OT: Dez Bryant wont sign with Under Armour because they're uncomfortable.
As much as some people on here like to believe that shoes dont matter, I found it interesting that he turned away a decent amount of money to play in shoes that feel better.
I found this in Bryants latest screw up article.
Meanwhile, Bryant said Sanders has refused to talk to him since he backed out of his marketing deal with Under Armour, a popular shoe and apparel company that also outfits Sanders' youth athletic programs. The deal fell apart, according to Bryant, because he determined during last year's minicamps that the company's cleats weren't the right fit for his feet.
Bryant, who wears Nike cleats but does not have a shoe deal, said Sanders has ignored repeated text messages from him since then.
So what? He's a pro, he can sign with whatever shoe company he wants. If you prefer the fit of another company, why restrict yourself to one shoe? Pros sign with different companys for a variety of reasons. I'm sure there are many times that someone signs with Nike, Adidas, or Reebok based on comfort. This is in the news because Bryant is a lunatic. He just got kicked out of a mall this week.
TS and Brodie got kicked out of a mall. Does that make them lunatics?
Maybe La Fours kicked Bryant out.
Given the events of the movie, are you really prepared to argue that TS and Brodie are not lunatics?

The chocolate covered pretzel, didn't you?
Comfort is so subjective that I don't think anyone can claim as a general rule that a particular brand of equipment is going to make a player (or a program) play better or worse.

I think where the effect of a program's equipment and apparel gets underestimated is on recruiting.

The fact is, kids like Nike. They put the swoosh on a pedestal, and I wouldn't be surprised if we've lost out on more than a handful of recruits since '08 because our jerseys no longer had the swoosh on them like most other big programs. It's not a good reason for picking a school, but 16-year-old kids are dumb.

I also seem to remember that during DB's first meeting with the team after the decision to hire Hoke had been made, there were reports that a "Nike! Nike!" chant broke out among the players in an effort to get DB to change our apparel provider, to which DB replied that he doesn't break contracts (i.e., we're stuck with Adidas through 2015, unfortunately).
Unless your name is Richrod
ahhhh yes!
At least he wants to endorse a product that he believes in.
Personally, I like Under Armour's shoes. But I went to Finish Line one time and asked if they had more Under Armour shoes, and he said, "Well, we don't carry them much anymore, because everybody thinks they're uncomfortable." I've had a couple pairs, and both have been sturdy and comfortable. I guess that's not the norm, though.
Nike shoes and cleats fall apart really quickly, in my experience.
But each to his own.
they are not durable and I often have to buy new shoes.
Adidas is better in that department.
they were pieces of shit
If this article featured Jason Whitten (yes, I know, Tenessee, grumble, grumble) or Demarcus Ware, it would be more impressive. Dez hasn't quite figured life out yet. But he's young and Cowboys fans have hope.
Havent worn UA shoes, but I pretty much stick w/ Nikes and I do believe different brands do fit differently and frankly for what you pay for all brands suck (I seem to be the opposite of most; all of the Adidas/Reeboks/Pumas etc I have ever owned have fallen apart).
