MBB Prediction: Where will we be ranked?

Submitted by Cold War on

What kind of ranking do we get after knocking off three top 10 teams in a row?

Anything less than Top-10 is criminal.

How many more top-10 teams does Michigan have to beat in a row to get there? NOBODY has beaten three straight since Florida in the 1987 NCAA Tournament.

I would say between 7 and 9. We lost to some REALLY good teams early on. Personally, with that stretch of games, two of which on the road, I believe we should be top 5.

of moment that if they guy plays for your team, you love it. But if he plays for your rival, different story. Say Harris does someting similar in AA in a hypothetical Sparty win in a few weeks, no doubt some M fans cry foul. All part of the rivalry.

I love Nik's confidence (and even his moments of cockiness) because shooters thrive on it. They know the ball is going in, and when it doesn't, the know the next one is going in, and when it doesn't, they know the next one is going in.

This is a different team than the one that lost to Iowa State, Charlotte, Duke, and Arizona. I'd take U-M against any of those teams on a neutral court right now. We were still finding our way against Arizona and even yet should've won that game. We're only going to get better, too, as chemistry grows and all our first- and second-year players improve. If we stop with the tight stretches at the end of games--look out. We should've beat Wisconsin, Iowa, and MSU by 15 each.

We're as good as anyone right now.

Eighth or Ninth.

Go Blue!  What a three game stretch.  Let's continue it next week, and avoid a let-down, boys!

#1 in my heart....

... as always

I don't give a crap about rankings.  The only thing that matters is how you do in the tournament come March.  The better they play now, the better seed they get but they still have to win 6 in a row.

It's important that we not have a let down after this stretch ... A ranking on the lower end might actually be better for focus. In my opinion though there are only probably 5 teams that might be playing better than us in the country.

Thankfully, basketball has a tournament where everybody with a realistic chance to be #1 gets to put up or shut up at the end of the season.  Bring it on.
