Hearing interesting tidbits about Sanders to CU

Submitted by Kevin13 on December 3rd, 2022 at 1:53 PM

Some people I know with connections to CU claim Sanders has his staff pretty much put together. Claiming his is getting the OC from Ohio State and the DC from Alabama. Also maybe be able to flip a 5 star WR from OSU to go to CU. Guess we’ll find out more tomorrow

Not sure how else to state it. I live in Colorado and I know some people very connected to the program who told me this. If I gave a name you wouldn’t know who it was anyways. I basically said exactly what I was told. I thought it was interesting because if they pull a good coach and top recruit from OSU it hurts them and helps Michigan.   So I thought I would share that information.  This isn’t something I would take to the bank but found it interesting as a Michigan fan. Kills me how people share information and others have to rip it. Take information with a grain of salt and see how it plays out. Like I said we will find out more tomorrow especially if there is any truth to this

Both corrections work. But yours doesn’t give us “An Ohio State University”.  I remember visiting a number of Ohio State universities on road trips.  Bowling Green, Ball State, Denison … So many nice and fun people.   Oh wait, we need to include Indiana don’t we. That would make it “An University South of Michigan”. There are so many good ones.

BTW, It’s Tony Alford, Run Game Coordinator

Yes. "The Ohio State University" is a confusing name because there are several Ohio state universities. The Ohio State University is an Ohio state university.

However, an Indiana university is not "an" university; it is "a" university south of Michigan, unless you're pronouncing it (phonetically) "ooniversity," which would be an incorrect pronunciation.

At least you're not an Odd Lots Owl.

(Big Lots was originally Odd Lots; they started changing the name in the eighties in order to avoid legal issues. My wife's hometown south of Columbus had an Odd Lots until it changed to Big Lots sometime around 2000. Yes, I'm probably the only one mildly amused by this.)

That's what I'm seeing. The OSU commit saying he's waiting to sign is another indication to me it's hartline. Deion is going to get the flashiest names to be his coordinators, young, ACE recruiters. Who are the top 2 recruiters according to 247? Freddie Roach, DL coach at Alabama and Hartline at OSU. Those have got to be the 2 coordinators that are rumored.

Kevin Wilson voluntarily leaving OSU for the same title at Colorado seems highly unlikely.

But apparently there is some speculation about OSU running backs coach Tony Alford, who played for Colorado State:

Definitely worth it for Colorado, their roster is barely FBS level.  Bringing in Deion probably equals a huge, if temporary, talent upgrade via portal and recruiting.  Then when he inevitably leaves they can try to sustain it.

Just amazing how bad that program has been for what was an NFL factory and national title contender in the '90s

I was pretty young at the time, so I don't know a lot of details.  Any recommended reading?  I know they had all-timer scumbag Rae Carruth, hired Neuheisel who had an entire book written about his 2000 Washington Huskies' off-the-field awfulness -- guessing his time at CU wasn't much different -- then had Barnett who eventually resigned in disgrace.

Or, if he can rebuild CU quickly, why not stay? Texas and Oklahoma are leaving soon so there will be a bit of a vacuum in the Big XII. It will still be considered a P5 conference - he could have a path to becoming a big fish on a little pond quickly. Dominating the Big XII is a path to a first round bye in the new playoffs.

So I can feign insider status on MGOboard just after they report stuff and have the mgoposters that don’t watch show me mad respect because of my insidery insiderisms ripped off from a national media source they don’t watch.

It is a done deal. There is a private jet leaving Jackson, MS to Rocky Mountain Airport (Broomfield just outside of Boulder) later today. It is going to get really interesting in Boulder.
