who cares? Just win the conference then proceed to kick much ass in the tourney.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:37 AM ^
Anything less than Top-10 is criminal.
How many more top-10 teams does Michigan have to beat in a row to get there? NOBODY has beaten three straight since Florida in the 1987 NCAA Tournament.

Doesnt need a new post, so I'll put it up here.
CBSSports poll has Michigan at 10 and as an added bonus Ohio State is unranked, I like this poll.

We should be at 7
January 26th, 2014 at 2:33 PM ^
Mlive.com has an article about the change in Michigan's RPI and strength of schedule after the last three games. The RPI went from 48 to 13 and the strength of schedule went from 97 to 10.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:36 AM ^
I would guess 15 as a realistic number...
January 26th, 2014 at 12:36 AM ^
My guess is between 11 and 13. Any lower is a crime. Any higher is wishful thinking in my opinion.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:37 AM ^
Twelfth in the polls, first in our hearts.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:03 AM ^
But 9th in the polls.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:39 AM ^
I was thinking eighth originally, but I just can't see them jumping us from 21st to top ten. I'd be completely thrilled to be wrong, though.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:21 AM ^
First in my pants.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:39 AM ^
I would say between 7 and 9. We lost to some REALLY good teams early on. Personally, with that stretch of games, two of which on the road, I believe we should be top 5.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:39 AM ^
Drew Sharp: Unranked.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:42 AM ^
Upvote!
January 26th, 2014 at 1:50 AM ^
The perpetual assclown (Sharp) strikes again!
January 26th, 2014 at 12:39 AM ^
Guys, Dook and Kantukky won, they of course have to rise before we rise so realistically we'll take a backseat to those two and outside the top 10.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
Anything other than 1 is a disappointment.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
I only care where KenPom has us ranked. The AP is same bozos who vote in the football poll, only they put even less thought into it.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:47 AM ^
#8 there, for the record.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:41 AM ^
sparty will be 7th because they had to battle injuries
January 26th, 2014 at 12:42 AM ^
After beating three top ten teams -- two on the road -- and coming within 2 of the top-ranked team, there's no question we belong in the top 10.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:43 AM ^
If we don't jump Ohio State then it will be criminal. We should be 10-12. But in the end who cares really?
January 26th, 2014 at 12:44 AM ^
NUMBER
ZERO
IT'S BETTER THAN 1ST
WE DA BEST
January 26th, 2014 at 1:13 AM ^
A la Zack MF Novak.

This "classless". Lol.
January 26th, 2014 at 9:16 AM ^
of moment that if they guy plays for your team, you love it. But if he plays for your rival, different story. Say Harris does someting similar in AA in a hypothetical Sparty win in a few weeks, no doubt some M fans cry foul. All part of the rivalry.
I love Nik's confidence (and even his moments of cockiness) because shooters thrive on it. They know the ball is going in, and when it doesn't, the know the next one is going in, and when it doesn't, they know the next one is going in.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:47 AM ^
It's 12.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:49 AM ^
Nobody cares though. Hope the team gels further and has another run in the big dance.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:50 AM ^
This is a different team than the one that lost to Iowa State, Charlotte, Duke, and Arizona. I'd take U-M against any of those teams on a neutral court right now. We were still finding our way against Arizona and even yet should've won that game. We're only going to get better, too, as chemistry grows and all our first- and second-year players improve. If we stop with the tight stretches at the end of games--look out. We should've beat Wisconsin, Iowa, and MSU by 15 each.
We're as good as anyone right now.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:51 AM ^
Eighth or Ninth.
Go Blue! What a three game stretch. Let's continue it next week, and avoid a let-down, boys!
January 26th, 2014 at 12:51 AM ^
Am I He Who Shall Not Be Named?
January 26th, 2014 at 12:59 AM ^
Should be six to eight.
Somehow, Sparty will be above Michigan.
Asshats at AP.
January 26th, 2014 at 12:59 AM ^
#1 in my heart....
... as always
I don't give a crap about rankings. The only thing that matters is how you do in the tournament come March. The better they play now, the better seed they get but they still have to win 6 in a row.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:13 AM ^
11. They will leave us just out of the top 10 to piss us off.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:18 AM ^
Between 10 & 12. If we held on against Arizona, we'd have a case for being in the top 5.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:20 AM ^
Fuck rankings in basketball, as they are meainingless. It's all about conference wins in this sport.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:43 AM ^
It's important that we not have a let down after this stretch ... A ranking on the lower end might actually be better for focus. In my opinion though there are only probably 5 teams that might be playing better than us in the country.
January 26th, 2014 at 1:44 AM ^
Thankfully, basketball has a tournament where everybody with a realistic chance to be #1 gets to put up or shut up at the end of the season. Bring it on.
January 26th, 2014 at 8:15 AM ^
that last night's game is meaningless to too many people, which is sad....
January 26th, 2014 at 1:48 AM ^
In the B1G. All that counts at this point.
January 26th, 2014 at 2:06 AM ^
I just thought about Zack Novak. Now im sad
January 26th, 2014 at 2:08 AM ^
Lower limit for me is 13, I'd guess we'd be ranked around 11th, but I think we should be ranked about 9.
