Are amazing. If you hate these uniforms you hate America. And wookies. |
| 4 weeks 4 days ago | Stauskas |
I'm surprised how many people seem to be writing off Stauskas as losing his spot and losing minutes. He played like a talented freshman last year. There is no reason he can't improve over the summer and come back better. With Hardaway and Burke gone Stauskas is the only guy on the roster who has proven he can get his own shot. Maybe Walton and Irvin, but they aren't on the team yet. Defense was definetly his biggest weakness last year, but that is something he can improve. He will be the starter at the 2 next year. |
| 4 weeks 5 days ago | good news |
This also helps our back court depth. With GRIII playing the 3 that most like lt means stauskas/levert/Irvin at the 2 with Irvin also backing up at the 3. Morgan/Horford at the 5 is pretty good, plus Bielfeldt and Donnal in there. |
| 4 weeks 5 days ago | Banking |
There is absolutely no reason to bank scholarships in basketball. If you have a guy who you think can contribute, you bring him in. The kid looks like he could easily get minutes on this team backing up the 4 or 5. Banking a scholarship is wasting minutes. It's not like in football where you go 3-4 deep at every position. Bring this kid in, let him back up for a year, then next (assuming Mcgary and Robinson leave after next year) he can probably get major minutes if he's developed. |
| 5 weeks 1 day ago | Chatham |
I am from Springfield, which is 10 minutes from Chatham. It would be incredible to have a guy from essentially my home town on the team. If he commits, I might have to go do a scouting report when I visit my parents next. Chatham Glenwood is somewhat of a local powerhouse. I can't speak much to the competition level, but they are a great program. |
| 6 weeks 1 day ago | You have enough points |
You can go ahead and make one. I am just reporting what Jalen Rose said. Also, while we love that all those guys will be there, none of them is as polarizing figure as Chris Webber. His possible attendance is a hugely significant event that will have huge reactions on all sides if it happens. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | Irvin |
I feel like he might have the highest ceiling of any recruit Beilein has brought in so far. He has the athleticism of GRIII but seems to have a better offensive game. He has the body that the NBA loves with that length of his. This kid is going to be special. |
| 7 weeks 2 days ago | I disagree |
I don't agree that the Big East is more talented. The Big Ten has as much NBA talent as anyone. I think it's a crap shoot when you get into the tournament. I think the better argument is style of play. Michigan is probably the least "Big Ten like" of the tourament teams. Perhaps their style of play allows them to adapt better in the tournament. Take OSU last night. Once they got down 15 or so, you knew they wouldn't come back. They just didnt have the firepower to do it. |

the stories of his ass-holeness are legendary. The guy is a grade A scumbag. |
| 7 weeks 3 days ago | My thought |
I remember at one point McGary said he had never lifted a weight in his life before he came to Michigan. That is a terrifying thought for the rest of the country. McGary out played the most feared big man in college basketball as a Freshmen with little experience. Give him an offseason of training and conditioning and he will be close to unstoppable next season. |
| 9 weeks 1 day ago | No |
No. First of all, a lineman doesnt have to be over 300 pounds to be affective. Also, he's a Freshman in college. It takes time for these guys to develop their bodies properly. I think one of the biggest drawbacks in this era of relentless recruiting following is that fans get unreaslistic expectations of players. Like, since Kalis was a five star, he must be ready to contribute immediatly and his body must be pro-ready immediatly |
| 9 weeks 4 days ago | Dymonte |
I will be very surprised if Dymonte red shirts. Seems likely they will groom him like Wilson last year. He will likely back up at SS then best case scenario for 14'-15' is Wilson at FS and Thomas at SS. Thats a nice safety duo |

First double post every one..... |
| 9 weeks 6 days ago | LG vs. RG |
some one please correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the RG more of the pulling guard and RG more of the straight line one? If that is the case, it makes sense to put the more agile Kalis on the right and the road grader Braden on the left. |
| 9 weeks 6 days ago | swap Kalis from RG to LG |
And this is pretty much what every one expected |
| 10 weeks 2 days ago | Great Find |
This kid seems like a great find for the coaching staff. He will continue to rise in the rankings all year. Provided Devin stays 2 more years, the QB battle between Shane Morris and Wilton Speight will be fun to watch. Whoever wins that battle will be very good. |
| 10 weeks 3 days ago | Kalis |
Definetly Kalis. He seems like the most likely starter from this list. I think people will look to him as a gauge of how our o-line will play this year. If he steps in and looks like the 5 star mauler he is expected to be, it will be a good year. If he struggles a bit, we could be in for some growing pains. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | this is rediculous |
Sad they had to do this. There is no one outside of College Station who legitimately thinks Ryan Swope deserves this over Denard. |
| 10 weeks 6 days ago | True |
It could have been a "maybe you should go some place where you can get more playing time" type thing. Or maybe he was just unhappy there. |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | jeez |
The Virginia/ maryland area is absolutely loaded this year. |
| 12 weeks 1 hour ago | Gelen Robinson |
I think Glen's little bro could end up in the class. I see him as a guy who could wow at some camps |
| 12 weeks 1 day ago | There is something to this |
Personally, i got into this blog during the RR years when there was, frankly, a lot more going on with Michigan football. It was a program on the ropes, and i loved coming on here and experiencing the drama and the intrigue with a bunch of other fans. I mean, the biggest news right now is that an assistant just left for another school. There just isnt as much to write about and not as much angst and emotion coming through. Brady Hoke; great for Michigan football, bad for Michigan blogs |

This will not end well... |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | This |
The fact that this kid is not yourt normal #1 overall recruit freak athelete is probably Michigan's biggest advantage. Hand seems like a kid who really means it when he says Academics are very important. I think the staff can really appeal to him with that. I heard somewhere he wants to do engineering. If that is the case, it could come down to UM-VT for him. |
| 14 weeks 2 days ago | what are the Paterno's trying to accomplish? |
Joe is dead, and most people outside of happy Valley know him now for what he is. The NCAA is not going to reverse the sanctions that the University accepted. All this does is show how out of touch they are with the rest of the country. The Freeh report was never meant to be a legal document. Trying to refute it as though it is is dumb |
| 15 weeks 10 hours ago | The Game |
If Michigan and OSU end up in the same division that game is going to decide the division every freakin year until Urban leaves in 3-4 years. This make me wonder, do OSU fans believe he is a lifer? Or will the be happy if they get 5 seasons out of him? I'll be surprised if he goes longer than that. |

Give control of your twitter account over to your kid sister. Watch as endless message boarders speculate over what your love of ponies and Yo Gaba Gaba means for your recruitment. |
|
| 17 weeks 7 hours ago | Morgan |
Morgan should remain the starter. Both he and McGary seem comfortable in their roles. And by the way, the talent and atheleticism infusion on this team has been staggering. Morgan is a 3 year starter and many would say he is the weakpoint in the lineup. I don't think any of the guys who transfered last year would get minutes on this team. And with the classes we have coming in it's going to continue. Gone are the days of 6'4 power forwards and undersized teams. |
| 17 weeks 1 day ago | Yep |
He reminds me of Mark Gotfried. Great recruiter, terrible game manager. |
