Agreed.
You win today...maybe the week. WELL DONE!

What we have here folks is a bonafide fluster cuck.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:22 AM ^
Apparently games not played are considered a "no contest." No winner, no loser... get your winning percentages ready for the Conference Championship... if we get that far!
October 28th, 2020 at 11:24 AM ^
So, if OSU loses a game and we are undefeated going into OSU weekend, our best chance at a Big Ten title will be a strategic no contest against them?
October 28th, 2020 at 11:26 AM ^
underrated comment. Great strategy this!
October 28th, 2020 at 11:31 AM ^
Don't know man, I would make them forfeit or field who you can, everyone needs to work around Wisc not getting its crap together
October 28th, 2020 at 12:01 PM ^
Correct. Screw them. Perfect way to win The Game is by outsmarting them.
October 28th, 2020 at 12:16 PM ^
Now that is thinking outside the box. I like it.
October 28th, 2020 at 12:29 PM ^
Yup. Covid Party!
October 28th, 2020 at 12:35 PM ^
Fuck that - let's beat their ass on the field!!! Full strength.
October 28th, 2020 at 1:47 PM ^
I thought the 2020 thing to do would be to eat their ass on the field.
October 28th, 2020 at 3:08 PM ^
Your strategy hasn’t worked...I like this outside the box thinking.
October 28th, 2020 at 1:06 PM ^
It's no different than teams from the B1G West making the championship game in a normal year while playing Maryland and Rutgers in crossover games. Which is another thing that Wisconsin should be familiar with...
October 28th, 2020 at 2:23 PM ^
As far out as this is, I'd bet Gene Smith has already put a bug in Kevin Warren's ear about a similar scenario that would prompt a rule change in declaring a conference champ.
October 28th, 2020 at 4:09 PM ^
That would have to be very strategic since the Big Ten Championship Game would be the following week.
October 28th, 2020 at 4:42 PM ^

"Mr. McKittrick, after very careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that your new 'defense system' sucks."
October 28th, 2020 at 2:30 PM ^
It’s a no contest if they don’t play? What are we supposed to call the MSU - Rutgers game then? That sure as hell didn’t seem like a contest.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:22 AM ^
Fuck, the 1st domino..... Here we go.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:22 AM ^
I will be satisfied with the season if the Michigan-MSU game gets played at full strength. There's no way this doesn't happen to most of the B1G this year.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:27 AM ^
I don't understand this sentiment. It hasn't happened "to most of" other conferences. Why would the B1G be any different? Especially since the B1G arguably has a tighter protocol than other conferences.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:31 AM ^
Because other conferences aren't forcing cancellations if a few players from one team test positive. Other teams have had outbreaks, they just aren't shutting things down.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:37 AM ^
The difference between other conferences and the big ten is they had a bye week to use so they are postponing not cancelling yet. Its absolutely caused games to not be played
October 28th, 2020 at 12:10 PM ^
B10 isn’t forcing cancellations for a few players either... do you not remember Minnesota’s special teams being out?
October 28th, 2020 at 11:32 AM ^
As we enter Week 7 of the 2020 season, there have now been 35 games affected by COVID-19 with most postponements coming as a result of contact tracing protocols that require players to quarantine for 14 days if they are deemed to have been in high-risk contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Several games have already been postponed or canceled in other conferences. The B1G has had at least two teams (Minnesota and Wisconsin) already affected by COVID only one week into the season. Pair this with no bye weeks in the conference schedule and you're going to see more games cancelled like this one.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:39 AM ^
Has Florida played since their outbreak? I don't believe so.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:43 AM ^
Shut down again this weekend, also...

We need more friends. One that tells me how to simply post photos would be nice.

It's "happened to" the SEC, ACC, Big 12, AAC, C-USA, MWC, and SBC. Pac 12 and MAC haven't played yet. Now it's happened to the B1G. So yeah, it's happened to literally all of the major and mid-major conferences.

Also, cases are trending up and big ten states are faring worse than other conferences. Big Ten has three states in top 10 for new cases per capita (Wisconsin #3, Nebraska #9, Iowa #10). Illinois is #11 and Indiana is #17.
October 28th, 2020 at 12:43 PM ^
...and, as a (bad) bonus, Wisconsin is not testing that much.
They currently have a 28% positivity rate.
To compare, Michigan has about 7% (it used to be about 3% a month ago).
So Wisconsin has double the (raw) daily cases as MI; four times the positivity; and fewer people. I'll do the math --- it's quite possible there are 8 times (or more) cases, per capita, in Wisconsin than there are in Michigan. And we're not doing great.
I'm just thankful we're not playing North or South Dakota.
October 28th, 2020 at 5:29 PM ^
A big chunk of Michigan's test numbers are administered in the ER - all patients get tested. Which is nice and all but by the time they're already in the hospital, it's a bit late in the game.
October 28th, 2020 at 5:38 PM ^
And many of the top 10 states are non-FBS states anyway (SD, ND, MT, ID, WY).
October 28th, 2020 at 12:57 PM ^
I should've phrased my comment better. I understand it has happened in most/all conferences, but the initial comment I was responding too was implying that this is going to be something that sweeps across the entire B1G, even though that's something that has not happened in other conferences. Certain teams have been hit hard, but it usually stays isolated to those teams and doesn't spread throughout the conference.
October 28th, 2020 at 11:53 AM ^
In addition to the other good answers, cases in the USA set a record high last week. The trend is going the wrong way and the worst hit areas are in or border the Big Ten West footprint.
October 28th, 2020 at 12:11 PM ^
And the worst area of the worst hit areas is Wisconsin.
