Depends upon how handy you are. I have paid to have them done and have done my own. DO NOT use the big box installers from Home Depot or Lowes as those guys usually suck in my experience. Unless you are pretty skilled I would avoid doing them yourself.
I had a great deal of success by going to the local window/door company (Lee Wholesale) and using their installers. This type of company usually sells many brands of windows so they can give you the pros and cons of each. Wallside will sell you Wallside no matter what. Lee Wholesale was in New Hudson (near Novi, MI) but they have been acquired by ABC Supply - http://www.abcsupply.com/ and I don't know much about them. You might also want to check with Fingerle Lumber if you are in A2 and they sell windows and my have suggested installers. Overall check out a local independent window company before making a decision.
I checked out Renewal by Anderson and they were really pricy.

Band day has been credited to Canham. From DB's blog "Canham ... Band Day was just one of his ingenious ideas. He brought high school musicians -- and their parents, of course -- into Michigan Stadium to help create a special day of entertainment and Wolverine football." But I stand corrected as Wikipedia has it starting in the late 1940's.
I do think in season performance affects sales, but not season ticket sales for sure. You don't think winning brings more fans into the stadium that season? Or that losing causes no shows?
"wiped out by Don Canham to make way for the almighty dollar." Band Day was created to fill emply seats, once there were no longer 20,000 free seats for crappy games, it went away.
I do agree there is an attendance lag effect for on field performance both good and bad, but that can be exacerbated by price actions.

"It's just a completely different time.
Just like comparing football teams from different eras gets you no where. Or coaches.
Bo Schembechler the coach could've and probably would've struggled in this era that we're in. Not just on the field, but all the off-field shit too. Maybe not, but to compare him to someone from today is kinda silly."
So things change. I guess JFK and Lincoln would suck as Presidents today. I believe people who perfomed well in the past have the capability to adjust and perform well today. I agree that comparing atheletes from different eras does not work perfectly, but administrators and coaches? I think in general top people would do well regardless of era. I think you could drop Canham and Schembechler in today and they would do just fine.

I have been going to games since 1969. When Canham took over he had something called band day to fill what was otherwise a half empty stadium for games against Northwestern. I used to buy walk up student tickets (K1-12) for $2. Typically sellouts were only a couple of games a year. He took that and with Schembechler building the product on the field, turned it into years of sellouts and a waiting list.
Michigan home attendance
Oh by the way, the winning cures everything crowd? In 1964 when M when to the Rose Bowl, attendance was
If DB continues his policies you will see an inverse of this chart.

I hear they will be providing fur lined jock straps with the Noid embroidered on them for the first 5000 in attendance at the PSU game. I think it's a premium left over from DB's Dominos days.

"past the inflection point where higher prices actually reduce gross revenue."
It's amazing that the concept of price elasticity continues to escape people. It will be interesting if they continue to make this mistake or begin to understand the relationship between the product and the price.

Just tiring of the level of coverage it gets here and elsewhere. As a non soccer fan I would rather have coverrage of M baseball recruiting over the World Cup. Basically anything Michigan related over the World Cup, especially on Mgoblog. But I understand Mgoblog is Brian's gig and soccer is one of his passions.
I'd say the same thing if ice dancing had been covered here at length.

I find watching bowling and golf more compelling than soccer. Give me girls softball over soccer anyday. Only the WNBA would fall below soccer. I just don't get it. Neg away.

I asked for an upgrade within my current PSD tier. I think all I could do is move about 1 section over before I hit the edge of my PSD area.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Thanks. I also got this||
Thanks. I also got this email earlier this week.
"Thank you for your commitment to Michigan Athletics as a donor and football season ticket holder. We are excited to make you aware of some limited availability in our premium seating areas for the 2014 football season. Premium Seating is an opportunity to support all 31 teams, while enjoying the ultimate gameday experience!
Limited Premium Seating options currently exist in the following areas:"
So those seats are not flying off the shelf either.

Since when is $6.6 billion in annual profit a sinking ship? Obviously not leading edge in everything but Watson and some of their software is pretty good.
|11 weeks 9 hours ago||My concern||
I am in section 40 as well and asked for my tickets to be improved within the same PSD tier. I have the money now but plan to retire in a few years and don't want to be tied to an ever increasing PSD in future years. Depending upon how much of an increase we see I may move back to the end zone or drop tickets altogether in a few years. If I was in my 30's or early 40's I might look for an upgrade.

I did a similar thing. I used to donate to the athletic department. With PSDs I figured that is my new donation and I no longer give beyond that. I wonder how much PSD dollars have offset by reduced donations?

EL cops are pricks. The bring on part time cops, sheriffs, etc to crack down on drinking, especially kids wearing Michigan gear. DO NOT drink outside in EL.
|11 weeks 6 days ago||Yes||
Yes, I think there is a chance that those tickets will go unsold. Remember there is no longer a waiting list for season tickets. btw I am a sheep that had been buying season tickets for 20+ years and been going to games since 1969.
They are overestimating the strength of the "brand".
|11 weeks 6 days ago||I agree||
I too was a bigger fan before college and a few years after college. There was a crapload more going on in college between school, work and trying to find a job. Basketball was also a top dog ('76 - '80) in those years. When I was a kid I could devote my life to fandom and now I have more time and money I can do the same.
|11 weeks 6 days ago||I think we all could deal||
I think we all could deal with a ok product if we weren't treated like shit the rest of the time. The cost of parking, food, seat cusion rentals... I feel like I need to keep checking my wallet to make sure it's still there. In the old days I felt like I was treated with benign neglect. They left me alone and I enjoyed the game. Now I feel like I am sitting in the the timeshare sales pitch.
I enjoy going to games, but I wish they were not trying so hard to fleece me out of every last dollar.

I renewed this year but my profile matches yours. They seek input but do not seem to listen.
|11 weeks 6 days ago||Have you seen the price of||
Have you seen the price of Pistons tickets lately? Evidently the economics department has not informed the Athletic department about the concept of price elasticity. Prices can go up until the product no longer equals the value/demand. I'm not comparing 1997 to today, just comparing 2013 with the crappy slate of games in 2014.

Nice! Any chance we could get the occasional recruit that doesn't need to gain 20+ lbs (with the exception of McGary)? I am harkening back to the days of Buch Wade and Richard Reliford. Or even Loy Vaught.
