd like to thank Bill Martin for scheduling Uconn for the rededication game and making it a home and home. Excellent scheduling.
But I still don't understand why Uconn wouldn't want a night game under the lights in a NFL stadium. That's the kind of publicity you want for a somewhat stuck football program. This game should be being played in Foxburough or NY.
I thought the state of CT put some money into the stadium renovations and wanted to keep everything in state. I could be wrong though.
Just a brutal scheduling move by Bill Martin, no matter which way you slice it.
I'm guessing that's moot when you want your biggest home game (ever?) to be in your home stadium. Kind of like in the 90's when we played Boston College in Chestnut Hill even though it was a 26,000 seat stadium. They wanted us on their campus stadium.
Then again, I don't think UConn's stadium is in Storrs... or is it?
Rentschler Filed is in East Hartford and is 20.8 miles from campus according to google maps.
No, it's like 30 min away (East Hartford.)
A solid half hour from UConn's campus
Wish I could remember which preseason prediction I read that had Michigan losing to UConn. Hard to keep track when you read a hundred different ones. But someone deserves to be mocked!
Other scores- indiana leading Indiana State 66-28 in the 3rd, minnesota up 44-23 with less than 3 in the 4th.
I'm actually somewhat concerned about Indiana. They just scored their 73 point, albeit its against Indiana State.
They allowed 35 points by Indiana State.
They played ther 6th string rb, 8 different wide recievers. Plus true freshman off the practice squad
Giving up 30 to Indiana state as well.
I wouldn't be too worried, though it does give hope that Indiana will reach the postseason. ISU is an FCS team and not a good one at that.
Doesn't this just look like a guy that would lose to Towson ?
I think their starting QB went our for the season. That can't help much.
Excellent. Maybe this will make tickets cheaper for the game as any smart UConn fan will be selling their tickets in for the game in three weeks.
UConn is already adding a couple thousand seats just to accommodate Michigan fans regardless.
I bought two on Stubhub a while back... Still waiting to actually get them. But paid 120 for the UM section.
Still waiting to see any pop up on any site or even the spreadsheet for PSU.
Is UM still waiting to send out tix to the away games??? Only explanation in why none are available yet... Right?
Getting anxious on PSU tix and I have zero interest in sitting anywhere but UM sections.
Hold the phone.....UConn scores a TD and gets the 2pt conversion. Down 26-18 with 3:29 left....
WOW! Uconn fumbles a punt with 3:04 remaining GAME OVER!!!
Now THAT folks is what you call lying in the weeds. Spart's got nothing on these guys. They're willing to throw games just to lull us into a state of complacency.
Honestly pasqualoni shoulda never been hired in the first place
Also tonight Akron lost 38-7 to UCF in Florida. Akron gave up 486 yards of offense while only gaining 250 yards on 10 drives themselves.
After tonight it looks like the non-conference games (outside ND) should be pretty poor this season.
As long as we win I am perfectly fine.
Wow. Horrible by UConn.
Your schadenfreude early leader.
Some fine material here
SU fan here
Not allowed to play in basektball tournements or win football games. Tough time for UCONN folks.
Ive been watching uconn football since 04 buti dont think there offense has ever been that bad. If they start out 0-3 it wouldnt suprise me if pasquoloni is fired before the michiga game
I'd say that would be unlikely.
Have we played a worse non-conference opponent on the road?
Cheapest way to get uconn-michigan tickets is to buy uconn season tickets. No joke
I live in CT now and bought the 3 game mini pack that includes the Michigan game and 2 others of my choice (I picked the towson and louisville games) and the package was the same price as most of the single game tix on stubhub. Great deal if you live in the area.
That I still want them to join the B1G ?
Losing to a D1-AA team is a good start, but they'll need to pad their record with a few losses to the MAC before they'll qualify.
Fuck ya!!! Tmrw is an off day and I am pumped for M football
Akron and UConn might see lots of people get playing time. The only catch with UConn is it's away so they can only take so many players.
Don't let all this trash talk be a jinx
Very yakety sax. 3 turnovers in the last few plays. Rutgers has the ball again with 7:30 left, down 35-31 and trying to regain a lead.
Fresno State's qb stats. He threw it 74 times? Almost 500 yards through the air? Rifuckindiculous!
RU has a bunch of NFL players on their roster and they still blow.
I forgot who it was, some media outlet predicted we would have 6 or 7 losses including UCONN....does anyone remember who that was?
Same thing I was trying to recall. I thought whoever it was had us going 7-5, but I might be wrong. In any case, yeah, one of those losses was @UConn. Not looking like a smart pick at the moment.
that UConn is not the only team to loose humiliatingly to a 1-AA school in a home opener. They may not be quite as bad as they showed in their first game.
The only thing more humiliating than that is losing to the team that lost to a 1-A opponent at home. I like to bring this up when Spartan fans bring up Appalachian State.
This is in no way an excuse for UConn, which looks abysmal, but Towson has been a decent FCS team for a couple of years now. They gave LSU a good game last year, and seem capable of putting up a good showing against an outfit with UConn. Blowing them out this way, of course, wasn't really expected.
Unrelated but a fun game last nite btw Ole Miss and Vandy. True freshman Treadwell had 9 catches for 81 yards. I know I know - he is fishy with the twitter pic of the money but who wouldnt want Treadwell lining up across from Gallon right now from a purely physical standpoint. Bummer how that one went down.
Football Outsiders had us going 4-8 this season with a loss to UCONN by 5. If it wasn't laughable then, it is now.
Must be why they are outsiders.
A bunch of tickets seem to have been recently released, as there are a lot more tickets, at less expense, on stubhub right now, going for around $90. I think they're all in the temp seats in the end zone.
Well anyone that was worried about playing UConn this year probably just had their fears put to rest. If they lost to an FCS team at home, I can't imagine the kind of beating we can put on them. Especially when this will be essentially a home game.
then the players and coaches have some explaining to do fellas!!!
