Hearing interesting tidbits about Sanders to CU
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:55 PM ^
Kevin Wilson? Yeah, I don’t think so.
Pete Golding is falling out of favor in Tuscaloosa.

"Pete Golding is falling out of favor in Tuscaloosa"
For drinking or losing? Sweet mugshot tho..
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
OP didn't state that he's getting OSU's OC, but that his OC is coming from OSU.
...if there's any truth to this at all. We'll see.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:11 PM ^
I read it as the OSU OC and Bama DC, but you're right. It's ambiguously written.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:38 PM ^
A post citing vague sources spouting unbelievable rumors is "ambiguously written"?!
How unusual...
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:21 PM ^
Not sure how else to state it. I live in Colorado and I know some people very connected to the program who told me this. If I gave a name you wouldn’t know who it was anyways. I basically said exactly what I was told. I thought it was interesting because if they pull a good coach and top recruit from OSU it hurts them and helps Michigan. So I thought I would share that information. This isn’t something I would take to the bank but found it interesting as a Michigan fan. Kills me how people share information and others have to rip it. Take information with a grain of salt and see how it plays out. Like I said we will find out more tomorrow especially if there is any truth to this
December 3rd, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
How unusual...
Denver TV reported the same thing as OP last night.
Even though it's still all rumors.
So much for journalism 101 and verifying sources.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
Yeah I read it your way too, but Buckeye's reading is remotely plausible, which our reading is not.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:23 PM ^
“the OC” would be Kevin Wilson. “an OC” could mean anyone. Probably a typo.
“The” means “the one”, like as in your alma mater The Ohio State University. Though, now that I see it, I do think An Ohio State University is much better. 😂
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
"Deion is getting the Colorado OC from OSU." He omitted Colorado. Not a typo, just ambiguous. Frankly, it's still ambiguous with "an."
"Deion is getting an OC from Michigan." Sherrone Moore? Matt Weiss? Or just some other guy?
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
Both corrections work. But yours doesn’t give us “An Ohio State University”. I remember visiting a number of Ohio State universities on road trips. Bowling Green, Ball State, Denison … So many nice and fun people. Oh wait, we need to include Indiana don’t we. That would make it “An University South of Michigan”. There are so many good ones.
BTW, It’s Tony Alford, Run Game Coordinator
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
Yes. "The Ohio State University" is a confusing name because there are several Ohio state universities. The Ohio State University is an Ohio state university.
However, an Indiana university is not "an" university; it is "a" university south of Michigan, unless you're pronouncing it (phonetically) "ooniversity," which would be an incorrect pronunciation.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
"the OC" could be read "the (Colorado) OC".
And poor assumption: the Ohio State University is not my alma mater.
I'm a Big Lots Buckeye.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:06 PM ^
At least you're not an Odd Lots Owl.
(Big Lots was originally Odd Lots; they started changing the name in the eighties in order to avoid legal issues. My wife's hometown south of Columbus had an Odd Lots until it changed to Big Lots sometime around 2000. Yes, I'm probably the only one mildly amused by this.)
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:23 PM ^
Makes sense. That explains how you're so literate.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
Big Lots Buckeye, comment of the day!
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:12 PM ^
I knew I liked you for a reason.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:54 PM ^
Hartline? Please?
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
That's what I'm seeing. The OSU commit saying he's waiting to sign is another indication to me it's hartline. Deion is going to get the flashiest names to be his coordinators, young, ACE recruiters. Who are the top 2 recruiters according to 247? Freddie Roach, DL coach at Alabama and Hartline at OSU. Those have got to be the 2 coordinators that are rumored.
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:30 PM ^
lol watch it be the offensive GA.
Congrats to Mike Sollenne, new OC at Colorado.
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:59 PM ^
I for one refuse to be Primetime would engage in any hyperbole, pretty sure I need to take this entire thread literally, he is taking the OC
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:09 PM ^
Kevin Wilson voluntarily leaving OSU for the same title at Colorado seems highly unlikely.
