Posters of Yore
When I saw the Mid Winter U-M baseball diary I immediately thought of Formerly Anonymous. MGoBlog has had some wonderful posters come and go. FA was one of my favorites. McFarlin is another one mainly because he would piss Brain off so much. Who have you missed?

I really couldn't stand Dex. I actually used to get in e-pissing matches with Chitown Blue because I associated him with Dex. These days it seems like I agree with damn near everything Chitown says.
When I think of the most sordid, dreary, and discomfiting moments of the Rodriguez tenure, I think of Dex. (Note that one can either be a supporter or critic of Rodriguez and still find dark moments over those three years; no argument is to be provoked hereby!)

he and I shared some moments.

Just aren't the same without him.

being gone. His random posts in the middle of the night were always entertaining to me, possibly because they seemed to be at like 12:30 on a Friday night/Saturday morning and yours truly had consumed a few beverages that seem to make everything interesting.

Though he changed his account name after he said "be nice" when he thought the Spartans were going to lose.
January 12th, 2013 at 11:03 PM ^
He did that after BiSB told him that he could kind of "cave himself" by changing his username. If you go to the moderator action sticky on the app you should be able to see most of that conversation. I'd also take a look at BiSB's retirement thread in the app for more reasons he gave for his departure.

I wonder how many of my favorites faded in 2010 as the tide went out on Coach Rodriguez.

What ever happened to that John Belushi look-a-like Waggles?

Complete fraud, but he was entertaining. It was a he, right?
January 12th, 2013 at 7:34 PM ^
Unclear. At one point he/she was claiming to be a brunette girl and demanded thanks for "inspiring" Brandon Gibbons.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:40 PM ^
Why didn't RDT ever post again after he/she was outed? Or did I just miss it?
Did one of the mods delete the account? What's the worst that could have happened had he/she explained why besides some name calling, etc?
I need closure.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:44 PM ^
Not sent to Bolivia, not deleted, not caved, not blocked, 374 points, karma value of 2. As far as mods go, he's a user in good standing.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
He (?) started posting under different usernames ("MGoKate" was one, I think.).
January 12th, 2013 at 8:30 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if he's Herm, too, who is another of my favorites.
January 12th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
Wolverine in a bag, right?
January 12th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
But if I recall right, there may have been two or more different people using the RDT account trying to start up their own recruiting blog. Or that's what I think he posted in a thread. (I'd go back and look if I gave a damn) Regardless, hilarious epic failure. What's funny, is that RDT was wildly popular and it might have worked. The more I live, the more I'm convinced God has a great sense of humor.

started posting after we picked up a bunch of the 2013 recruits... I figured with it being slow and not much to forward to, until spring ball, it was a mod or Brian generating clicks. Needless to say, it was entertaining

What about the poser WarDamnEagle
January 12th, 2013 at 10:50 PM ^
RDT could probably make good money writing $1 fiction books and selling them on Kindle.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:19 PM ^
Ninja something or other...he did fake chat room convos during the RR era. Don't know what happened to those but I enjoyed them
January 12th, 2013 at 7:42 PM ^
Yes! I'd forgotten all about this, so I had to look it up. Here is a link to one of the later ones, and it inclues links to all of the posts from the beginning of the 2010 season.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
Awesome, thanks for the link, one of my favorites
January 12th, 2013 at 9:45 PM ^

Dear God I'd forgotten about Boutros. Never have I identified a poster with his avatar so closely. If anyone can dig up the radio show he called into, that would be amazing. I miss that beautiful bastard.

em0
EDIT: Whoa, i just realized something while googling old em0 threads. One of his many screen names was BlueAdams. I also frequent a Red Wings board called Lets Go Wings and there is a poster there, named BlueAdams, who is notorious for posting "lines threads" where he gives a sentence or two of rambling opinions and then posts his idea of what lines Mike Babcock should run. em0 may be dead and banished on mgoblog but he lives on at LGW.
January 12th, 2013 at 8:48 PM ^
I always liked to imagine that em0 matured a little and is an active member of this community on some new account.

Pretty much everyone who participated in the haloscan post-a-thons during Coaching Search #1.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:38 PM ^
I didn't start posting until after Haloscan because it and everyone in there scared the shit out of me. Knew approximately nothing about football at the time and figured I'd get ripped a new one if I said anything. Ah, the good old days!

Tom Hagan
January 12th, 2013 at 9:31 PM ^
I am with you. The divide that existed amongst the fan base during the RR years was actually insanely entertaining. Now that things have gotten back to where they used to be it seems rather dull.
January 12th, 2013 at 10:53 PM ^
Tom Hagan got exactly what he wanted at the end of the 2010 season. I would imagine that he is happily posting with a handle instead of his real name.