But apparently there is some speculation about OSU running backs coach Tony Alford, who played for Colorado State:
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:17 PM ^
Maybe Wilson wants full control of the offense, rather than run Day’s offense.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
ESPN on the situation as of Friday night:
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:08 PM ^
Why not? Smart move for Wilson to leave now. No upside in Columbus.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:59 PM ^
If the stories I've heard about Wilson at IU are true, I wouldn't be surprised if he wore out his welcome.
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:31 PM ^
He never said anything about Wilson.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:59 PM ^
Deion at CU feels like an odd fit, but strike while the iron is hot. Definite stepping stone job. Just ask Tuck.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:24 PM ^
Definitely worth it for Colorado, their roster is barely FBS level. Bringing in Deion probably equals a huge, if temporary, talent upgrade via portal and recruiting. Then when he inevitably leaves they can try to sustain it.
Just amazing how bad that program has been for what was an NFL factory and national title contender in the '90s
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:30 PM ^
Yeah well there was a reason CU was an NFL factory with McCartney there and it wasn't pretty.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:42 PM ^
I was pretty young at the time, so I don't know a lot of details. Any recommended reading? I know they had all-timer scumbag Rae Carruth, hired Neuheisel who had an entire book written about his 2000 Washington Huskies' off-the-field awfulness -- guessing his time at CU wasn't much different -- then had Barnett who eventually resigned in disgrace.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:30 PM ^
Was not questioning it from their perspective.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:28 PM ^
Was not questioning that you were questioning it
From Deion's perspective he can get some hired gun transfers/recruits in there, maybe make a bowl, then get the heck outta there
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:41 PM ^
That definitely must be what he's banking on. I would have thought he'd want to stay south somewhere, but this was the opportunity and I guess he didn't want to wait.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:00 PM ^
Or, if he can rebuild CU quickly, why not stay? Texas and Oklahoma are leaving soon so there will be a bit of a vacuum in the Big XII. It will still be considered a P5 conference - he could have a path to becoming a big fish on a little pond quickly. Dominating the Big XII is a path to a first round bye in the new playoffs.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:30 PM ^
Because if he’s that good eventually someone in warmer weather will offer him more money and a better recruiting base.
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:04 PM ^
“Or, if he can rebuild CU quickly, why not stay? Texas and Oklahoma are leaving soon so there will be a bit of a vacuum in the Big XII.”
Only one problem: CU is a PAC 12 school.
December 3rd, 2022 at 5:05 PM ^
Colorado joined the Pac 12 over a decade ago. But your point still kinda stands with USC and UCLA leaving.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:26 PM ^
I asked a colleague who lives in Colorado if Tuck was there long enough to leave an impression. He answered, “no.”
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:50 PM ^
That is good for Colorado
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:03 PM ^
Yeah I watch ESPN too
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
So I can feign insider status on MGOboard just after they report stuff and have the mgoposters that don’t watch show me mad respect because of my insidery insiderisms ripped off from a national media source they don’t watch.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:24 PM ^
Thank you for stating the obvious. So many want to be insiders.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
Lol. That was my first thought, as well…
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
Love Coach prime but sorta wanted to see how far he could take Jackson state before he inevitably takes over fsu.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:06 PM ^
Jackson St can't go any further than they are going today.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:24 PM ^
Lol fair enough. I was thinking maybe they could get some bigger matchups in the future
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
I can see why that’s the prevailing thought from the outside, but as an FSU follower (my wife is a grad and they’ve become my second team) I can say that definitely isn’t happening. Mike Norvell has been perfect for FSU and getting things righted there. They are going to be GREAT next year.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:05 PM ^
It is a done deal. There is a private jet leaving Jackson, MS to Rocky Mountain Airport (Broomfield just outside of Boulder) later today. It is going to get really interesting in Boulder.
